Another great bargin bin find!Inspired by Brians ( of "The Bottle Rockets" )review of a like model. He is right on!The tube alamos are cool! This one is about 30 watts and powered by two 6v6's with a solid state pre-amp...one 12ax7 for rev. and trem. Controls are...Treb,bass,rev,speed,depth and treb boost pull.Basic's and easy!

Sound Quality : 10
Great sound...cranked on 10. Grinds like a Marshall...At a perfect Vol. classic rock sounds like old ZZ Top, black Crows...etc. Used a Washburn Eagle and a 74 strat...both sounded killer.Do not have a foot switch yet to test rev and trem. The amp is best suited for rock ass grind...especially with the washburn (les paul like). Not much headroom for clean...this thing begs to be cranked...classic rock all the way...amp is way cool sounding!

Reliability : 9
Looks well made and is dead quiet...is been used a bit and seems to be holding up well.

Best I can tell, this amp was made in the early 60's. It has grey tolex and was originally a piggiback to a 2x12 cabinet that had long since deteriorated. Two channels, vibrato(tube)and normal. 4 inputs that work just like an old Bassman or 4 input Plexi. Speaker and extention speaker jacks. on/off, standby, ground switch. Volume and tone for each channel and speed, depth and footswitch jack for the vibrato. The interesting thing is the tube compliment. (3) 12ax7 vibrato and preamp, (1) 7199 driver, (2) 7591 output tubes, (1) GZ34 rectifier.

Sound Quality : 10
The magic of this amp is the output section. The amp is true Class A, and the 7591's are awesome sounding tubes. I left the normal channel alone. It sounds best run wide open, a kind of dark Marshally-Voxish sound that works best for rock open chords and meaty leads. The vibrato channel I tweaked into a more open sound with a full high mid low tone circuit and it works beautifully with the stock output section.

Reliability : 10
I found this amp in a backyard with bird poop on it. Who knows how long it had been there. Even had a wasps nest inside the chassis. Still had the original Tung-Sol tubes and all it needed was a replaced filter cap and a fuse. I have gigged with it since and used it on countless studio sessions with rave results for the past 5 years with no problems.

Overall, this amp was the find of the century. I use a 12AU7 for the preamp and that allows me to get anywhere from country clean to marshall/voxey if I crank it on the modded side. I would guess it puts out about 40 watts which is plenty loud for Class A. It's a great amp to tweak out considering the output section. You can get a Vox ac30 type sound, a Marshall, and a Fender sound for a couple hundred if you can find one and have a good amp tech. It's my secret weapon and works great with tele's, stra's , and paul's. Very fat sounding and great natural compression.
