Features : 5
All tube, 6 watts (1 6V6), volume, tone, tremolo, and 3 inputs. Nothing fancy here folks- just plug in and crank it up.

Sound Quality : 9
So far I've plugged my Strat, Tele, LP, and LP jr. into this with excellent results. Decent clean sounds can be had, but it excels when cranked. Imagine a really great sounding Marshall. And it won't piss off your neighbors.

Reliability : 9
The amp was made in '62. I replaced the speaker with a Weber C8S, but beyond that it's all original. So far, so good!

Alamo is no more.

I've been playing semi-professionally for 16 years. This is a great amp- especially useful for recording. Sweet!

Very basic controls - Volume, Power Off/Tone (same pot), Tremelo Off/Speed. Three inputs. No lights/power indicater (unless you look at the tubes :-) For a basic baby amp, its fine. Wish it had more gain/overdrive control.

Sound Quality : 9
Love that tube sound! I've used a single coiled Strat and a hum-bucking Hamer on it. Both jam royally. There is a notable absence of hum with the single coil. It has an excellent tube distortion - full bodied/warm. The only downside is there is no "clean" sound on it - only a little less distortion at lower volumes. The ZZ Top sound comparison on these is appropriate.

It's not very loud - probably low wattage (5-10 watts?). But I think it will be excellent for recording.

Because of the excellent distorted tube sound that I've been searching for over the last 6 months, I rate this as a 9.

Don't know. It looks very old. Torn cover, something gross spilled on one side - so it's made it this far :-)

Between the tobaco stained smoke-bluish cover, gross stuff on the side and rips, it makes a fine addition to our living room.

From what I understand, they're not in business anymore. That's a shame.

I been playing about 30 years. In a band in highschool. Farted around not doing much of anything for 15 years after that. Renewed my interest in playing a couple of years ago - started home recording and spending way to much time and money on that.

If this amp got stolen, I would want to replace it.

It's a great deal for a tube amp - got mine on EBay. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting a nice tube amp for home use/recording. But you'll still need something for a clean sound.

Not much for features. Just plug in and go. All tube 1x6 combo.

Sound Quality : 9
I use a tele style guitar and love this little thing. It really is full sounding for such a little speaker. It's a baby rockabilly machine. My Fender reverb unit makes this sound really gorgeous at lower volumes.

Reliability : No Opinion
This thing is totally stock from what I can tell and it still works great.

Alamo I imagine is out of business.

This amp is pure fun. Really loud and excellent low frequency response for the speaker size. Buy one if you can find one.

made in the sixtys .this little guy has few features going for it.three in puts ,volume on/off switch, tone control, tremol speed off on swich.tubes are 12au6,50l6,12av6,35z5.about 2to 3watts.6"speaker.and that's about it .i play blues ,and that is what this amp does best ,not as loud as a black face chap, not as much distortion either.but to practice with this one works out fine.i wish it had a bigger speaker in it,tone controles aren't all that get either. but with the right caps and resisters, and tubes. it will make a nice bluse tone.(orenge drop caps wok best with this set-up)

Sound Quality : 7
with a start type guitar this amp has the sound of a bigger amp.you hear what you'r giutar sounds like ,not what you amp makes it sound like.it doesn't like peddles much . but neither do i,so that's no big deal.with les paul it has alittle nastier bit to it,but still manages to sound clear. zz top's old stuff.tone control's are a bit picky at the way you set it.as with most little amps with one eq pot.over all if you play jazz or blues or even country, and don't want to pay big hugh dollars for a amp to practice with. and can't stand solid state sound. well i'd say jump on one of these. if you play punk or alturnitive, don't waste your money ,you mite not like it.this thing is dead mint ,i have worked on it,and it is set up for the way i play, you sould draw your on conclusion.

Reliability : 9
it is very dependable, had it 2 years no trobles.

been try'n to play for about 30 years.have had all kinds of amp ,marshall, fender ,crate, silvertone, all kinds.i am going to install a c8rs 8" weber speaker in this bad boy this coming week.i'll let you know what that does for it.this is not a teed champ, not a gibson 5-a ,but it is a good place to start if you don't want to fork out a lot of money for alot of fun.
