I bought the amp new in the '71 time frame after I got out of the Navy and some friends wanted me to play so I looked around the the price was right. (I have no clue what it was now.) Amp was purchased at King Music in Albuquerque, NM. Always used the 2nd channel since it had the effects. It stayed locked up in the closet for about 4 years between 74 and 78 and it got put to use in a country band for about 2 years. I used a '65 Epiphone Riviera all times it got used. It then sat in the closet until '93 when it got put back in use with a cover band. I used it for a couple of years and then bought a lighter amp to tote around. When using it for rehersal one day it quit working. After leaving it sit I finally looked into it and found one of the speaker wires had come loose. Doh!!!!. Have run a LP Deluxe and Tele through it and it has a really great sound and man it can be really loud! After 35 years it still cranks. (Now that I hooked the speaker wire back up!)

Always clean. Tele with Seymour Duncan in the bridge position. 50's Strat reissue with Texas special pick-ups. Really clean even at higher levels which I don't put it on since it can be so loud.

35 years and I missed the loose speaker wire. Other than that it is rock solid. Even if it feels like it is weighted down with them.

Never had to deal with repairs and they now are out of business so it should be easy for any good shop to fix if needed

45 years but still a hack. Fender DSP 90. Peavey Bandit. Marshall AVT50. Riviera Pubster. Tele, 2 Strats, LP Deluxe, Epi Riviera, Takamine 12, Garrison Acoustic. If I lost it it couldn't be replaced since they are so hard to find. Love the sound hate the weight. Wish it had wheels. Downsizing is pushing me to sell this nice amp. It really is in good condition for it's age. Still have the foot pedal and cover for it.

I bought this amp used in 1984 for $200. Took it home and plugged in my Fender Duosonic. Made a mistake and fired it up on the back porch. Damn near rattled the screen door off its hinges. This amp FIRED up the entire valley. Very clean sound. If I want distortion I use an effects box. I found out a little later that it only had one of the two speakers functioning. Had a little speaker shop replace the voice coil on these EVM's for nine dollars. Then the earth moved. The other guitarist in the group liked his Marshall stack and liked to be the loudest in the band. Too bad. He lost. I've had this 100 lb. boat anchor since and will not give it up. It is the best sounding, most reliable, and most powerful amp I've ever played on. Albeit my experience is limited, this unit must be tried before dismissing it. I've never had the cojones to take it past 6 ot 7. After that vertigo and nausea set in due to an audio rift in the force.

I use my Fender Duosonic with original pickups and a Gibson "The Paul" hardbody. The Fender plays cleanly until I overdrive the pots and the Gibson gives a really gutty, crunchy sound. Tasty!

Other than the broken voice coil that I didn't know was hosed (and subsequently repaired) ther have been no problems. The only down side to this unit is the risk of hernia lugging it up three flights of stairs that I had to do several times.

Never found them. I understand that they are no longer in business. What a shame. More of these need to be out there.

I bought this used after trying it out quietly in the store. It's got great reverb and sounds almost tube like with strat. Turning it up makes it a little bit harsh in the high end. It has 2 channels but no mid control on either. I think this was originally designed as a Keyboard amp. Two twelve inch speakers and an extra outlet on the rear panel. I use this to plug in an Ibanez tk999. Great distorted tone with this setup.

I use a LES Paul standard with a Dimarzio superdistortion pu. Usually I tune up to Eb. It's not noisy. I also replaced the speakers with some Peavy's I had sittin' around. This helped with the harsh high end as they are 30 watt speakers.

It's solid state so just don't pour any beer into the input jacks and you should be OK.

I was looking for a solid state amp to use when my tube heads are in the shop. This has as much volume as my Marshall and great rock tone with the right pedal in front of it. It's kinda hard to transport but no more than a half stack is.

I bought this used for 330 dollars. It was beat up pretty badly. It has the original 12" CTS ceramic speakers, and it has 2 channels, one with just Bass, Treble, Volume, & a "Bright" switch; the other channel has Bass, Treble, Volume, "Bright" switch, Reverb, Tremolo Intensity & Speed Knobs. It's solid state. It does not have pre-post gain, just clean. If you want overdrive or distortion use a good pedal and this amp rocks, bottom line.

I love the tone this amp has! It is very powerful! It cuts through the mix incredibly well. The tone is AMAZING. It does "Fender tube clean" better than Fender tube amps. You have the best of both worlds if you use a Rat pedal on this amp, awesome clean, with ballsy bottom end, and good long-pan reverb. The stock speakers sound incredible, and have been blasted at full volume with & without distortion boxes, and have not failed in the least (I'm totally impressed). They have the square magnet on the rear of the speakers, and they are original to the combo; my research tells me they are CTS (Jensen or Eminence). I use a Vintage Rat distortion pedal on this amp, and it is just like having a high-powered Marshall, and a high powered clean Fender all in one. I was offered $700 after a gig for the amp; I would not sell it. I wouldn't sell it for $1000; they don't make these anymore, and they are incredibly rare.

As beat up as this amp looks, it is tough as nails! Solid state, and sounds like the finest tube stack ever. If anything burnt out or broke, I'd just take it to a good amp shop and fix it for a few bucks. I'm considering having Doug Stalters make a custom hardwood combo cabinet made for the chassis, speakers, & reverb pan, and have him go over the caps & pots, etc. to give it a clean bill of health... then it will be PERFECT!!!!!

They are out of business, but any amp tech can fix a problem for cheap on a solid state amp, so no worries!

I purchased an Acoustic-135 in 1973. I used it on and off the road until 1982 when I purchased another amp. I had hired another guitarist who did not have an amp at the time so, I let him use the Acoustic. He used it for the three years that he worked for me and loved it so much, I sold it to him. He has since bought another amp and is no longer using it. I am trying to get in touch with him so I can buy it back.

During the time that I used the Acoustic-135, I played a Fender Telecaster and an Ovation Classical through it. It always put out one of the best and cleanest sounds I've ever heard.

I never had the amp break down on a gig. I had to have the reverb unit replaced once but, that was due to it being dropped from the back of a flat bed trailer after playing a street dance. One of the springs inside the reverb "can" broke. I never lost any time while it was being repaired. The Acoustic repair center had it fixed in less than an hour.

Acoustic Control Corporation honored the warranty without question, event though the amp had been dropped. This was after I had had it for over 12 years.

I played professionally from 1968 to 1990. If Acoustic were still in business, I would buy from them again. Presently I have a Peavey-Special with a single 12 inch speaker. After my last Telecaster was stolen (I had 3 over the years), I bought a Peavey T-60 and still have it. I will someday buy another Telecaster to go with it.
