New for 2007/08. Lookout Tweed Fender Deluxe owners! 18 Watts of pure tweed tone with an AC 30 twist. This amp will debut at NAMM but I managed to get one of the first production models. Matched up with a 2X12 65 cab loaded with a vintage blue and 30 and what a tone monster. These amps are starting to pop up on stage with a lot o different players and this one definitely has a modern country/classic rock vibe. Couple of cool features including a tone bump and defeatable master volume. Loud for just 18 watts. High and low inputs with easy to read and understand controls. Everything I need in an amp.

Sound Quality : 10
Quiet tone monster. Has that Tom Petty fat clear slightly distorted sound. Nails the "Come Together" sound of the Beatles on Abbey Road or early Neil Young. Handles pedals well in particular a keely modified tube screamer. Play a P90 loaded Les Paul historic and a fender nocaster which match up great with this amp. The only downside is it is expensive but better to have one great amsp than several pieces of crap.

Reliability : 10
Like I mentioned starting to see them on touring band stages including Bon Jovi, John Fogerty, Keith Urban etc. These players can have any amp they want so if they make it through their tours it should handle my club gigs. I have had it for a month and no issues.

Called and spoke to one of the owners (can't remember his name). Told him what I was looking for and it was down to this and a London. I have a Matchless DC 30 and so I wanted something a little on the American side. I have never been really happy with the tone of the reissue fenders including the tweed reissues and did not want to invest the money or have the reliability issues of buying a vintage piece so I went with the Memphis. Good choice. However after having gotten this one I am saving up for a London.

Overall Rating : 10
As I mentioned I have the tele and the Les Paul along with the Matchless. All good pieces of gear and this Memphis fits right along with them. Cranked it up playing this weekend and when played at stage volume really shined. I thought about a divided by 13 but tried one along with this one a Wild West guitars and the 13 did not sound as good with the pedals or P90s. Also looked at Dr Z which I liked but no master volume blew me out of the room in order to get the same snarl.
