The orig. speakers and pots numbering indicate 1964 model. Not much versatility, but excellent tone. One channel. R stands for "recoding" model and it has a recording out jack. Use the amp mainly at home , but it has been used on stage by myself a time or two and by the previous owner for years. i personally rate this amp's features so high since I don't need any features.

I use a Fender Big Apple Strat (hardtail) almost exclusively and a standard strat w/tx specials, occasionally. I play mainly blues, blues-based rock and southern rock. The amp has 2x10's. It really sounds sweet and clean. If I want distortion/speaker break-up or a heavy sound, I use my little Peavey c-30 with a celestion greenback.
Reliability
:
No Opinion
This amp is old and I treat it kindly. So, I can't tell you how it would hold up to abuse. But, I've never experienced any problems, therefore I will forgo any rating. Once again, she sounds sweet.

I've e-mailed Gibson requesting any info. (copies of manuals, diagrams, etc.) but have not recieved any feedback. So, screw-em, I'll never buy the LP or 335 i've always wanted (at least, not new).

I've been playing @ 7 yr.s I own my other strat, a simon and patrick acoustic (nice , close action), a peavey classic 3 (my stage rig), a Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal and various other stuff I couldn't live without.
