Another of Acoustic's great early 70's pro player line. With the use of the 470 head and 403 bottom the 473 rocks no matter what you play. Can be used for lead, bass or keyboards. The amp advertises as two channel however only one channel is used as you can switch between the settings of the two channels via footswitch. Each channel features a bright and a lead/bass switch. It is rated at 170 watts RMS into 4 ohms. The 4 x 12" 403 bottom gets down pretty low.
Sound Quality

With the 12" speakers, the higher end of the bass G string as as well as the low end of the E (Sorry using a 4 string bass comparison) resonate some decent sound. Distortion (Unwanted kind) is not very evident at most sub-ear bleading levels. There is a distortion switch/knob on board if you need it. Unfortunately this guy is also like so many other acoustic amps, powerful, not exactly a practice amp, best suited for bigger clubs. The output level at 1 is overpowering for most rehersal environments.

Had the power trannies blow several years ago (decades) and had to have the switch cleaned a few years back.

I have been playing on and off since 1971. I love Acoustic stuff and wish they had kept their line to pro line stuff and not cheapened themselves.
