OK, I just received my Alessandro BlueTick one week ago. Time to post my first impressions. For those who don't know the amp, please first read the review in the Guitar Player (also published om the Alessandro site). This is a one channel amp of 20 Watt, with minimal features: only volume, bass, mid, treble power and standby. Also you can select the right impendance on the back. So no reverb, no headphone, no effetc loop, no foot switch, etcetera.
This is not a problem, this is actually what the amp is about: control the sound with your guitar and fingers and the distortion level with the volume control of your guitar. And Imust say, this works very well. I used to have multi channel amps (Mesa Boogie Mark IV, Line 6 Vetta head II) and it now turns out that one channel can do it all!
To be honest, there is one feature I miss. I'd rather have a drive and volume control (drive to control the level of distortion, volume to control the overall master volume). Now in order to get a thick distortion with my guitar volume on 10, I have to set the volume of the amp to 7 or 8. By than the volume is very loud! I now solve this by using a Marchall Powerbreak between amp and speakers, but that will of course not improve tone.

Sound Quality : 10
I play all kinds of music in a cover band and own various guitars. In summary, I'm unable to get any bad sound out of the amp! However, the amp is that good, that you will for the first time hear what your guitar and pickups really sound like. So you will really be rewarded using a good guitar with this amp. I have used for instance several PRS models with the amp (Custom 24, Singlecut, Custom Soapbar) and have never heard the various pichup switching possibilities of these guitars expressed better as with this amp.
The amp is not at all noisy, even with a P-90 equipped guitar (unlike mu Mesa Boogie Mark IV). And the sounds are fabulous - from shining, fender like, clean and twang to heavy distorted, but unlike any distortion I have heard befoe, as you can hear any string individually through the distorted chords (hard to explain). I'm still amazed that by turning my guitar volume from 5 to 7 I go from crystal clear to Stones like crunch and turning it up higher go to heavy, but at the same time clear, distortion.
To summarize, I have never heard an amp sound that good (and without any tweaking required).

Reliability : No Opinion
I can't predict, just got it one week. It is a handmade wooden box, so if you want to take it for regular gigs, you'd better build a good flight case with it.

Customer Support : 9
I have called once and mailed another 5 times. Always got friendly and correct response. All my 5 mails were answered within 2 hours! So far I'm impressed.

Overall Rating : 10
Now I have been playing for 20 years and used several amps. I did build up my dream gear ny building a 19 inch rach with: Mesa Boogie Triaxis, Mesa Boogie 50/50, TC Electronics G-Force, Dunlop Rack Wah and Rocktron All Access to find out that in the end my Mesa Boogie Mark IV combo sounded better. Now the BlueTick has shown that even a better sound than that is possible.
I bought it based on the Guitar Player review (which was a risk) and was rewarded: this is the best sounding amp I have ever seen/heard. Sure I would buy it again if stolen, it is great value for money.

Note: If you live in the Netherlands, please feel free to contact me about the amp.
