I use the amp with single coil Fenders and Peavey Reactors. The best sound is with a Peavey Reactor with Bill Lawrence pickups. It is absolutely the best sounding amp I have for blues and rockabilly tone. I also play a little country chicken pickin' , and it sounds great for that. Mild distortion, but seems very responsive to volume control and pick intensity. It has a very lively sound, but distorts nicely at higher volumes. Only criticism is just a bit thin in the bass.

Reliability : 8
Never broken down for me, but like all old amps, have a good amp tech look it over.

Alamo is long out of business, so no comment here.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for 30 years, and have owned lots of old fenders and sears silvertones. I would rate this amp equal to my old blackface fenders and Silvertone twin 12 as far as tone goes. It is different, a bit more "lively", a sort of presence that those didn't have. My old Traynor and Tremolux had a bit more complexity to their tone, but this amp is much more vibrant and lively. I would like to get another one, maybe experiment with speakers to get a bit more bass. I should add that this one has an Amperex Bugle Boy 12ax7 tube, which I think adds a lot to the sound.

Front panel says "Electra 2570" on right side / one 12x7a and two 6v6 tubes / may have a solid state pre-amp; you can see one very small circuit board from the back / 2 10" speakers / 2 channels w/volume and tone for each / tremolo on one channel with "speed" and "intensity" controls. Tremolo can be switched on and of via foot switch / The "6" rating means this amp is limited, but I wasn't looking for a lot of whistles.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this with a G&L F-100 (2 humbuckers that can be split w/trem bar) .... I play all kinds of stuff but not into edge of the world distortion ... more into melodies than angst/rage ..... amp gives good tone, and has a nice gritty edge when you turn it up .... wish it had reverb, but I can buy a pedal .... If anyone out there knows the wattage on this model, let me know - I'm guessing 15 to 30 watts .... love the tremolo .... If I really fall in love with it, I may have a effects loop installed ... no other changes planned besides new tubes

Reliability : 7
I really have not owned the amp long enough to make a judgement. It was purchased in good (but dusty) condition. I think two of the tubes are original!

I think they're out of business - anyone know of a source for schematics for this?

Overall Rating : 8
I give it an "8" so far .... I need to play out with it. As far as tone and size it's what I was looking for.
