Probably made in 2004, I bought it new in 2005 from MF after the Wildfire came out. This amp has much better and more usable effects than most other amps in this size and price range. As a previous reviewer pointed out, you can use three effects at the same time, plus compression/limiter, Noise reduction, EQ, speaker model, distortion/overdrive, Digital effects, AND you can chain the effects in almost any order you want. Only one channel, and the presets, factory and custom are only accessable in sequence A0->H9, up or down. Like others, I would have preferred tone knobs in the eq section as opposed to a single numeric EQ setting. The ability to chain another amp to this one and hear the effects in stereo is very cool and unusual for this class of amps. Line inputs for CD player or other audio device, External speaker output, expression pedal input to control effects. built-in tuner. I was going to rate this amp 9 because I'm old fashioned and I like bass and treble knobs, but I'm really knocked out by the amount of features so I have to give it a 10.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using a Gibson SG-100 with one single coil, and an Ibanez AXF-74 hollowbody with two humbuckers. The amp comes loaded with around 80 factory preset effect combinations, so in order to judge the sound of the amp itself, you have to take one of the presets and disable all of the effects. With no effects, the amp is clean and loud, but the tone lacks richness. Adjusting the eq can help, but I was unable to get any kind of brilliant treble out of the amp with either guitar. Fortunately, I don't use a trebly sound that often, but if you want to play surf or 60's Brit Invasion, you might want to use an eq pedal. Like all of the multi-effects units I've tried, most of the presets are useless. However, imagine that you've got a guitar, an amp, and a pile of pedals in front of you and you're trying to get a certain sound, and that's what it's like building a chain of effects with this amp. It's pretty amazing what you can get out of it if you take the time. You will need the manual to guide you through the effects at least in the beginning.

I haven't had this long enough to experience problems with it. I have owned an Alesis microverb for about 15 years without any problems though.

Never dealt with them.

been playing so long I can't remember. I had an older Acoustic 30 watt 10" unit that I replaced with this unit, and there's no comparison - this amp is much better. I even used it last weekend as a bass amp on a low volume acoustic gig. The effects are much more versatile than those on a Roland Cube, although overall I think the cube sounds better (but it should at twice the price). The ability to use the effects in stereo was what prompted me to buy this amp. My rack setup has always used stereo effects, so this was very appealing to me. It takes some time to get the sound just right, but it's worth it. Like the microverb, the reverb in this amp is great.

30 watt combo amp with a 10" speaker and lots of features. It has aux in and footswitch inputs and speaker out, a tuner, and the full equivalent of Alesis' Guitar FX processor for effects. On most modeling amps, you can use one or maybe two effects simultanerously. With the Spitfire you can use three effects, plus compression, EQ, noise reduction, and distortuin at tge sane time. The 39 has a front panel drive control, which the 15 doesn't, but lacks the bass and treble controls that the 60 has (you can still do EQ,but there is no knob).

Sound Quality : 9
Sound the same as most solid state amps. It won't give you the smooth distortion of a good tube amp, but there are many distortions available (even an acoustic simulator). These range from clean to metal disrortion. There is some noise on the higher gain settings, but the noise reduction copes with this well. The effects are mostly very good, with the exception of the flanger, which I don't like at all. There are some unusual ones, cry, ring modulator, sample and hold, for expmple. About an 8 for the basic sound, and a 9 or 10 for effects.

Reliability : 9
I've only had it about a month, but no problems. Most solid state equipment is pretty reliable.

Good information on the web site, including the ability to download the manual and reister the product online.

Been playing about 5 years, lots of different guitars. I bought this as a backuo, and as a way of experimenting with odd comnbinations of effects and with stereo effects (there is a stereo link output to link to a second amp. It works fine for those purposes, but I think it would really excel as someone's first guitar amp. A beginner could buy this and not need to buy any effects, or even a tuner.

I bought this amp a little over 2 months ago. The amp is very versatile in the sounds and effects department. The amp has one channel. It has an output to be hooked into another amp which then will be played stereo. Another output is for an 8 ohm speaker. This amp has a headphone jack. There is an imput for stereo from a CD player or other sound source (you can play along with your CD - I plug the sound output from my laptop computer into the amp and play along with backgrounds I made.

I bought this amp to take to jams. It is much easier to carry this light small amp than my Peavy Classic.

The amp even has a built in digital tuner.

The only thing missing is bass, treble, or mid knobs although you can get the range you want by setting them for each digital setting.

You can download a .pdf manual at www.alesis.com for this amp.

Sound Quality : 10
The guitars I use are: Fender Coronado II (DiMarsio Super II pickups), G & L ASAT, and Guild acoustic/electric.

I play many styles of music including rock, rock & roll, R & B, blues, country, bluegrass, standards, gospel, and oldies.

You can turn the clean channel volume all the way up with no distortion.

Some of the factory settings for the overdrive channels were noisy with the big single coil pickups on the ASAT. This happened when I practiced at home with the amp very close to me. You can get rid of the noise by editing the settings and saving them.

The amp makes many of the sounds you hear today and sounds of yesterday. It has inputs for pedals to go up/down in the settings. I plugged a synth volume pedal in and was able to control, vibrato, flanger, wha wha, etc. effects. That is really nice. The amp also has an imput for an Alesis Pedal Board that should contol everything.

The effect sounds are fantastic. You have reverb, delay, flanger, wha wha, chorus, different distortions. I found many great sounds right out of the box. Everytime I play with this amp I find something else I like about it. This is one great practice amp or amp for a small stage.

Everytime I take the amp to a jam session everone wants to try it out.

As I stated before, this amp rocks for many different types of music.

I have been playing guitar, bass, and keyboards for over 30 years in many bands and varieties of music. Beside the guitars mentioned above I own a Digitec RP7 effects unit, Peavey KB300 (keyboard amp), G&L bass with Gibson head Trynor bottom, Kurzweil 2600x, Korg M1, Casio CZ1, and Yamaha QY700.

I bought this amp new so I didn't have to carry a bigger amp to a jam session I have with many muscians every Sunday night. This amp has loads of features for $145. I really like this little amp's sounds and easy adjustments. I don't have to carry any effects pedals - they're all built in.

I checked out many small amps and could not find one with 30 watts and all the features this amp has at the price I paid. After trying out many small amps for several months I bought this one and I am happy I did.

I wish it did have knobs for treble, mid, and bass as I had to save different settings for my different guitars.

a very versatile amp with 80 pre set patches which are very easy to edit.there are no bass, treble and mid controls which is strange at first but they are in there in the eq section.it also allows you to hook up to another amp and plug in an expression pedal

.i use a fender tele custom with mxr dist, super chorus, and delay.i own various amps and was looking for somthing different for my 9 yr old son.this amp has fantastic clean sounds and when you hook it upto another amp it sounds brilliant.the dists are also very good.it is a very quite amp with hardly any hum even when turned up to the max mainly due to the noise reduction.there is a huge variety of sounds in this amp and editing is really easy once you have read the mannual.i play blues and old style metal and with a bit of tweaking this amp really delivers the sounds i want and thre is no need for fx pedals as there are all there in the amp

i have been playing for 25 yrs and this is my first venture in to modern gear and i have to say a very pleasing one.the clean sounds are on apar with my fender amp at a fraction of the cost.the only thing i would like to see on this amp are some tone controls they are in therebut perhaps thats just my age and getting used to modern gear.for the price this is a fantastic amp and when you hook it up to another amp it is very pleasing to hear your self in stereo.i would replace this amp if it was stolen or lost.if you are on a budget and looking for a good practice amp with built in effects this amp is ideal. i have seen this amp priced at 88 quid at a company called sound and light try google and search alesis.to the chaps who run this site i would like to add a big thank you and to everyone who has submitted a review cheers.i have used this site many times before to check out gear before buying.happy playing
