I boughh this in 1997 becaues it was small & 50 watts of tube power. I also like that there are few knobs. volume, tone, reverb, speed, intensity. Also has a foot pedal for the reverb & trem

Used a tele & then a SG. Both guitars sound great. The trem is great, the reverb is OK, but no as good a Fender's. I you want it to break up, you have to play real loud, 'round 7. This is real loud.
It cam with 6L6 povewr tubes. After gigging for 2 years, I went to EL34s when it was time for new tubes. Sounds better. Breaks up at 6 now, & becomes more compressed. SO the tube change is recommended fromthe start.

I have had no problems with this amp. It still works/ looks like new with 200+ gigs. When I got it new, it came witha t 5 year warrentee (from Crate)

With the new tubes, it has a bit of a plexi feel, without the 4x12 cab though. It would be nice if it had a speaker out jack. The thing I don't like is that the cab is real small. If it were just a bit bigger, there'd be more breathing room. I would recommend the amp.
