Twenty watt, single channel, hand wired, tube combo, with a twelve inch Jensen speaker, and short tank reverb.

Sound Quality : 10
It's only twenty watts, but plenty loud enough for club gigs, and for a small combo produces an amazing amount of bass, even with my Tele's bridge pickup you can really feel the lower strings through the stage. Truly excellent clean, and overdriven tones; it sounds great with all my guitars, Strats and Teles. The reverb isn't that dramatic, but very useable.
I've used it for blues, Jazz, rock, and R n'B, for which it all worked wonderfully; I don't it would suit metal though.

Reliability : 9
In two years Iv'e had no problems; it seems very well built.

Customer Support : 10
Alessandro are very hepful on line.

Overall Rating : 10
As advertised this is a no frills, lightweight, handbuilt amp that produces boutique, quality tones; I love that I can plug my old Tele straight into it and get a very varied palette of superb tones just by using different pickup, volume, and playing techniques, combinations.
I would have liked an effects loop, but I suppose that would increase the price.

Has all the controls on the top, Volume, and tone T/M/B, Reverb Final Output/Master Volume, Jangly/Creamy, On/Off and Standby, one channel, 20 watts, this is the 1-12 model. Hand built made in the USA, P/P wired, seems well built and not to heavy. What else do you really need? Except good tone and this amp can do it.

To be honest I don't like the way the controls are boxed in on top.

Sound Quality : 7
Good clean responce, as good as it gets. Overdrive was smooth but not over saturated. I like the switch on Creamy best. This amp is not intended for people who just crank up and shread, sure with some tweaking and the right pedal it will deliver a Metal message to your ears. Sorry if you want that kind of sound look else where. I compaired it to several other amps in the music store all used except the Crate V16 and a Peavey Valve King, including a Carvin Nomad, a Peavey Classic 30, and a Marshall Valvestate. IMO this amp did hold it's own in Tone and Volume to everything in the store, but the Classic 30 was a very close second and went the extra distance in my mind. I can't say for sure why, but I bought the Working Dog. Cost me a little more than the others but money is not an object when it comes to my music. The Store owner told me it was his personal amp but he is selling it to buy a Fender Vibro King from one of his friends.

Reliability : 9
Hand built, so it should be good.

I don't know.

Most the time I play a RI'62 Fender Strat and a Fender Twin Reverb. I wanted something smaller that I can just grab and go. I only had this amp for a week, and I tried it out at a Blues Jam session it did well playing with a Fender Hotrod Deluxe a Marshall 1/2 stack and a few Peavey's. I had some trouble adjusting my tone because I couldn't hear my self very well, these guys kept turning up and playing louder, by the end of the night they must have blown out everyone's ear drums, I left early. I don't like playing that loud. Good tone and volume come in at about 3 on this amp and I had to turn it up to about 6 just to hear my self!!! I don't do the loud thing very often but it did hold up to the jam session. It's a good, well built amp, should last for years but the sad thing is I'm trading it off for the Classic 30, which I like better, somebody else can enjoy this little gem. The reasons for the change, FX loop, I liked the Reverb better and the channel switching is a plus, and I can get it for half the price and use the $300 left over for something else.

I have owned a Fender Blues JR, as well as a Blackface Twin and a 50 W original Marshall Plexi.

How anyone can say the Alessandro is even remotely comparable to a Fender Blues JR. boggles my mind. The Blues Junior is an OK amp I liked mine then did about $400 in mods to get it to sound more like a Princeton Blackface, it finally sounded very good BUT there is no comparison to my Alessandro Rotweiller. I'm sure the Boxer sounds similar.

The Alessandro is hands down the best amp I ever played, it sounds better than original Tweed amps I compared it to in Guitar Center even the sales guys there admitted that. It has more depth and warmth than a Tweed and more string definition than a Blackface all at the same time, break up is sweet Marshall JTM45/Vox JIMI type of distortion, it take the classic vintage sound to a new higher level.

I suppose taste is taste, I spent too much money making my Fender BJ finally sound good, but the Alessandro sounds so much better the two are in entirely different universes. The Alessandro is in the universe with Trainwrecks and Matchless, the BJ most certainly is not.

Your standard Volume and Treble, Bass and Middle with a Final Output Control (Master Volume). Reverb and a Jangly/Creamy Switch. Stand-by Switch (good idea for saving tubes and warm up) and of course a On and Off Switch. 2-6V6's 1-12AT7 and 2-12AX7's. This was the 1-12 model. Top mounted knobs in an opening in the top, ***Don't put your drink on the amp if it spilled in the opening it would be a nice little lake, bad desigh idea. Point to point wired, NICE!

Sound Quality : 9
I compared it with my '99 Fender Blues Jr. using a '56 Epi Goldtop, I don't think there is as much difference in tone as my friend thinks, but it's his new amp not mine. Volume about the same, a little less break up than the BJ but El 84's break up faster than 6V6's. I think thats about it. Clean it was nice and crisp but the OD was about the same as the the BJ but not as warm, IMO. Since I like the Tone of both I'll rate it high but for the price I think the BJ is a better sounding amp.

Reliability : 8
I can't say, depends on the quality of the parts, workmanship and the owner's care. I think it will hold up well, keep good tubes in it and should last a lifetime. Even the best amps have problems. The fact that it's P-to-P wired is in its favor, so i'll give it a "8".

I think as long as they stay in business your okay.

Overall Rating : 7
I liked it and the quality is way better than the Blues Jr, and that's a fact. Call me a cheap skate if you like, I just don't think it's worth the money but my friend is now talking about buying the 40 Watt as his main amp, I know he's happy with them. I can't say It's a bad amp, just not the one for me. I grew up on Fender amps and have used them since the mid '60's my first being a Super Reverb my current two a '70s SF Twin with P/P Master is my main gig amp and my BJ my practice amp. I hope he buys the 40 Watt then I can compare it with my next new amp which I haven't setteled on yet, something around the $500-600 price range and 30-50 watts. If this amp were in the price range I'm looking at, I would put it on my list.

2002 Handmade PTP wired 20 watt Class A combo amp 2x6v6 power tubes with a 30 watt 12" Celestion Greenback. I believe the speaker is from 1969 or 1970. Very versatile amp with the jangly/creamy switch and EQ settings which include bass, treble and middle. Also there is a final output control which allows you to set the amp between 10 and 20 watts.

Sound Quality : 10
This amp is very versatile and sounds Great! You can go from the classic fender sound all the way to British type tube distortion. The overdrive breaks up nicely with smooth sustain and you don't loose the individual sound of each note. You can set just the right amount of gain needed utilizing the final output dial and EQ settings. The middle works well for added gain and punch. I play mainly strats and a 1962 Gibson SG Special. The creamy setting works best with the humbuckers on my SG where as the jangly setting works best with my strats single coil pickups.

Reliability : 10
The amp is built well however its always good to have a backup because any amp can breakdown.

George is a great guy who is always willing to help and listen for the kind of sound your trying to achieve. He recently checked over one of the modified blackface bassmans I bought from him years ago. Also he serviced my 61 deluxe. He finished the job quicker then expected and went out of his way to find an old 1960's jensen speaker and 1960's tubes to make the deluxe right. It sounds Great!

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for over 30 years and use to play out 3 to 4 nights a week during the 70's and 80's.I would be lost without this amp and would replace it if it were lost or stolen. Best Tone Ever!
