Features
:
Humbucker, Vintage spec. "Dr Vintage". 8.06 KOhm.
Instrument
:
Gibson Historic SC LP Jr 2004. HB in bridge pos. I wanted to test something different than the P90, that does hum quite a bit.
Sound
:
10
I played it through my BF DR and a Tweed Deluxe RI.
The comparison was a Tim White ???Ed A??? wind, a Gibson ???57 and a Gibson T-top (and of course a Gibson and a SD P90). All good PU???s ???
All the above HB PU:s are PAF copies - as I think the Dr V is.
Lots of ???meat??? and bite and "body" in the Dr V. Very nice sounding, not harsh, no hard treble. Absolutely one of my best sounding HB:s.
Overall Rating
:
9
If I buy a new Gibson I'll probably equip it with Dr V:s. It does cost a bit, but so does a Gibson '57 - and this one is "hand rolled".
The only thing I haven't tried in my guitars are real PAF:s (Although I played two PAF equipped Gibson's - I'm not sure a PAF would be soooo very much better ...
