This amp was made in the 60's and is a Valcro sold through Montgomery Wards. Gotta be one of the best kept secrets because there is nothing on the web about them! Has a VERY brown tone - one channel w/2 inputs - Volume, Tone, & Tremolo control w/footswitch jack.
Two 12AX7's a 5Y3-GT & a 6V6-GT kick the heck out of 6" Jenson Special desing speaker. For recording I use a Neumann U87 or AKG 414 - add a touch of room ambient reverb and my GAWD - nobody can believe the tone of this tiy monster.

Works best with a humbucker. REALLY likes a Seymour Duncan JB. For early CREAM-type tones and Buddy Guy-type blues it's hard to beat (especially when used witha a Candler Tuber Driver). This Airline sits next to Boogies & Vintage Fenders (Princeton & Deluxe Reverbs) but still gets called on regularly!

I never took this amp to a gig. The low wattage prevents that. But I think it would be a harmonica players dream amp if mic'd correctly. The amp has never broken down and will more than likely out live me!

I've been playing for 40 years and still do so professionally. I make a living releasing CD's, gigging & running my recording studio. I have a wide assortment of vintage amps. Fender - Marshall - Vox - Boogie - Gibson - Rickenbacher - Kay - Gretsch - Ampeg - Orange - Kustom - etc. etc. If I lost this amp - yea, I'd try and find another (but that seems impossible) It is a studio workhorse!
