Comments: I have been playing a long (decades) time and if these pickups were stolen I would replace them as soon as I could call Pete !!!! I LOVE EVERTHING about these pickups...and even though they are worth as much as any of the other pickup makers charge an added bonus is that they are a BARGIN at under $100 for the set !!!! One last but very important factor is the customer service you will get from Pete... Packaging, paperwork and overall peerless service you will get from Pete will spoil you no end !!!!! Features
:
Pickup features: Single-Coil passive 3 pickup set
Impedence or other specs: Documentaion has specs too numerous to mention
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: SX SST57 from rondomusic.net
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: stock chinese SX single coils
Other pickups on guitar: N/A
Artists using this pickup: ME !!
You musical style(s): CLassic Rock, reggae
Reason for pickup change: I've got this sweet-playing SX SST57 Vintage White Strat knock-off and I wanted new pickups so the sound would match the guitar's appearance.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Slightly hotter than the stock SX pickups
Tone: Classic Strat tone, clear and twangy
Sonic evaluation: I'm currently running the SX SST57 through a Carvin SX200 solid-state amp with no pedals or other hardware. These pickups sound even better that my old '75 Strat. I've got the tone for all my surf music nailed, plus they get the classic Johnny Cash twang too. Then I go for the bridge/middle position, kick up the reverb, and hammer out "Secret Agent Man". I love the sound of these pickups!
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Clasic Rock and Reggae - Yes, a good match

Comments: I've been playing for over thirty years and I've built and hot-rodded a few guitars in my time. This is one of the best experiences I've had with aftermarket parts. The pickups cost $30 apiece, Duncan wants at least $65 apiece and I won't buy DiMarzio products anymore. The packaging, documentation, and installation instructions were the best I've ever seen. Pete Biltoft does an amazing job with these pickups, you can tell just by looking at and handling them that they're something special. A BEST BUY!!

Impedence or other specs: Standard high impedance single coils
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: '57 re-issue strat from parts
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: N/A, original installation
Other pickups on guitar: none
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Blues
Reason for pickup change: Looking for a well made vintage strat pickup
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Low output, '50s strat output level, similar to other vintage strat repro pickups
Tone: Smooth, balanced, good vintage tone in all positions
Sonic evaluation: Used with a '68 Bassman, Silvertone 1484, Peavey Classic 50/410, Homebrew double deluxe, mixture of 15 and 10 inch Jensens and Greenback re-issue 12s. The pickups shine through each amp. Good chime and sweet 2/4 position combinations. Very quiet, as well.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: For blues, they are what a '50s pickup should be. Some boost is required to really drive the amp, but the pickup provides the basic tone I need.

Comments: I would buy these pickups again in a heartbeat! They are great sounding, well made, and quiet. They are the best-kept secret in pickups.

Comments: I would definitely have Pete Biltoft wind me some more p'ups. These are beautiful sounding p'ups. I've owned Fralins, Kinmans, Rio Grande, Fender CS, and a slew of others, and these are the sweetest sounding pickups I've ever played.Get 'em while they are still cheap. Pete could charge more than twice what he does for these pickups and they would still be a bargain. They are very quiet, too.
