I was using a tele and an Ibanez 335 copy. It did not suit my style very well, which is R&B, blues and jazz. It had louder than average hum, and did not play clean enough to suit my taste. Also, it produced what seemed to be a strange subharmonic note on higher gain settings through my Marshall 2 x12 cabinet. I think this amp is good at making a good Marshall sound for lead and high gain, but I needed a more flexable amp. I really didn't like the overall tone of the amp. I used it on two gigs and really couldn't get a sound I was happy with. I have been playing a number of years (39) and I have used many different amps so I have some basis for an opinion.

I have been playing 39 years, I own a few other amps, such as a Victoria low power twin (my favorite) a 65 super reverb, a silverface twin, a Mesa Mark 2B. I have also owned other boutiques such as Dr.Z Route 66, and Matchless clubman 35. In my opinion, the sound was not right for me, and did not compare favorably to the other amps I have owned.
