based on the other descriptions here, i'm pretty sure that this is the same as the amp that was my very first, way back 1970, when i was in the 7th grade in cortez, colorado...i bought it along with a kingston solid body/my 1st electric/at a pawn shop near our house for $40....it was gray, with a 10" speaker, and tubes...nice and crunchy loud...one vol/1 tone...all she wrote

No model name to identify this one, but from the pots its a '65 vintage model with 12AX7 (now a 5751) 6V6 and 5Y3 into an 8" speaaker set up. Vol/tone, on'ff and that's it! This one was a basket case when I bought it (eBay), it needed a new speaker (8" Jensen Alnico re-issue - great!!!), new caps (Sprague Oranmge Drops) and a new power cord. 3 inputs, each one different, the 3rd input drips gain and is pure SRV right off the bat, with a Tube Screamer it's unbelievable.

Sound Quality : 9
When I got it the speaker was dried out, it still sounded decent but this pup obviously needed some tlc. The work that's been donenahs made this into a great little practice, coffee shop and maybe even studio amp. I also fitted an external output jack and this thing rocks through a 4x10 cab. It has huge midrange bite and really sings when it's opened all the way up especially when it's front-ended by a Tube Screamer.

Reliability : 8
There's justr not that muchn to go wrong! Now that it's restored, I expect this to be bulletproof for years to come.

Alamo is long gone but a fish withn a soldering iron could keep this pup running.

Alamo amps are hugely under-rated. Granted they can be hit-or-miss, but a good one is very good. They are so cheap relative to Fenders, Gibsons, Supros, etc. that it's worth taking a risk on one. If my house were on fire, it'd be a toss up between taking this amp or my 1957 Supro Comet 1610. Great little amp!!!

Features none: On/off, volume, tone. single 10" speaker in a large, tall box. 3 jack's ??? No model, no serial number. Uses 3 tubes (12ax7, 6v6, 5y3gt). The circuit is SIMPLE. The box is large enough to easily swap any speaker, get at the electrics, lots of room to "play".

Sound Quality : No Opinion
Plays warmer and quiter then my Vibro Champ (same tubes, no chime)- at real low volumes - lots of hum and hiss when cranked up. Thats probably a sign that it needs some work - but I bought it for its low volume warmth, as a bed room amp. I want to put in another speaker to darken it even more.

Reliability : No Opinion
RElaibilty Unknown - but the speaker date is 65, and it still works. It's so simple any tech can fix it. The box though is crap. stapled beaverboard. My guess is that this is Alamos "cheaper then a Champ" entry model. They "spared no expense to save a penny"!

Remember the Alamo!

Overall Rating : 10
These things are cheap! (sell Cheap - made cheap) but sound expensive. If I had a place to do wood work, I would make a beautiful cabinet and fool everybody. A true swap meet, guarage sale special worth grabbing if you find one. (I over paid - living in the city - but nothing else comes close at $140 except a champ and I already have one._
