Features :
Pickup features: Passive humbucker
Impedence or other specs: 8.72 bridge, 7.94 neck. PAF style with Alnico 5 magnets. No covers.

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: '59 Historic Gibson Les Paul
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: Gibson Burstbucker 1 and 2
Other pickups on guitar: N/A
Artists using this pickup: ?
You musical style(s): Classic rock/blues rock
Reason for pickup change: Burstbuckers always sounded wimpy and dull to me.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Medium. Stronger than the Burstbuckers.
Tone: Full with a crisp top end.
Sonic evaluation: '59 Gibson Historic Les Paul through a 1987 Marshall Silver Jubilee 50 watt tube 1 12" combo with Celestion Vintage 30 speaker.
I like these pickups. They pretty much sound like a PAF, but with a slightly brighter edge. Bridge pickup is hot enough to yield good overdrive, yet retains a traditional PAF tone. NOT as hot as, say, a Gibson '57 Classic Plus,(I also like those pickups)but hotter than a '57 Classic or Burstbucker. (I HATE Burstbuckers.)
Neck pickup is clear and strong, but creamy enough to produce good "woman tone" when tone control is rolled back. Both pickups clean up fairly well when volume control is cut back, a nice thing indeed!

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Classic/blues rock. GREAT match. Matched pair work well in their respective positions.

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: If they were destroyed or stolen, I'd replace them with the same or possibly try another Wolfetone humbucker. I find most pickup manufacturers have a basic signature sound thats' inherent in all their pickup models, so I'd be interested to try a few of his other models, but i AM satisfied with the Grey Wolf units.

Features :
Pickup features: Passive Humbucker
Impedence or other specs: About 7.7 Neck & 8.6 Bridge

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Heritage 150CM
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: Schaller Golden 50's
Other pickups on guitar: N/A
Artists using this pickup: N/A
You musical style(s): Rock, Blues
Reason for pickup change: Schallers were ok. Nothing bad about them, but nothing real great neither. Mostly very plain sounding.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: About the same as a SD 59
Tone: nicely balanced. crisp highs, round lows, and mids that hold it all together.
Sonic evaluation: These pups finally give this guitar the sound I had always hoped it would have. Playing through my Route 66 I hit an A5 and instantly felt the need to turn the amp up and let her buck.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Rock, Blues. Both positions sound beautiful.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I mulled over a set of wolftones for sometime. I originally was going to get another set of 59's, but thought what the hell ya gotta take a chance sometime. I am glad I did however, my chance taking days are over frome now on it is all wolfetone all the time.
