This model from Akselrud Amplification is a replication of the famous 1967 Marshall Super Lead that is heard on so many recordings. It uses top notch components at every turn, handwired, 100 watts, 3 12ax7 and 4 EL34's Tubes. It was customized at my request by adding a PPIMV Master Volume and and additional 16 ohm impedance jack. It's based on an old Plexi so no fancy channel switching or extra knobs, just like the old days. I bought just the chassis as that is what was being sold.

A great design that delivers tone in spades. I can invoke super clean spank to sweet smooth overdrive my controlling the volume on the guitar. The amp is super touch sensitive and conjures up a multitude of airy tube harmonics that just sounds right. I was switching from a reissue Marshall JTM45 and there just is no comparison. The super lead clone has that "mojo" that players are striving for their whole lives.

It's been a few weeks and everything is working beautifully with no hiccups. A great feature is the easy bias system that allows biasing without pulling the chassis out of the case. I don't see that in anyone else's amps and I always wondered why they didn't do that to make it easier and safer.

Boleslav, at Akselrud Amplification, is a great guy and always answers my emails within a day. He was very accomodating by installing a PPIMV mod and adding the 16 Ohm impedance jack. I was very happy with the support.

A great classic amp at a non-boutique price that is handwired and contains some of the best components currently available (Sozo Caps!). I have been very satisfied after purchasing this amp and feel that anything else will only be a step down.
