I don't exactly what year mine is but it's a 50 watt Reverborocket reissue. Clean and distorted channels, channel switching, no effects loop, reverb. Wish it had an effects loop and extension speaker jack. I use this amp pretty often, I bought it for wedding dates because its a real pain hauling a Mesa Boogie Mark 2 head, Boogie cab, and my guitars around the downtown Chicago area (where a lot of my gigs are). This amp is nice and light for a tube amp,and it sounds real good for the 300 bucks I paid for it. I wish it were louder, there really isn't a lot of headroom. I don't know, some 50 watt amps are loud as hell but not this one.

I use Fender type sounds mostly. I'm playing a American Classic Strat and a Parker Nitefly (the Parker has a bridge bucker.) My style is jazz, rock, country, blues, fusion. This amp gets a real good clean tone. Really all I look for is a nice clean tone (especially for 300 bones), you can always add dirt with pedals. This amp gets that nice "direct through the board" clean Strat tones that I dig. It's not great for jazz, doesn't have the depth and roundness of my Mark 2. The EQ really doesn't do a lot. The lead channel is OK, it's a little "dry" or "gritty", it's not super high gain (which I don't need anyway), there's not much dimension to the lead sound but its OK for wedding gigs (where all I want to take is 2 guitars and an amp.) The clean channel breaks up nicely at high settings, but again the headroom is an issue. A 50 watt amp should be loud enough for rehearsals, small clubs and wedding settings but oddly enough sometimes this amp just doesn't cut it. Overall I'm not super happy with it but again , it was a killer buy for 300.
Reliability

I rarely gig without backup, I've had amps blow power tubes right before the gig and had to play direct. Don't ever want to do that again. (Try it, you'll see what I mean.) Unless you're a proficient amp tinkerer bring backup always! This amp has yet to break down on me. The amp feels sturdy and everything.

I've been playing 17 years, pro player, not much gear to speak of. Boogie Mark 2, Hughes & Kettner practice amp, pedalboard with some basic pedals, 2 guitars. Can't afford that much gear. I wouldn't buy another Reverborocket reissue, it's not that I'm super unhappy with it but there's better stuff out there. Compared to other used stuff in the price range (under 500), however, it's certainly worth a look.

2 channel, spring reverb, efx loop, shared 3 band eq, 50 watts of tube tone. Not that heavy, estimate somewhere in the 40 lb range. It is a versatile beast, It need some tweaks to sound truly amazing. Nice blue checkered tolex.

I have a Raven RP350 with a Duncan '59 and Rio Grande BBQ Bucker (great combo, I did my homework well), Schecter Strat with Fralin's, and a Washburn USA Custom Shop WM200. I use a lot of pedals and love the extra dimension it gives to the sound. I play rock and blues. Nothing real heavy, but love to riff around with classic power chord songs. I'm obsessed with TONE. I can't stand a ratty sounding guitar, amp, or effect. I've tried a million different mods searching for my tone.
This amp stock is pretty good. Groove Tubes, great spring reverb (better than Fender, best I've heard), great clean tone, passable lead channel, and OK speakers. Amp forum on google hate this amp, basically said the best mod was to sell it and buy a boutique amp. They are wrong.
I modded this amp with Weber Blue Dogs (ceramic 15w), Groove Tube 12AX7C, a GT 12AT7HP in the V2 and PI, and GT KT66HP (hardness 3, no rebiasing needed)power tubes. Suggested by the Groove Tubes SAG man, Myles Rose.
This is a great amp. It has exceptionally round clean tone with that organic bloom on the clean channel. I've played Fenders, Sunn T50C, Alessandro Working Dog, vintage Gibson, Line 6 stuff, and a Boogie Mk III. I like this tone the best of them all. The amps above are great amps, no ego tripping that my stuff is the best. This amp NEEDS these mods. In stock form, you need to get the volume high to get the tone. These mods start great at low volume and just get better and better.
The lead channel isn't as grainy with the 12AT7, it's is way fatter and singing. The combination of the tubes and the speakers are just it, that magic combination.
sounds great with Strats, humbuckers, probably, a mandolin.
The reverb is usable from 2 to 10. It isn't sproing-y or metallic. It fattens the tone and creates a nice ambient effect.
The amp isn't noisy, a little hiss, not much at all compared to others I've heard.
I like to use pedals for distortion on the clean channel. I have a J Everman Fuzzdrive (great), Keeley Ultra DS1, Maxon SD9, RAT 2, and Rocktron Austin Gold OD. They all sound great.
Stock this is a 7, an 8 if you at high volume, with the mods above it's a 9.5. I'm sure that a Carr Rambler or Siegmund Midnight Blues would slay this amp. But, the tone is very satisfying
Reliability

I've had some reliability problems. 2 times in the past year I have fried resistors. I think the problem is the high gain distortion pedals. I treat the amp pretty nicely, I was as mad as hell the last time it broke down. I'm not sure if this is going to be a reoccuring issue. I'm not using the higher gain pedals that much.
I would gig without a backup, not that I'm gigging anywhere to soon. I have a VAmp modeller that is super easy to run to PA. I really haven't met many guitar players taking 2 amps to club gigs

It's St Louis Music. I've emailed them before and they return the emails promptly. They wanted me to take the amp to an authorized service center 1 1/2 hours from my house. I took it to a local guy, no problem. I bought it used and had no warranty

There is nothing I hate about this amp, maybe the frying resistor thing. These RI Reverberockets can be found for cheap, add 200 worth of mods and you will have TONE. $475 awesome tone, I'm all for that! I can afford a Rivera, Carr, etc, but I don't see the need to buy because the tone can't be that much better.
If it were stolen, I would hunt for a used one and mod it the exact same way again. Those who steal gear have to answer to an higher authority.
I have been obessesed with tone for about 4 years. I started on an acoustic and play out in church every week. The church had a good group of musicians and we started to do shows about 2-3 a month in the Westchester (NY, Orange County (NY), and Ocean Grove on the Jersey shore. I wanted to sound better and better. This amp is,by far, the sweetest, warmest, singingest amp, I've been around. I went to a Ronnie Earl show and heard his vintage Super Reverb and Strat tones and they were mind blowing. (He always plays around Boston area, go see him) I thought he would have sounded better with my amp. That is my endorsement.
I'm 41 and been playing for 11 years. I have bought the hype before and now know that the hyped thing usually doesn't last. There are many great tones available, if you do some research, trust your ears, and return or trade things that don't fit your music. I have given you a fair and honest assessment of this amp. I wouldn't buy it new for 800+ at MF, used with these mods and you have a friend for life. I would sell or trade it if it wasn't a great sounding amp.

My Rocket was made in April of 1962, with the random navy flair tolex.
This tolex was only available in 1961 and 1962. My power tubes are 6V6's. 15 watts.
This amp has pure soul. Lots of punch and sweet natural distoration when turned up. Plus it's built like a tank. Kendrick Amps in Texas did my re-capping and tubes to spec etc. Even the old amps need tune ups.

I play my Strat and Guild Starfire through this Rocket. The sound is sweet and soulful. Perfect for the blues, jazz and Rock'n Roll.
This amp has strong mid range to low range. High's are good but not strong.

So far so good. Kendrick Amps has been very supportive when needed.
St. Louis Music has been supportive, but has nothing for this amp. Kendrick is the man.

Mine is a single speaker reissue made in 1999.I bought it used.I didn't get the footswitch but I will probably try to find an original ampeg one to go with it.I simply love the look of this amp.Looks quite solid though it's not too heavy. The tubes have been changed with Mesa Boogies.I use this amp at home.I was looking at buying an Hot rod deluxe but found this little amp for 300US$ on a classified ads website,so for the price I paid I think I got a good deal on it.

As I said earlier the tubes have been changed with Mesa Boogies so some of my remarks might not apply to the stock amp. I love the clean channel, the sound comes close to my Mesa-Boogie Mark3,the reverberocket simply sounds clean with my stock Highway-1 Strat. As for the lead channel,I'm not too crazy about it, the sound is dry and it could use some brightness; I will have the amp checked because I'm not sure this is normal. The amp is not noisy. Again, I give this amp an 8 because the lead channel sounds dry but might be my amp that is f@cked up!

I have been playing off and on for about 11 years.I own one guitar, a 2003 Fender Highway 1 Stratocaster.I also play through an old Harmony H303 when it's late and don't want to piss of my girlfriend.I like this amp for the looks, the sound but also because I got mine for a cheap price. I would definitely pay up to a thousand dollars to get another one. This is an underrated amp that I find way better than any of those tweed peaveys or heavy fenders that need to be pushed to their limit to get them singing.

It's a '67, one channel, all-tube, two input, one speaker amp, with a reverb and tremelo footswitch. I bought it in '89 for $250. I dunno 'bout the wattage, and it's not very loud. I have to mike it during rehersal to keep pace with my drummer and singer.
But who cares? That trem effect is the best I've heard. I'm giving it a 5 for features, b/c IT IS NOT A VERSATILE AMP - it just does what it does, incredibly well.

I play a '99 Peavey Wolfgang Special or an '85 Les Paul Standard. Of course the Peavey pushes it harder. The bottom end is tight and full, which surprised me - alot of vintage amps get wooly at the low end, but not this one.
It is noisy as hell, but what do you expect? It's from '67. It has no "settings" per se, just a volume knob and treble and bass knobs.
The distortian isn't "brutal" at all - it's warm, sweet, and gritty.
Reliability
:2
It's not reliable, and in fact it blows up all the time. I would never gig with it. Once, at full volume, I turned on a ring modulater pedal, and blew the speaker right out. Another time, doing some dinky 4-track demos, it just overheated and died. But again, that was my fault - I left a 35-year-old amp on for 6 hours.
For a while, before the reissues, the only replacement tubes were available were from a factory in Georgia, in the former USSR.

I've been playing for 10 years. I've got a bunch of guitars, but onlt two other amps - An old ('77?) Fender Vibro Champ and a 5150 Peavey combo.
If it were lost, I'd defintely try to buy another one - the natural distortion is a joy to play with. Again, it's not versatile, but it does what it does very well.

I played through a brand new reissue and just loved it to death. Has clean and dirty channels, reverb, all tube with 1X12. I'm a pro, play country, jazz, blues, rock, fusion, funk, etc. I couldn't friggin' believe how GREAT this amp sounded. Couldn't stop playing. I was playing a cheapo Samick and was just thrilled by the sound. Great gritty distortion. For this price range you just can't beat it, it's like the great secret cheap amp nobody really talks about. If you're thinking about buying a Fender Hot rod deluxe forget about it and play through one of these.

It's got everything I need to jam with the boys. Solid tubes, clean and dirty channels, simple channel switching wiht included foot switch, effects loop, line in/out, etc. The speakers aren't bad but I think they could've thrown in something just a tad better but after 4 years they still sound like they did when I bought the amp. I do wish that it had seperate controls for the dirty and clean channels which is why I'm giving it a 9 and not a 10... It's loud enough to play out at any venue I've been too with no problems.

Well, the distortion isn't my cup of tea but it does a great job at getting gritty, down in the dirt blues tones and some decent classic guitar tones. I play a Guild S70D through with DMarizio Virtual Vintage pickups and it sounds pretty sweet. The clean channel, at about 4 or 5 starts get pumping and when you play hard throws out some wicked sounds, a real barnstormer at louder levels. I even play my Taylor acoustic through it with a fishman matrixII and platinum pro eq and it sounds great! It provides plenty of punch and with the right adjustments it actually makes the acoustic sound better then running it straight to the PA. I use a lot of delay in one of my projects and this amp does a great job at capturing the many layers and sending back out with an incredible sweetness. Again, the distortion isn't my cup of tea so I generally use a series of stomp boxes that I've had custom made to get the right tone...

4 years later and it still pumps out the jams with original speakers and tubes! Right now I wouldn't bring a backup but it's only because it's my only amp. I dumped my half stack a while back and went with this alone. I don't gig much right now but she hasn't let me down yet!

This has been a great amp and while it's not the best one out there, for the money it's a fine piece. I'd love to get a triple rectifier, maybe a budda or an orange but this is great for the money. If I had $3,000 or so burning a whole in my pocket I'd put this baby on the backburner and bring her as a spare. But I don't so she'll have to do... All in all, it was well worth the money. In the past Crate, Laney, Fender and Peavy have all let me down within 2 years and this old girl has stood strong for 4 years without calling it quits. Actually, the Laney let me down in under a month, what a piece of flaming shite and just $100 less then this baby!

This re-issue was made in 1999. clean / dirty settings with footswitch, line out, line in (1/4" jacks). 12" ampeg speaker, not a very good one. Chickenhead knobs, ya know, the vintage thing...... Effects loop would be nice.

What initially attracted me to this amp was the combo of nice clean sounds and down and dirty distortion. The gain is ridiculous on this amp ! The original Reverberockets had no where near this much gain. The overdrive quality is ideally suited for retro-type stuff (think Stones), garage rock, or punk. The clean sound on the other hand is pretty cool. If you have a single-coil pickup guitar you can get some nice, chime-y, tones like you were playing a rick. You have to be very careful with the gain both in clean and dirty modes: requires a lot of playing around.

This is where this product gets the big smackdown, I'm afraid. This amp gave me problems right from the beginning with buzzing, noise, etc. The tubes became microphonic within about 2 months. Also, because of the shoddiness of the housing, a really noticeable quaking sound was coming out of the amp which was only fixed after i had a tech look at it and he had to pad certain sections of the amp with foam to eliminate it. he also mentioned that he'd worked on a lot of the Reverberocket re-issues, and he'd seen/heard this before. Another problem: cheap circuit board designs inside, bad glue jobs. If Ampeg is going to charge $400-$500 for an amp, they need to have better quality control for products in that price range. So, i consider the reliability of the amp to be 'not very good'. I'm also trying to get my hands on a better speaker (maybe celestion). There is a certain black / white quality to the stock speaker, and there seems to be very high volume peaks when you initially attack a note.

I'm an Ampeg fan, but my experience with this amp has shaken my confidence in them, especially hearing from multiple sources that their re-issues are "JUNK". I like this amp, but if had to do it over again i would have probably sprung for a used Fender Champ or something along those lines. I've spent $75 on repair, and i still need a speaker....

Although tone-wise this amp has much to recommend it, i wouldn't advise getting one of the Reverberocket re-issues unless you're a tinkerer !!!

I bought the amp in 98. its a re issue. 2 channels, clean and Dirty. Lacks speaker out jack, no lines in or out for fx. Primarily use at parties and garage jams. Plenty of power to keep up with most contenders. All tubes...sounds like a tube amp should.

So far, I havnt had the chance to play the axe I would like to play through it, but my epi les paul sounds ok. I made the mistake of putting dimarzio's on it, when I should have put a couple of classic 57 humbuckers in instead. Even so, sounds nice at low levels, but when fully loaded sounds like a tube amp is supposed to. I can play santana through it and it sounds sweet. Not too heavy to lug around, yet more than powerful for most jams. Spring reverb is very 60's, which is ok with me.

This amp was built in 1998. It is a 2X12 50 Watt beauty. I play in a top forty band, so we perform classic rock, alternative, blues, and dance music. I use a Boss GT3 multi effects unit and this amp can sound like anything. I have discovered that I prefer to send the effects output to the amp input rather than the effects loop in. The preamp on this amp just sings. I fussed around a lot with digital processors and one day just happen to plug my guitar (a gorgeous Hamer archtop solidbody with SD P90's)straight into the amp and just fell in love with the sound of this amp again. There are 2 channels, clean and overdriven. They are switched via an INCLUDED footswitch (for Crate, et al... I want one of you guys to be playing a clean intro, and then show me how you can quickly reach down and change the channel with your hand and not miss your cue for the big rhythm tone verse section!!!) Really wish it had a separate EQ for each channel. An external speaker jack would have been nice.

This amp really shows off its thoroughbred heritage. The sound is 100% all american, rich warm tube amp. The clean channel sparkles like a Twin, and the overdrive just warms up smoothly over the full range of signal. The clean channel breaks up nicely at the top, but never gets muddy. The overdriven channel is good for classic rock smoothly sustained sounds (a little mid-rangey) but will never make a "death metal" sound on its own. Hell, thats when my GT3 really does the job. I have noticed the occasional radio broadcast, but that is probably my poorly shielded practice cable.

I have been playing for 20 years. I have more guitars and amps than you can shake a stick at, at some point I have played through every major brand (Fender, Marshall, Crate, Peavy, Roland, Randall, Laney, Mesa, Riviera, etc..). This liitle amp is about damn near perfect for your basic bar band setting. Enough punch to be heard. Enough tube sound to be musical. Sweet tone, serious reverb (go too high and you are in the grand canyon domain), and really accepts effects with a great deal of transparency. Every now and again I encourage everyone to skip all the "stuff" and just plug a good guitar into the "Guitar" input (I have never actually plugged into the accordian input or seen an accordian player use an amp) and crank it up. You will remember why guitarists have had a 50 year ongoing love affair with tube amplifiers.
