This amp was made in 1964

I use this amp mainly for clean sounds, it's good for blues, rockabilly, country or any type of contemporary musics. It has a piercing clean sound like Albert Collin style.

It has two channels: One for guitar, the other accordian. It has a Reverb, tremolo, tone knobs, all of them work perfectly.

I wished it had a delay or phaser effects. I don't use tremolo much.

This amp has a loud piercing clean sound, it's loud enough for self practice sessions. I don't know about using it on stage or in a band like situations.

It takes these obscure tubes, which I'm too lazy to dig into. Sorry.

Sound Quality : 9
This guitar sounds good with any kind of pickups, especially with a Amercian strat single coils, It's like playing with glass bells.

It's good for clean solos, Buddy Holly type of musics or Hendrix clean riffs.

It's noisy if you play your guitar in front of a TV or a computer monitor, but if you're holding the neck the hum noise goes away.

The cleans sound is very good, it's better than the current reissue tube Fenders. The Reverb is Excellent! Tremolo has a mellow vintage 1960 Del-Shannon wonderer sound.

I think it could distort much, but it's loud enough to punched a hole in the ear drum.

Reliability : No Opinion
I only use it at home, since it's thirty-eight yrs old amp. I wouldn't use it in a live audience situation, unless it's a more mellow types or clean country rock crowds.

I've bought it from E-Bay(be-careful, you might get ripped off) from a I quess a vintage amp collector E-Bay group company called warpdrive/musicial.com. No warranty, it's very clean, bought it in a great working condition. It's not worth it, if you need to pay repair service for a used amp. Unless you like to deal with that sort of thing.

I've been playing for about 15 years, though it's mostly goofing off.
I've had classical guitar training. I've owned three Fenders; vintage Bassman,Delux Reverb, the tube champs, Sovetek amps, two Peaveys, in other words, too many not enough.

No, I'll just stopped playing and become a brain surgeon.

It's all love baby, no hate. Just myself. Kidding

Compared to Fenders, I quess.... I've heard about how great Ampeg sounds, though I think I paid too much for this one. I really wanted a Supro amp. Which I heard it's Jimmy Page's favorite.

I wished it had more speakers.

If you want a vintage amp, get a Ampeg, Gibson, Supro, Danelectro. As long as it's under $300

Didn't know exactly where/how to list this. Anyway, I bought this little gem from I guy I used to work with, back in 1995. He told me an older friend of his was about to sell it with an old Hagstrom guitar at a garage sale. It didn't work, so he asked me if I could take it home and check it out for him. When I got it home, I found that it only needed a new light bulb for the on/off switch, and the control pots were a tad scratchy. When I took it apart to put in a new bulb and spray the pots with some cleaner, and I noticed a schematic pasted to the interior of the cabinet. Upon reading it, I noticed that the date on it said (if I remember correctly) 1964, or 1966 (it was late 60's though). I got a little excited about that because I was born in '64, so I remember thinking it was about as old as me. After some careful repairs, I played with this little 15Watt amp, and found it to be an extremely nice little unit for maybe Jazz or something. After I cleaned it with some Armor All, and cleaned the chrome, it looked and performed about a 9 out of 10- almost new! My problem, and this is ironic, is that I was not into Jazz at all back then, but very much am now. I asked the guy at work the next day to ask the owner how much he wanted for it. The next day again, he said that the guy wanted to get at least $10.00 for it (can you believe that???). I said, "here, give the guy this $10., and tell him I'll give him another $10. for his guitar- I don't even need to see it". The guy took it, and the next day (fourth day by now), I had a cool old amp, and an old guitar for $20.). I played with this amp for a month or two, then traded both the amp and guitar for a Marshall JCM 800, because I was low on cash and was very much more into metal than the sounds this stuff put out. (Yes, if you just called me an asshole, I couldn't disagree with you more). Anyway, I can't remember too well, but I THINK it had two inputs, one channel, tremolo or reverb(?) and had a generally nice warm sound. Two EL84's and I don't remember the preamp tubes. Versatility?... ok, 5?

I smacked a Les Paul Standard through this poor little bastard, and hated the sound. I was very clean, and did not distort until cranked all the way up, and even then it was probably more speaker distortion. It was just VERY clean. I just remember thinking it would be great for Jazz. Not at all a Fender-y king of sound though. It was a great sounding amp, and loud for 15 watts.

Reliability : 10
It was built back in the days when they built everything really good, and built it in this country. Too bad they don't make jack shit like that anymore. Built like a shit brickhouse.

Dih... yeah, I wish I kept it, 'cause now I play Jazz on a hollowbody, and it would have been a nice travel amp. I see them today going for just under $350., and they're never in as good of shape as mine was- they're usually beat to hell. The new reissues are around $400. I think. If the guy who bought this from the guitar store that I sold it to, wanted to sell it back to me for $10.00, yeah- I'd buy it again. Maybe I'll buy a new reissue again soon though. Nice little amp.
