I own this amp as well and your reviews here finally helped me learn who made the thing haha. My Gramma bought it brand new in 1968 for my Dad for about $125 (I think) when he lost his driver's license haha. He gave it to me when I was about 14 or so and wanted to learn guitar. He also gave me the 1968 Harmony guitar she had bought with the amp. Thats what I learned to play on... but I never had a cabinet to hook it up to and I can't tell you how many sets of stereo speakers I blew that Dad had rigged up for me!

Recently I purchased one of Marshall's low-end MG series halfstacks from my band's former guitar player. The cabinet is ok and the power of the head is fine... but the distortion on the thing is terrible! I play in a metal band and I like the Digitech Metal Master stompbox for my distortion needs. A few weeks ago I decided to try hookin up Dad's old amp to my Marshall cab and see how it sounded. Much to my amazement it sounded GREAT! I love the Digitech stomp through the vintage tube amp!

Dad was able to find replacement parts for it before, though I still think the originals are in it now. But even so, I still wanted to find out who made the thing cause it doesn't say anywhere on it. All these years I never noticed the "Model 62-9058" written very small on the left hand side. A few days after posting that on the Guitar World forum, I got a link to your site and reviews here and could tell immediately that it was the same amp they're talking about!

It's got 2 channels with 4 inputs and a volume & tone knob for each channel. It's got a great classic rock sounding tremolo with frequency and intesity controls and a pretty good reverb too. Also has a footswitch jack (I don't have original footswitch though), stand-by and line reverse switches.

I posted a picture of the amp at this url, if anyone wants to check to make sure thats what they've got or just to take a look.

I got this little baby from my bass player. I traded a Sony turntable for it! Excellent trade! He had it serviced by a professional who told him it is a 1968 amp. I don;t know what was wrong with it before, but it was looked at. It looks like a prop from the old "Lost In Space" TV show. Unlike the Jupiter 4, this baby takes off! It is a creamy color with an aluminum face- almost flawless save two minor surface scratches. Tolex is in good shape. It has 2 channels of pure joy, and the greatest built in tremolo known to man.Very "Crimson and Clover" sounding!! It also is equipped with a cool reverb setting that would make a Fender Twin Reverb proud. It has only 2 pots per channel: Volume and Tone. What a find! It was issued with a footswitch, but I don't have it. Did I mention it is a tube amp? Original tubes, I believe. RCAs.Seems to be 50 watts. I hope I got the model number correct, as the last digit is hard to decipher, Either an eight, a three or a five. I am going to start gigging with this amp, using it to run my theremin.I have tracked down an Airline Cabinet to couple this up to.

I have played virtually all my guitars through this amp. I have it plugged through a Marshall JCM 900 bottom. Whooaa!! I really enjoy playing my Danelectro 59 DC through it, just for that vintage sound. This baby cooks! I use a Danelectro FabTone for distortion. Meaty sound. The tremolo is way cool 60's. A simplistic set up- user friendly as hell.

Reliability : No Opinion
Never gigged with it, though I have practiced with it on occasion. It is no Marshall, but if I ran this through a half stack at a gig, it would work! The tubes seem to be original. Pretty untouched and original.

I have been playing for ten years. If this was stolen, lost, hijacked, etc., I would be disappointed. I would love to find another one of these amps- I am a collector and player! I have an extensive collection of guitars and amps, and favor Fender/ Gibsons mostly. I would like to find the original footswitch to this amp.
