The features are definitely limited in this amp, being that there are only three knobs. Volume, Tone, and Tremolo... YES! Tremolo - the god of the late fifties and early sixties! This amp has built-in analog tremolo that outperforms any pedal tremolo I have ever used. All I can say is wow...

I've been using a Peavey Nitro II, modded with a Gibson 500T in the bridge, but I only used the stock neck pickup with this amp. This amp is a great sounding little bastard, but after the volume goes past three, it starts to distort. It's very cool to use it at about 7, and turn down the volume on the guitar for a clean sound, then bring it up for a great power-driven sound. I would use this for recording any day!!!

Unfortunately, this thing just started crapping out. Just the tubes though, and they're old, so it's not that big of a deal. The cabinet is very rugged, able to take abuse, but the tubes are very exposed, can be quite a hazard. Won't rate this one, because this amp is THAT old.

Considering I got it at the Guitar Center green tag sale for $220 from 549, I think I got an amazing steal. But after hearing the sound, I think I would have paid full price if I had to.

This Amgeg is VERRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYY OLD!!! I'm guessing It is the Original Jet Model. This is definately from the sixties. does not have many features. It's all TUBE, has 5 Tubes hanging from the open back. Has a 10" Jensen Alnico Speaker. One Channel, A volume knob, tone knob, and a Tremolo knob. This effect is very subtle, probably doesn't work right. Has a cool green jewel power light, I think that's pretty cool. This amp doesn't distort unless you crank it, It's a small amp(size of a Blues Junior) And I'm guessing it is about 15 watts. but man!! it cranks!!! The Ampeg Jet seems to be intended for practice, or a small club gig. Reverb would be nice, but what the fuck!!

Well I'm borrowing this amp, and I run it through my vintage Farfisa Compact Duo organ. It sounds good with a vintage combo organ, and It's features are pretty well suited for it. I can describe the amp as having a high treble rugged sound. Has a rugged clean sound, but nice and warm, cuz it's all tube. I don't put the volume past 2!! cuz It starts to hurt my ears, I havn't heard a guitar with it, but it would probably sound old, dirty and warm. The amp needs work so it can probably sound better. So it gets a seven.

Only had it for a day, and I will probaby have it only for a week, I have no idea what the history is on this thing. If it is still kicking after 30 years, it must be good. cosmetically it looks pretty rancid. The handle is rotten, there are paint specks all over it, and there's cobwebs inside the speaker cab!! Who ever this amp belongs to, doesn't seem to give a shit about it. This amp needs work!!! but you can play though it. It hums like a Bitch. Looks like it has been sitting in a basement somewhere!!!

A pretty tight old tube amp!!! If it was fixed up, re-tubed, and cleaned, this amp could raise a few eye brows. This will be in my possesion for a week, so I'm taking the time to right this review now, while it's still in my hands. My brother borrowed it from his friend to fix it up for him. He gave it to me for a week so I have something to play my farfisa though, until I get my Twin Reverb. The only writing on it is AMPEG JET, So i'm putting it in a seperate category. It's an old Ampeg tube amp from the sixties. Has some potential, If you come across one for a good price, get it for the novelty.
