This is a '76 Fender Deluxe Reverb that David modified to blackface specs. You know the setup: two channels, 4 inputs, 22 watts and a 12. I have used this on 2 clubs dates, and it has been excellent in all respects: plenty of power for a mid-sized club, great tone, and quiet. Not much to speak about as far as "features," but I would take this over a digital amp anyday.

I use either a '72 reissue Tele Deluxe, a 1950 Rickenbacker style B lap steel, or a Standard Tele with a Duncan Broadcaster in the bridge into a EH Double Muff, a Mosfet booster, and a EH Memory Man (all pedals true bypass). My style is tough to describe, but I gravitate toward the tones and style of Neil Young, Clarence White, Sonic Youth, Wilco, Loose Fur, and Marc Ribot. Not that this helps, but I like a nice open, unaffected tone that does not lose its definition through effects. Thus far, I have found very few unusable tones, though my setup does come as a little bright with the EQ dimed. This is a versatile amp in that it just sounds good, and I would feel comfortable with this in a number of settings, except for metal. Or krunk.

No problem thus far, but it's a week old to me. I looked at the chassis, and it is very neat and the amp itself is built like a tank.

David is very approachable, and he has been a pleasure to work with.

If this were stolen, I would be sad, and would try to find another Silverface that David could work on. I have played through a number of blackface Fenders, and I believe that my Deluze can standup to any of them. Of course, some purists may disagree, but some purists also have $2500 to buy a blackface Deluxe. This was less than half that, more reliable, and less of a liability on the road.
