Features : 10
Bought it used, but almost brand new. Not many features other than being plain awesome.

Sound Quality : 10
The tone is killer! I run it alongside a Marshall 2x12 cab, and the mix of the beefy smaller Marshall and the bite of the Avatar sound huge. It's so good, that I could use it as my only cab and still blow a lot of other stuff away.

Reliability : 10
Great. Haven't had it very long, but it's still as good as the day I bought it.

Customer Support : 10
Never had a problem. Dave is super cool and will take time to help you with everything. If he wasn't so busy all the time, what with the company to run and everything, I'd call him just to chit chat.

Overall Rating : 10
Worth every penny!

Its a cab.

Sound Quality : 10
No cab can match its tone. 4 alnico blues, and this thing just flat out sings. Truly no comparison. Absolutely indescribably perfect.

Reliability : 10
This is my second cab from Avatar, the first I have had for over a year, gigged all over with it, and had no problem. If you hit the face with a sledge hammer you might damage it

Customer Support : 10
Flawless customer support. they are eager to answer all your questions, and are genuinely kind people. what more could you ask for.

Overall Rating : 10
I use them with a tele, and '77 and '79 marshall jmps. THE DEFINITION OF TONE. There is no cab on earth I would rather have. thank you avatar

Although, I wish there was more of a selection of grill cloths on the Special cab's, I cannot complain. The look is still great!

Sound Quality : 10
The sound is amazing! I have an early 80's JCM800 (50 watt), and a Les Paul - in conjunction with the Greenbacks - thats what Rock n Roll sounds like!

Reliability : 10
Havent had any trouble yet, and dont forsee any either...

Customer Support : 10
Excellent Customer Support!

Contacted them very late in the day, they still took my order.

Greenbacks were on back order and they told me it would be between 1 to 3 weeks before shipping it out. They called me back two days later and said it was on its way.

They knew what I had ordered, and were very polite.

What's to complain about?...

Overall Rating : 10
I'd give this cabinet a 10! It sounds amazing! And you can't go wrong with the price. I have and will continue to recommend this company to everyone. These cabinets will be around for just as long as the old Marshall cabinets. Why pay more for the same product because it has a certain name/logo on it? People need to support small companies like this, so they can stick around as long as possible.

Bottom line: this is a good company! You wont be disappointed. Dont believe me, read the other reviews...

This amp sounds great for just about anything. I got four Celestion classic lead 80s and it sounds great. It's made with 3/4 inch baltic birch plywood which is really good dense wood... very good wood... very good. The carpet is very nice... unless if you have cats... i have 5 cats and a dog, but this stays pretty clean...

Sound Quality : 10
Sounds amazing... has great distortion tone... great bass and great highs... It will play whatever you put through it.

Reliability : 10
Um... never had a problem... this is one heavy duty piece of equiptment.. I love it.

Customer Support : 10
Best customer support... email them and they'll get back to you within a day... awesome.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
This cab sounds better then a lot on the market.. Mine compares to a good marshall cab. And to get it for so much cheaper is wonderful... I have been playing for about four years now and I play in a hardcore band called "Burn Down Yesterday" I love this cab and would definately buy another.

2 G412's purchsed this year. One loaded with Celestion Vintage 30s and the other with Celestion Greenbacks. Both cabs make an excellent team for the styles I play (mostly doom/metal/stoner stuff). Both are standard 8 OHMS.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm using a magnavox era Ampeg V4 and a Les Paul standard with these cabs. Gives it the warmest, deepest tone I've ever heard. The vintage 30s stay nice and warm at high volumes and the greenbacks break up nicely for an awesome overdrive.

Reliability : 10
The cabs are solid. Made from birch plywood, just like any other high quality cabs. Never had any problems with either cab.

Customer Support : 10
They are very friendly over the phone, and shipped the same day.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for nearly 10 years, and these cabs are the best cabs I've played for the money. Comparable to any high-end cabs. I'll definitely invest in more Avatar stuff later on.

I got the G412 special straight cab. I have 4 G12H 30's in it. Mine came with the wheat grill and small Avatar name tag on it which I'm proud to have in my collection! This one comes as an 8ohm impedance standard only. It has 120 watts which I was concerned with until I got it fired up and played. Not a problem at all. Plenty of headroom in a band that has 3 guitars, boom'n bass player and a thunderous drummer. You can see why I was concerned. My other cab is a 400 watt Behringer with Jensons....harsh with my Peavey xxl 100 watt head.

Sound Quality : 10
This cab with these speakers saved my xxl Peavey ss amp. Warm and punchy can get brutal but really excells in lesser gain tones like the Blues(which I love) due to the early speaker break up and the low end coming out of it. My Peavey head could be a little trebly and thin with no warmth using other cabs. Not very good using a Marshall 412 with GT 75's or the Behringer with Jenson's. I did try it with some vintage 70's and that helped the amp out alot but the highs were still a little prevalent. I had the treble way the he$$ down to compensate for the problem. Not with this Avatar and the GH12 30's. In fact I am bringing the treble back up and backing the lows off a little too. With this cab I really can hear the difference with EQ adjustments. Here is the clincher. The rest of the band is praising the new sound coming out of my side. More depth, clarity and feeling have been some of the feedback I'm getting.I play blues, hard rock and metal with this cab and it delivers on all counts.

Reliability : 10
We will see. Dave told me with no fear that "when I get it Hammer it". I think he is confident in his product! Everything looks solid. No rattles/buzzing either.

Customer Support : 10
I emailed Dave and described what my set up is and what I have tried and the problems I was having and he recommended the cab with the G12h 30's. I was considering mixing 2 v30's/2 g12h30's but went with Daves idea instead. Hey it was cheaper anyways cause it was a special. He could have made more money off me.....

Overall Rating : 10
$437.00 shipped to my door arrived the very next day. I live next door in Washington he is in Idaho. Best cab I have played through. I will probably call Dave and get some casters from him to help move it about. I'm big and strong but I'm not going to wear myself out hefting this thing around since we do gig. Casters really do help. Its alot easier to lift than my Behringer 412. A solid state amp that has dynamics and warmth to it. I could see these speakers saving alot of amps. The cab is great. The sound makes me want to play more or at least be excited to show up for practice. I will be getting another cab from Dave(Avatar) probably with some V30's to really get some heavy go'n on(Down Tuned). The G412 Special with G12h30's takes care of everything else I wanna play with aplomb!

I got the black carpet/metal grill. It's a basic cab, and looks very METAL. I play heavy metal, and it's a very intimidating looking cab. Check it out:

http://www.avatarspeakers.com/pictures/new%20pics/reduced/g412.jpg

Since the cabs are custom, I had it loaded with Celestion G12H80's that were on special.

It has a single input at the back. A cool thing to thing I should mention is that Dave asked me what impedance I wanted the input to be when I ordered it (mine's 8 ohms).

On other nifty thing I noticed was that where the grill screwed in there were rubber plugs to keep the grill from vibrating. Good idea.

I LOVE the handles on the side. They are made of metal instead of plastic for one, and they are a round shape that is comfortable on your hands when you grip and pick up the thing. It's nice not having the handles dig into your hands.

As far as features go, I suppose the only thing lacking would be multiple inputs for if you had an amp with different impedences. But I have everything I need, so it doesn't bother me.

For fifteen bucks, Dave will send some casters when you can screw in. I hightly recommend getting casters because the cab is heavy. You will not want to carry it more than a few feet.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a crappy Ibanez through a Randall Warhead.

I'm very pleased with the sound of the G12H80's. I did my research on them, and they looked right for the sound I go for... I was right. They are very tight. I got a chance to play it next to a Mesa Boogie cab, and noticed that the Avatar seemed a little crisper, more hi-end. I liked it because it gave me my tone that final metal-crunch edge I'd been lacking.

A friend of mine experimented playing all kinds of amps through it, and it sounded great on every tone we could put through it. Aside from my solid-state distortion head, we tried some vintage tube amps, using mostly preamp for bluesy-crunch, then going straight out the power amp for a warm sound. The low end was TIGHT, no muddy bass here. The cab handled anything we put through it level-wise... I almost pictured the Avatar yawning while I cranked my 300-watt Warhead through it. At my next gig, I think I saw a few ears bleeding out in the audience. My only volume limit now seems to be feedback threshold =)

Reliability : 10
This thing is build like a TANK. TOTALLY SOLID. The wood is heavy, and like I said before, the handles are made of METAL, not plastic. I remember a friend of mine who had a crappy Crate bass cab and the handle broke on one side. Moving the thing was a PAIN. I don't see these handles ever breaking.

I like the black carpet because it won't tear off. My last cabs were always getting knock and scraped against wall corners, cymbal stands, other cabs, drunk drummers with sharp objects, etc, and fair amount of the wood underneith got exposed. I don't think I'll be having that problem with this cab.

Customer Support : 10
TALK ABOUT SERVICE. Dave knows how to run his business. I called him up, he was super friendly, I told him I wanted, he asked me a few questions, we said bye, and a few days later, my cabinet showed up sooner than anticipated. I had also emailed Avatar a few questions prior to ordering, and I got a response very quickly.

The good things said about Dave are not unwarranted.

Overall Rating : 10
I want another so I can have a full stack. On my next one, I was considering going w/ a pair of 30's and see how that sounds with my current cab.

If you have to get a Marshall or Mesa cab or whatever so that you can impress your guitar friends with the big name on the front, go right ahead, but I would prefer going with the extremely affordable, high-quality, customizable Avatar.

It's nice to see that all the ravings about Avatar are for a good reason. Avatar was highly recommended to me, now I highly recommend Avatar to others. That's the way it's supposed to work... good product/service = loyal customers.

How many features does a great sounding cabinet need? This thing sounds excellent, and has pretty much the best material (Birch) for a cabinet. I loaded it with Vintage 30's, so it is just impossible to get a bad sound out of it.

Sound Quality : 10
I am play an Ibanez S470 with a Bill Lawrence XL500 humbucker in the bridge position, and stocks for the rest. This cabinet simply makes a piece of shit sound like god. I connect my Line 6 AX2 to it, and it makes it sound good! Just wait till I get my Bogner Shiva. The only thing about this cab to keep in mind is that it is bassy (or my Line 6 speakers are really trebly), so there is a lot of punch, but I really like it. This cab actually makes my amp sound 3-D. My clean channels have ultimate clarity and the distorted channels just sound so much better. My friend is a big gear head, and was trying to tell me that this Avatar cab would suck just because it is at such an affordable price. I told him he was full of it. On the day I got it, he braught his amp to my basement and played through the cab. He was simply amazed that it was that good. He felt like total crap that he baught a 2 x 12 armadillo cabinet when I had this Avatar 4 x 12 loaded with the same speakers for 100 bucks cheaper.

Reliability : 10
This 4 x 12 is built like a rock as far as I can tell. I've only had it for a few days, but let me tell you, it is TOUGH. It is heavy, and is made of the best materials as far as I can tell.

Customer Support : 10
I ordered my cab from these guys Monday, and they told me that it would probably come Friday or later. I had ordered sheet music, and on Thursday, the mail guy came, and I got all excited over my new music. I peak outside, and there is a huge box there. Yep, it was my cab. Now THAT is service. Most places take weeks, and delay the order. Not Avatar.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for about 4 years, but have picked up the guitar, along with a sense of good sound, pretty quickly. If my cabinet were stolen, I would definitely buy it again. Overall, I definitely give this cabinet a 10. It is at the same sound quality as Mesaboogies, and at half of the price. Thank you, Avatar. Finally a reliable piece of equipment in my setup. Now all I need is a change in amp and guitar.

2004 straight cab. loaded with two Celestion Vintage 30's and two Celestion Lead 80's, a very nice combo for tigh bass and smooth mids. It's a pretty basic cabinet, large wood box with four speakers mounted into it, but it looks superb. Can't argue with the basics.

Sound Quality : 9
I play a Gibson SG with and EMG 81 and 85 straight into my Marshall JCM 2000 TSL100. Some may argue that the 2000 series isn't a real Marshall, but the red channel gives me that nice Marshall crunch that I love. I love the bass out of the speakers, I even found myself turning down the bass on the EQ so it wouldn't overpower everything else. I think next time I'll try the Greenbacks, or my maybe something elese when I order my 2X12.

Reliability : 10
It's solid wood, unless you blow the speakers, it's fine. No beer on my cab!

Customer Support : 10
Dave is the man. Period. When I thought I blew out my speakers, he helped me every step of the way. A simply amazing guy. PLeasure to deal with him.

Overall Rating : 10
Can't help but give it a ten. Customizable features + great customer support has won me over. If I ever needa new cabinet or speakers, I will always go Avatar. Even if I got a sponsorship, I'm sure I would still go to Avatar for quality construstion, supreb customer service, and a low price. Thanks Dave!

Hard to rate features as these cabinets are custom, and a little different for each user. For me, it's just what I needed. Simple, 4x12 using two Eminence GB12's on the bottom, and two Eminence V-12's on top.
Covered in carpet, and has the metal grill. Super solid construction with heavy-duty corner protectors. It actually looks like a Hardke bass cabinet. Metal handles are well secured to each side, making moving the thing around an easier task (it weighs over 70 pounds). No casters but, their easy to install if you want them. Mine is wired to 16-ohms mono.

Sound Quality : 10
What can I say? I LOVE THIS CAB! I play mostly classic rock-style music, various blues styles, and some metal. I use several guitars: Gibson Les Paul Standard (1996), Gibson SG Special (2002 with the Moons), Ibanez Musician 300 (1978), Ibanez SA160QM, and a Fender Stratocaster (1970's reissue). For amps I use a Marshall JTM600, 60W head, and a Peavey XXL head. The Gibsons through the Marshall are simply awesome sounding. I don't think I have ever heard a better tone from either of these guitars with any of the Marshall cabinets I've played them through (1960A, 1960TV, 1960BX, and some AVT cabs). This is the sound you have in mind when thinking Marshall rock-n-roll. Excellent crunch (Zeppelin, ZZ-Top, AC/DC) to outragious distortion (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica), all well defined, punchy, and clear. Clean sounds are bottom end punchy with the right amount of twang. The GB12's deliver the bottom end thump while the V-12's are tighter, and have better top end response. The Ibanez Musician is capable of a multitude of sounds due to the coil tapping switches. Using a Strat, I have everthing from Hendrix to Stevie Ray. I'm not a shread player but, our other guitar player is, and he's managed some awesome Malmsteen tones, and George Lynch. Depending on the speakers you select, and there are many combinations with Avatar, any sound you want is available. I think the carpet covering on mine contributes to the warmth of the sound with the Marshall head. The XXL head produces
so many varieties of sounds that I just can't get into all of them here. I'll just say that it also sounds super through this cabinet.

Reliability : 10
This cabinet would likely survive a nuclear blast. It's very solid. The craftsmanship in an Avatar is second to none, and better than most of the high dollar cabinets I've had or played through. As with any cabinet, take reasonable care of it, and it will serve well for years. I expect mine to outlast me but, I'm not as rough with it as some of you may be.

Customer Support : 10
The guys at Avatar are simply the best in this catagory. I can imagine that they get inundated with calls and e-mails but, somehow manage to answer questions within minutes of asking. Dave and the others will do what it takes to get you the cabinet of you dreams in a fast, efficient, and professional manner. Their technical knowledge, and "people" skills combine to satisfy even the most particular customers. I don't think anyone can say that Avatar has let them down in the support category. They know their product, and will provide expert advice to those (me for one) who might be a little unsure of what will work best for them. I have to say that they helped me make the right choice for my style of playing. They have an excellent return policy too if for some unknown reason you want to return it. You guys get several Gold Medals here.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing off and on for about 20 years. I play quite a bit at home, and with other bands when they need a guitar fill. If this cabinet were to be stolen or somehow lost, I'd for sure get another. I have played through a bunch of Marshall cabinets, some Peaveys, a Mesa (not sure what model), and Fenders. Avatar rates with the best as stated earlier, and better than most. Side-by-side with Marshalls, I believe the Avatar is by far the better of the two. Of course the sounds you get will depend on your amps, and guitars but, I believe that Avatar cabinets will give any cabinet a run for the money. Speaking of money, you get all that sound for peanuts! My cabinet cost just $269.00 plus $49.00 shipping. For $318.00 I got a cabinet worth several times that. The speakers alone are worth that! I was about to buy a Marshall 1960BX or TV cabinet when I heard about Avatar. I'm glad I did because it saved me a whole bunch of bucks, and I believe I got a better cabinet. I'll be getting another one later on, probably the angled one so I can have a stack or even run a stereo setup. Super cabinets! Great service! Get one... get a couple. You really can't go wrong with Avatar.
