I think it was made in 2005.Quite a versatile amp.I play greek music(folk, pop)and jazz.It has two channels, one for pickup, one for microphone, compressor, notch filter,EQ with parametric mids,a headphone jack, phantom power(not 48v,)a DI output,12;inch speaker and horn for the high frequencies and ,most of all, the sansamp circuit. It is a well eqpuiped amp, which can be used also as an amp for electric guitars, simply by disconnecting the horn(as I use it with my AF105 IBANEZ).

:9
The variety of sounds of this amp,due to its many features,is vast.In use with my AF 105 IBANEZ (SUPER 58's pickups),I can get a really nice clean-Jim Hall- sound. The parametric mids and tube emulation do all the work!As for my main instument, the bouzouki, you can get quite satisfactory tones, considering that the natural reproduction of the bouzouki's sound is a pane in the ..ss!And you can send it straight to the PA through the DI output.Very convinient. It's not a noisy amp, if you you don't overuse the compressor.

One of the main reasons I bought TECH 21 BW 60 was because of the company's reliability.I think I would use in a caffe gig,as a monitor and DI output, but It's not as light and portable as the AER COMPACT.It has a solid constuction, and its one of the few amps made in USA(if that's true).

I am a professional bouzouki player for 12 years and a jazz-guitar beginner (2 years).I own two hand made bouzoukis, one baglama, one hand made classical guitar and an AF-105 IBANEZ.I own two SHURE microphones,One BETA SM-58 and a BETA SM-57,an ART TUBE STUDIO PREAMP, a BEHRINGER MIXER, and the BOSS EQ PEDAL.Thiw is a two-in-one amp!The 12 inch speaker, the high frequency horn, and the sans amp circuit let you experiment with your sound, both acoustically and electrically.I bought as a quality practice amp,but its much more han that. It's a professional's tool.

Great little, lightweight two channel amp that works fine for small coffee-house gigs or rehearsing in the basement. The line out makes it a great preamp/DI to the board if you're using it in a band or church situation. The very popular TECH21 Acoustic DI sells for about half the price of one of these amps and the DI lacks the speaker, reverb, second channel, and so on - so, it's a great bargain and, honestly, it's not much heavier than the DI - although, you can't throw the amp in your guitar case as you can the DI... The XLR channel does a good enough job for vocals or as a stereo channel for a dual sourced guitar.

This amp has lots of adjustability so you're bound to find a setting or two that you'll fall back on regularly. I have used this amp with my Taylor ES, Takamine's digital preamp and Fishman's Blender. Recently, I have been using this to rehearse with my Taylor T5 and of all my acoustic amps, I like the sound of magnetic pickups out of this amp the best. With any of my guitars I can always dial in a useable sound pretty quick. I have never gigged with this amp but have spent many hours rehearsing on it. I usually play out with my Mackie PPM or a Genz Benz Shen 200 but if all else failed, I would have no problem playing out with this little guy. Volume is adequate and, actually, quite loud but I don't think there's enough headroom for a solo bar gig - definitely powerful enough for the coffee shop circuit, though. The tube compression circuit definitely seems to add some "woody breathiness" to the overall sound.

I have been playing for over 30 years. I'm not actively playing out at the present time but in the past I have played every ski area and ski town bar in Colorado and most of the bars & coffee shops around Wrigley Field & the suburbs of Chicago. If I lost this amp, I don't know that I would go out of my way to replace it. There are a lot of acoustic amps on the market these days. But, for the money I'm guessing this is still one of the better bargains out there. It's definitely the lightest acoustic amp I ever owned (Trace Elliot, Crate, Carvin, Roland) which is a very good thing. I like the fact that it does double duty as a very high quality DI. I have to give this thing a 10 - sounds good, light, very versatile, dependable and priced where just about anyone with a job can afford to own one.

I bought the amp off a seller on eBay back in September of 2001. It was used as a demo, but in excellent condition.
The other reviews sum up the features well enough. I might add that mine has a nice, faux alligator skin finish and a carrying handle up top. The amp has a knob that allows you to control the mix of reverb between the two channels.
I haven't heard many reverb units, so take this with a grain of salt. But I think that for the price, the reverb on this unit is pretty nice. It's got a nice, organic-ish/analog feel to it.
Two gripes in the features department: first, the amp is quiet for its size. It needs more volume. Less importantly, a 3rd channel would be nice (ala Carvin's acoustic amp)

I use the amp in conjunction with a 1997 Taylor 410CE. I go from the guitar to a boss TU-2, and from the tuner to the amp. The XLR out on the back is really handy for plugging into a PA. The sound of the amp is, in my opinion, very musical and warm. It tends to feed back at high volumes, but that's not really the amp's fault, I guess. It does have some white noise at moderate volume levels; the noise becomes more pronounced with as the volume goes up.

*sigh* Here's the weak point of this amp and of Tech 21 in general. I've had multiple problems with the amp:
1) The handle started to crack and eventually came off once about a year ago.
2) One of the nut securing the head (i.e. amplifier/controls section) to the rest of the amp broke, causing the head to sag a bit in the corner where there was no bolt.
3) One problem, the cause of which I don't recall offhand. Some bit of circuitry fried (I got #'s 1 through 3 fixed all at the same time).
4) Fuse and heat sink needed replacing. When I got it back, I found that the bolt mentioned in #1 had come off again.
One downside is that the only authorized service techs are in NY at Tech 21. So if you want the amp serviced by Tech 21, you have to pay the shipping there. Tech 21 pays the return shipping, though. Guess you could have someone else service it, but I figure Tech 21 knows their amps best, since they built 'em.
I do gig a lot, however, so no matter how careful I am, the amp still gets bumped and jostled from time to time. And it was a demo unit. So maybe the problems I've experienced are more a matter of my own amp and not representative of Tech 21's quality in general.
Since this is my only amp, I don't know exactly what qualfies as "unreliable" I've had two breakdowns in as many years, and maybe 200+ gigs and rehearsals. That's pretty decent, I guess. I'd gig without a backup, mainly because I can't afford another one, and don't really want anything else.

Excellent customer support. I get responses to my emails within 24 hours. Needed the manual and they emailed me a scanned version. Needed RA numbers for service, and they got back to me promptly. Serviced and shipped my amp promptly both times I sent it in for repair.

I've been playing for about 8 years and, for all its problems, I really like this amp - so much so, that if it were stolen, I'd definitely replace it with the same amp. I just don't think you can beat it for the price. Didn't really try other amps of the same price range, but I don't think I'm missing out on much.

This 60 watt amp has two channels, one with xlr, the other with 1/4 inch for guitar. Phantom power is available for the xlr. Spring reverb is available for both channels, and is adjustable. Tube simulation is provided and adjustable, as is compression.

I use it with a Taylor acoustic with Highlander pick-up and a Larrivee
acoustic with Fishman Prefix plus. Clean sound, and the tone controls are active, so much sound shaping is possible. However, yes, slight
white noise at increased volume as another reviewer has stated, but I don't use the compression part, and it's probably more problematic with that. The overall sound, however is rich, and reverb is very, very good.
I use a Shure Beta 87A condenser mic, and the vocal sound is great.

I have been playing acoustic guitar for over 30 years. I have also owned a Crate 60 watt and 125 watt acoustic amps, a Yorkville 100 watt(very nice), and have tried Marshalls, Riveras, Fenders, Genz-Benz. I haven't heard any better sound when voice and guitar are considered.
This is a singer's amp! A special imput for dual systems would have been nice, and it's too bad the power engine 60t(powered extension)has been discontiued, but I can supplement the power (for bigger gigs) with my JBL Eon 10's. If this were lost or stolen, I would replace it as soon as I could.

2 channel (1/4" guitar input, xlr mic input), compression control, reverb (channel controllable), 3 band eq (mid-range adjustable on guitar channel), quite a bit of tone control.

I play strictly acoustic (bluegrass - D28 and classical - cedar topped nylon, it's true, don't laugh). I use a mic (Shure SM57) either through a mixer or directly into the amps xlr in. Feedback is a little hard to control since you do have to set the gain or volume levels pretty high (well over their mid-point) to get decent volume from the amp. But the eq, reverb, and blend (tube amp simulator) give you quite a bit of control over sound. Using a mic directly into the xlr in is very clean. See comparison to Fender and Crate in "Overall Rating", below.

I had the opportunity of comparing (side by side) the Bronzewood and Fender Acoustasonic Jr (although only 30 watts, my test volume wasn't pushing either amp). The Fender had a thin, brittle sound and I had little control over it (the simple 3 band eq did nothing but change the apparent frequency of the brittleness). With a little experimentation, the Bronzewood gave me full, rich tone and I had a lot of control over it. The music store across the street had Acoustasonic Jr (30 watt), Acoustasonic 60 (60 watt), and a Crate 60 watt acoustic amps. All three sounded pretty much the same (thin and brittle), nothing at all like the Bronzewood. They also had a 100 watt Trace Elliot which sounded great, but cost over $1000 (out of reach for me). The Tech 21 sounded a lot closer to the Trace Elliot than it did to any of the Fenders or the Crate. If you're looking at amps in the $500 range be sure to consider this one.

Two channel, 60 watt acoustic combo. Effects loop, XLR out, great reverb, and it's pretty light. I wish it had a chorus effect built in, but I can't think of one thing it really lacks to get the job done. I would agree with the previous submission that this amp seems a bit shy on power, but it's been enough for me in almost any venue so far.

I use the Bronzewood with a Taylor 314 with the standard Fishman pickup/preamp. As a previous submission says, this amp can have white noise. However, I have found this to be true only when the compression is on and/or when the reverb is up more than halfway. Otherwise this amp is very quiet. The sound of the amp is really good, and the reverb is fantastic. The blend control can change your sound quite a bit, and the eq controls also provide for a wide spectrum of sounds. I've never played anything better than this.

If it were stolen I would look at some other things, but I doubt I'd find anything I like as well. It's got a lot of good features and sound for not too much money. Plus it's covered in fake crocodile skin instead of boring black or brown. I did try Fender and Crate amps, wanted to try SWR but couldn't find one near, but I chose this amp because of the great tone it has.

Solid state 60 watt two channel acoustic guitar amplifier with built-in compressor and Sansamp tube emulation. Second channel provides vocal mic input with separate tone and reverb control.

This is one of the most transparent and warm acoustic amps I have ever heard. The E.Q. variability is amazing. Just a little knob movement dramatically alters the tone. The reverb is deep and more "up front" than most. This thing will make even the thinnest passive piezo pickup sound good. I have tried my Ovation, Takamine, my friend's Yamaha and a cheap classic with a cheesy transducer and I can dial in a great tone for each. Now for the downside. Although it is a 60 watt amp, it is a tad shy on horsepower. It sounds more like 40 watts. This thing will work great for small coffee shop gigs, but lacks the headroom for loud gigs without lining out. Since the amp needs to be turned up a little more to breath, it has a bit more "white noise" through both the speaker and the line out than most of it's more popular competitors, such as the Crate CA-60 and Fender Acoustisonic. I was told by Tech 21 that the Sansamp tube simulation circuit is somewhat responsible. It is a trade off for the warmth. This noise is minor, considering how wonderful this thing sounds. To me, the sound truly is a 10, but the lower output and slight noise, lowers the rating somewhat to perhaps an 8 (to be fair and honest to most readers of this review).

An incredibly sturdy and attractive acoustic guitar and vocal amp with the clearest tone I have ever heard in an acoustic guitar amp. A single guitar channel and a single vocal/mic channel, each with their eq controls, and reverb blend adjust on the vocal/mic channel that allows you to control the amount of reverb being used between the two channels. Solid State - warm. I don't sing - but since there was no one around - I broke into song!!!! I couldn't help myself!!! It really opens your ears and makes you want to examine every sonic feature in the amp.

Hey, I would really like to read a review on this "puppy." I do alot of acoustic/electric stuff and I'm looking for an amp similar to the Bronzewood 60. I've been surfing around for review info on the Bronzewood, with no luck. Anybody got one of these guys?

My main guitar is a Carvin AC175 Acoustic Electric played through a Mesa/Boogie V-twinn preamp pedal (love those tubes!) I currently alternate between my Fender Pro Jr. for my electric stuff, but the AC175 has a terrible sound through it. I really am looking for an acoustic/electric amp.
