Perceived output level: Nice - hot enough in bridge...not overwhelming.
Tone: Bridge - bright, with LOTS of bite, but not TOO brittle...Neck...not as muffled as the stock pickups - VERY warm
Sonic evaluation: Everything that I wanted - I told Pete what I was looking for, and he did the job...the ESSENCE of customer service.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Classic LP pickups...these pickups will do just about EVERYTHING...although I don't know about metal (although with the right amp and stomp box, they might be able to do that as well).

Comments: My HIGHEST recommendation. I now have SEVERAL guitars with Pete's pickups in them - everything from this Epi Elite LP (whick, BTW, is a KILLER axe for the $$$) to a $65 Kramer Focus VT111 that was transformed by a set of Pete's Strat pickups. He does HIGH-QUALITY work for a VERY reasonable price...with unparalled customer service.
