I use this for my 12 string with the 4x12 cab and an Old Ampeg cab with a 15" Altec. It's the most amazing sounding BIG acoustic sound I've ever heard and anyone I've shown it to agrees. Distortion is of course useless. If you've got a boomy acoustic around, plug it into this thing and give it a try. It's neat to see the bewilderment when pople see you pull up a half stack and then plug in a 12-string. That is until they hear it.

For what I'm using it for, I'd never get rid of it and would replace it with at least a similar ampeg model of lost

THIS IS THE TUBE, AMPEG REVERB ROCKET R-50 HEAD, IT HAS TWO CHANNELS, CLEAN AND DISTORTION. I USE THIS WITH MY AMPEG 4-12 SPEAKER CABNET, IT ALSO A FOOT PEDAL TWO SWITCH BETWEEN CHANNELS. THE AMPEG HAS A LINE IN AND OUT ON THE FRONT PANEL WHICH IS EASY FOR CONNECTIONS AND TWO GUITAR INPUTS. THE USUAL CONTROLS, 3-BAND EQ MASTER VOLUME, GAIN ETC. I PLAY IN A CLASSIC ROCK BAND AND USE MOSTLY CLEAN SETTINGS. THE AMP SEEMS TO BE PLENTY LOAD AND HOLD IT'S OWN WITH THE OTHER INSTRUMENTS.

I HAVE THREE GUITARS THAT I PLAY THROUGH THIS AMP, A RICKENBACKER 330, AN AMERICAN STRAT DELUXE AND A EPIPHONE RIVIERA. THE CLEAN CHANNEL IS CRYSTAL CLEAR AND WARM, THE 4-12 CABNET HAS A CLOSED BACK AND THE BASS GETS A LITTLE "BOOMY" I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY TURN IT DOWN. THE CLEAN SEEMS TO "SPARKLE" AND REALLY BRINGS MY STRAT TO LIFE. I THINK IT'S A GREAT AMP FOR CLASSIC ROCK, COUNTRY AND BLUES. ON THE DISTORTION SIDE, I'M NOT INTO HEAVY METAL, BUT I WOULD SAY IT HAS A GOOD "OLD TIME" DISTORTION OF THE 70'S ERA BUT WOULD BE A DISSAPOINTMENT TO HEAVY METAL PLAYERS.

I PURCHASE MY REVERB ROCKET USED, IT HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE VOLUME CUTTING OUT BUT AFTER TAKING TO MY LOCAL REPAIR MAN AND ADDRESSING SOME SOLDERING ISSUES IT PLAYS GREAT AND HAS BEEN VERY DEPENDABLE.

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR 32 YEARS, IF IT WERE LOST OR STOLEN i WOULD TRY TO GET ANOHTER ONE. I WISH IT HAD A HEADPHONE JACK TO SPARE MY WIFE THE LONG PRACICE HOURS BUT NOT A BIG DRAW BACK. REALLY LOVE THE CLEAN SOUND OF THIS AMP.
ONE FINAL NOTE: I HAVE RELIED ON HARMONY CENTRAL MANY TIMES, FOR INFORMATION ON MUSIC GEAR I'M CONSIDERING PURCHASING. IT'S FRUSTRATING TO ME, WHEN SOME GUY GIVES A POOR RATING ON A GREAT AMP BECAUSE HE EXPECTS AND AMP THAT'S DESIGNED FOR CLEAN SOUND, TO BE LIKE MESA BOOGIE OR A MARSHALL STACK! THEN THIS FORUM BECOMES A SOAP BOX FOR IDIOTS, AND IT MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT TO GET A FAIR AND ACCURATE RATING FOR ANYTHING WE LOOK TO PURCHASE. I THINK I SPEAK FOR MANY WHEN I SAY, TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY AND THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE!
HAVE A NICE DAY,

This amp does not have very many features, but it does have enough for me. 2 channels, reverb knob. I use this amp for shows and practice, it has a very versatile volume knob, for both the gain and the clean channel. Tube head.

I am currently playing a Squier strat through it, but it still sounds magnificent. I've played other guitars through it and it sounded even better. I have played many styles of music through it, but it seems to suit rock and roll the most. The clean channel is incredibly clean all the time, no matter what volume, and sounds amazing. The distortion isn't all that great, not alot of gain, but enough to play almost any style of music, though metal may require more crunchy disotrtion.

This is a really dependable amp. I use it all the time and it hasn't failed me yet. I wouldn't think twice about bringin a back up for this one.

I have been playing guitar for over 3 years now, and played through many amps, and this one is my favorite so far. If it were stolen or lost I would definately buy another one. This is an amazing amp for $300. It's an amazing amp for $500. I love the clean channel, I love the distortion. It would be alot better if the gain channel was more versatile, but again, it works just fine for my tastes.

This amp seems to feature a lot of power behind it, this is my first tube head. Im a fan of having independent controls for each channel, this amp does not have them. If you are too lazy to use effects pedals, this amp is not for you. It basically gives you a good clean tone to build on because the gain is nothing.

The clean channel has a really nice tone. The gain channel is completely weak though, you lose a lot of bottom end and the tone just doesnt compare to when it's clean.Im using a DOD death metal distortion ( i dont play extreme metal or anything) on the clean channel and it sounds very pro.

The tone controls are working fine, especially the treble control. The sound possibillities are limited.

This is a very special amp. The clean tone is very clean without any compression. The distortion channel is smooth, warm with a lot of middles and less bass. The lead sound is fat and compressed. This is the amp "Boogie" users dream of. It sounds best with the Ampeg 4x12 cabinet.

The clean channel on this amp sounds nice.
The distortion sucks for any type of music.
The eq doesn't cover a wide range of frequences -- useless.
The reverb sucks too. Sorry

This amp has hardly any bass response.
I tried it through a Mesa 4x12 w/ vintage celestions and a SG
and it still sounded like crap. I tried using several pedals to try and build a decent distorted sound but couldn't get any bass response -- that is hard to do with the Mesa cab.
The impedance selector switch is weak too.

I've played for 10+ years, in gigging bands for 8+ years and have played on many setups. I can usually get some kind of decent tone out of most amps, even solid state amps. Unfortunately this amp is a complete failure unless you only care about clean tone.

It lists for a $1000 but i was happy to get the artist cut. It blends well with my Marshall JCM 2000. Im real satisfied. I do own the combo of this, but after running it with two Marshall 4 12 cabs, it blows that away!
