Alder body(strat style)magnetic effect single coils in neck and middle, same type humbucker in bridge. Nice, thin neck for soloing with rosewood finger board. Only single ply pick guard, but that's easily upgraded. Tuners are good not great. Trem bar and bridge combo don't work well, but I don't use trem much anyway.

I was mainly interested in the humbucker, but the single coils are okay. I play mostly blues and blues based rock, and the humbucker was a change from my #1 guitar which is a USA G&L Legacy w/ Texas Specials. I use a Johnson Marquis which is a trans/tube with amp emulation and digital effects. This guitar sounds really cool with the boutque setting and some gain using the humbucker. Sounds good with a wah pedal also.

I really like an alder body guitar, and for the price, plus the humbucker, I couldn't pass it up. Before this guitar, I owned a G-12 Tradition in the same HSS configuration. But it had a Basswood body and the bridge bucker was way louder than the single coils. This axe is much more balanced and the alder body is way lighter. The guitar sounds very good for the price.

Bridge Humbucker - Passive
I don't know the specs which is why I'm posting here. For nearly 2 years I had this Fender Highway 1 USA strat and after trying 4 top of the line humbuckers at the bridge, my Pacifica STILL sounds better on the distortion channel. It just has a nice full warm overdrive and for the life of me I can't find a name brand bucker that willl give me a similar sound.

I'm about to give in and try switching pickups with the Ibanez pickup that's currently in my strat. If the Pacifica still sounds better, I guess the Strat is not the axe for me. I don't know why that would be consiidering I paid $300 Canadian for my PAC and the strat was $800 brand new.
If anyone knows what kind of pickup this is, be it the DC resistence, Tone settings or magnet type, PLEASE email me at hinrich@yahoo.com
