This is a basic stereo tube amplifier, rated at 50 watts per channel,
probably closer to 35 - 40 WPC as a high fidelity power amp.
With good quality EL34 tubes it rivals the legendary and super
expensive Marantz 8B, - which also uses 4 EL34's, in sound quality.
The transformers are robust, and the output is powerful and never
shows any sign of strain. You have to get painfully loud to overdrive
this amp. Fan cooling protects the tubes.

I use this primarily as a high-fi amp in a very nice stereo system.
I've used it for amplifying my vintage Gretsch 6120 and the sound is
drop-dead gorgeous through a dual JBL D-120 cabinet. (Hafler T-3 preamp). It's actually more than I need for the guitar, but it gives me
some beautiful, natural, and effortless from my stereo system. I plan
on having it around for a long time to come.

Never had a problem. It just works, and works beautifully.

Never called ADA - never needed to. Now they're out of business and that's a real shame.

Overall, a superb piece of equipment. I'd recommend it to anyone, but
that finding one will be next to impossible. Owners, like myself, don't
want to let them go.

Straight forward and powerful. Dual EL34's give it that sought after Brit tone.Playing with a J-Station as pre and into Marshall cab with 16ohm Tone tubbies.I use an 80's Dana Scoop. This to me is a very versatile setup. The J lets me choose different amp configs and the ADA gives it that tube power.I have always believed that true tone comes from the poweramp more so than the pre.Very happy with this setup. A wall of sound and easy to use.

This amp is hot, very hot. I've had a boogie 50/50 before and I must say that this amp suits me more. With the 50/50 I had to deal with a too compressed sound, which I could't deal with. Now I've got tube tone with less compression on the low end, just love it.
The amp is very noisy, but it's not the signal. The cooling fan makes a bit of noise, not disturbing, but the trafo (Dutch for the device that converts 220 Volts to the needed Volts, not sure what that is)
When you crank it up, there's no worrie, he amp is loud enough to fade away the noise.
I use an Ada MP-1 Classic, Rocktron Replifex, BBE 422A and a Rocktron Pro-Hush, all in serial, no fx loops. For speakers I use a Behringer BG412S with Jensen Speakers, definately the best 4x12 I've had for the lowest price. My rig sounds huge!!!
I Play symphonic/progressive rock, bit of metal and definately adore my sound. It's not that bombastic undefinable modern sound with too much lows and less definition (yes, I like to listen to my mistakes and learn from them)

Tubes are alway a critical issue.....If you treat the amp gently I will give you neverending pleasure, but If you turn the power off and dump it in the back of your van, without cooling down, it's your own fault!!

The company is gone, there's one resource on the internet that really helps out: www.adadepot.com There's loads of info on the website as well as on the message board. Got problems with Ada, you'll find any solution over there.

I play for 13 years now and have searched all the time for a good sound that suits me. My search is over, all I want to do know is to make a second rig with the same stuff, just for backup, you never know. I play mostly Ibanez guitars (SZ520QM, RG527, RG1527, JS1000, RG560/570), I play loud rock orientated music, no real shredding, just loud with just enough gain, better definition. Before I had a solid state (Rocktron Velocity) a Mesa 50/50 and this one is made for me. In my opinion it's a matter of personal flavour, my flavour this time.

A 1980s stereo tube power amp - 50 watts per side. Two el34's per channel. Fan cooled. On the front there's standby & power switches, and volume & presence knobs for each channel. On the back there's an impedence selector for each channel and 1/4" ins and outs for each channel. There's also an aux power outlet, very convenient. What else do you need in a power amp?

Plug your favorite preamp in here and it does a good job warming up the sound. It hasn't been noisy for me, a nice surprise. You have to crank it to get saturation, it's really too loud for me. Plenty of headroom. I used to go mono straight from preamp to the board, now I go stereo into T100S out to two 1X12's. Sounds great now. Nice and warm, and no mud.

It's been good to me, I can't afford a backup. No tube products should get a 10 on reliability, but I can't complain.

ADA is long gone. Find any good tube amp tech, it's not a complex box.

Can't replace it if it's stolen, they just can't be found! It's a great sounding tube power amp, I would look for another similar one, maybe with a little less power, it's way loud.
