Comments: This is an excellent value and I urge readers to try Pete. You get personal service and Pete will send you what you need if you tell him what you want. I first ordered standard VV pickups for the tele. The neck PU is now clear and distinct, not muddy at all. Good for chord and lead work. Now I exchanged Pete's original bridge pickup for one with more mids. WOW! This would cut through anything. Great cut and drive. Still characteristic single coil sound but with much more bite and sustain. Turn the guitar volume down a tad and it cleans and brightens up for classic twang. A really versatile tele arrangement now. I haven't tried other replacement pickups but I'm happy with these.
If you want the classic tele bridge sound straight up but with somewhat more volume and bite, buy Pete's standard PU. If you want more of a driving sound with midrange cut, request an overwound one.
