This is the amp that changed my attitude about amps. Wasn't sure I liked it at first as there is not a ton of headroom to get shimmering clean tones, but the magic of this amp is far deeper than that and takes a little time to work with. I have had the 210, the 112 alnico and the 212. The 212 gives the separation and clarity that I am looking for. Te 210 is louder and a little more in your face. The 112 alnico is a little more overdriven and flappy papery than the 212, but it has a wonderful appeal. Can go from bedroom level (a loud bedroom level) to stage level. This is not a channel switching amp (although it does have boost and tremelo).

Sound Quality : 10
Phenomenal. Vintagey, warm and lush. Gives me goosebumps. I am selling my Marshalls.

So far so good. Built like a tank.

Haven't tried but their reputation is stellar.

Can't say enough good about 65 Amps. As a result of purchasing the London(s) I went on to get a Rocket 88, Marquis Club, Monterey and Soho as well as some extension cabs. Help me before I buy again. What's left? Oh yeah, the Albert and the Elvis.

Considering that this amp is basically two amps in one, the argument could easily be made for a 10; that being said, this amp is flawless. Unleashed in 2005, this amp nails so many different genres they can't all be listed - suffice it to say it won't do metal. Two separate channels and preamp circuits, so you'll need an A/B, which I like. Unless you own a Matchless Indy or Bad Cat your channel switchers are PCB based anyways (Dr. Z and Mako might have PTP channel switchers - I'm not sure on that one). Plenty of power on tap and a surprising amount of clean headroom for an 18 watter. One channel is based loosely on a Vox AC15 and the other a Marshall 18 watt with tremolo. Both sides have a volume and tone control, and a global cut control for further tone shaping. The AC15 side also has a boost feature that is outta site!

Sound Quality : 10
I use humbuckers, single coils, and P-90s and they all sound stellar via the colour switch on the AC15 side, which is a 6 position rotary that dials in more mids as you move up numerically. My band plays original roots/southern rock and it nails it. It is dead quiet even at high volumes. This amp is based on classic circuits (updated to sound better!) and that is what you get. There are two inputs per channel and the -6db (low) inputs are extremely usable, in fact, they are what I use live for a little added clean headroom. On many other amps those inputs are horrible. The Vox side will give you nice chime and shimmer up to about 4-5 and then it just gets a wonderful overdriven tone with just a touch of natural compression via the EZ81 rectifier, and when you engage the boost forget about it!!! The Marshall side has a thicker clean tone that breaks up wonderfully as well and the tremolo is great - very buttery sounding with a deep throb or slimmer pulse. Low powered amps are the way to go! I can't put into words how great this amp really is; so very touch responsive and articulate. One could easily do gigs without a single pedal, just a guitar and volume/tone knobs. I get a ****-** every time I plug in and play.

Reliability : 10
If you are reading this then you have some idea of the construction techniques and components these folks are using. I gig without a back-up all the time and never even think about it. Lifetime Warranty - 'nuff said.

My amp was the floor model at Cowtown Guitars and I got a screaming deal on it, but they couldn't find the footswitch for the boost/trem. I called 65 and asked if I could buy one from them and they overnighted one to me at no cost. That's all right!

Overall Rating : 10
I've played for about 20 years with a little downtime here and there - always original music. I've owned a lot of vintage and booteek gear and this amp just does it for me. Like I said before, I get a ****-** every time I play it.

Amp was purchased new in 2007 from Long Beach CA guitar dealer. I read the other review however I do not mind leaving the boost channel on and already had an A/B switch box for changing channels. I use this amp for live gigs and studio work. At first I was concerned about it only being rated at 18 watts however it is plenty loud to compete with our drummer and the advantage is that when turned up gets a nice meaty tone. I have yet to run it wide open even when playing at a larger bar.

Sound Quality : 10
Quiet and fat sounding. You can really tell the difference with each guitar I have and how the pickups interact with the amp. I almost bought a divided by 13 which is a fine amp but chose this one because it handled humbuckers as well as single coils, a feat the 13 could not match. In addition according to company co founder Dan Bouls they designed the amp to still get a heavy tone when turned down low. I had a couple of questions about the amp after I bought it and called him on the phone. One thing that I think is significant about this amp is the use of premium components such as mercury magnetics and sozo caps so there are no mods or upgrades available or necessary. It also came with JJ tubes which after listening to them I installed them in my fender Tweed Twin reissue.

Reliability : 10
No problems after 6 months of regular use. Quality components in equals the best likeylhood of success.

No problem getting them on the phone. Again no issues.

I have been playing semi pro for 30 years. As mentioned above I have a tweed twin that I purchased after seeing cream on their last tour. I was surprised they they cut a corner on the output coupling caps on such an expensive amp. For few dollars they could take a great amp and make it exceptional by adding non-generic caps. 65 does not cut any corners. The amps are well thought out and sound great right out of the box. The controls are easy to use and sound stunning. Next on my list is a 1962 brown deluxe after seeing Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs a few weeks back.

2 ch amp. Marshall/Trem(12AX7) and a Vox AC15/Boost(EF86). Simple amp with lots of tones. Very Loud 18w amp!! Celestion Blue/12H30's. You need an A/B type sw to go from one ch to the other. Minor drag. Trem is nice. I use it for a few songs, but I am not a trem junkie. The Boost on the Vox ch is very cool. I leave it one %95 of the time. The ch sounds great on 7-8 with the boost off. Cut control is global, and subtle. You can do a whole gig on either ch if you use the guitars Volume control. Some guys run the Vox high for crunch/leads, and the Marshall cleaner. I do the opposite. I wish the Boost volume jump was controllable, and the amp had internal ch switching, but not a show stopper at all. The amp is flexible in a Vintage tone way. Not a POD way.

Sound Quality : 10
I have owned Matchless, Bad Cat, Dr. Z's, Carr. Tone King, Two Rock, Marshall and so on. This is my fave by a mile or two. Lots of great tones in the amp. The Feel is what I love as much as the tone. This amp "feels" wonderful at home or on stage. I play most every weekend Classic rock/Blues stuff. I smile every gig when I get to play! The amp is run hard all night, and it's quiet! I play both ch's...Vox ch boosted, Volume on 4, click on 5. Marshall ch is on 8. The Vox side for cleaner stuff/crunch, and the Marshall side for pure Rockin' fun! I play 2 EJ strats %75 of the time, and a new VOS '57 Junior the rest of the night.
The amp loves pedals, but I only use 2 or 3. MY trusty v1 OCD, sometimes an MXR EVH phaser, and a DL3 for some reverby delay sometimes. I could just use the OCD and be VERY happy.

The amp is Vintage tone all the way. With strats, it's very VERY useful at any Volume, and the sensitivity is Trainwreck like with less gain. With an R8 I had, it was pure Rock with little clean tone, but I play loud as hell. With the Jr it's got some cleans, but not in the Fender twin/super house, but loud Marshall/Vox cleans. With Strats, its unbelievably fun to play.

A few tips...The Marshall side needs more Tone as you turn up the volume. I run the tone on 8 when the Volume is on 8, and I back the tone down as I back off the volume. The more tone, the more gain as well. Mixed with the cut, this channel is can do allot. This channel has the Lowmid/uppermid Marshall tone.

The Vox Ch is cool as well. Just set the tone on 5-8 and volume on 8 un boosted. Great tone for edgy cleans. Pop the boost on and set the amp on 3 or more. Matchless break-up right now! More top and bottom and less Marshally mids. Fantastic break-up. Absolutely the most swirly chime tone I have every played when using my EJ's. Use fingerstyle on this channel. It's fantastic. Crank it to 6 and use the Guitars volume to get clean. This ch has a ton of harmonic gain, and can get very distorted. A bad EF86 will not work with this much volume! For 5 months I think the Vox side was my Fav, but I have found myself on the Marshall side more and more.

I have no back-up, but I do have lots of tubes. I Have NOS stuff in her, but other than the EF86, you do not "need" them. JJ's sound great. The EF86 is a pain untill you get a good one. I have one good EF86 for over 6 months but I have tried others with no luck....The Head version is prolly more forgiving than the combo. My amp is an early non serial number amp from the fist 50. Dan wants me to send it in for a few tweeks, but I have no other amp and gigs every week. I will send it in when I have a few weeks off. It's like Matchless/Two Rock build. MM iron, Great cab build. The handle is falling apart as I just use a Tuki cover and not a road case. Dan said he would give me a new one. Some of the imput jacks came loose, but my youngest (under2) has been known to work the cords if I leave them in....I had a NOS recto go bad after 4 months, but Dan said NOS is not needed for the London, and highly recomended the new EH EZ81. I love Bugle Boy and Brimar 12AX7's in the london. Esp the BB!!! ANY good sounding EF86 is worth it in my opinion. Good luck with that tube.... I run this amp loud as hell for hours on end with nothing but great tone.

Customer Support : 10
Steller!!!!! The best I have delt with. Dr Z can be real good as well, but Dan REALLY cares about his amps!!!!

Overall Rating : 9
Over 20 years. I own no other amp's after this one. I would cry if this was stolen, I would but another London absolutely. This amp is loud, but too loud. I run no mic most nights and it's great. The amp had that something extra that I feel every time I fire it up. My Matchless Clubman Proto was like this as well. VERY special sounding. Very pricy amp, but if you find it works for you, it's worth it.
