Rock Blues Jazz very versatile, except for oh yeah metal! Thank GOd no metal. Tube recticfier, all tube driven. Mine has same features as other, but some were solid state rectifiers. Haven't found another to make a comparison as they were very rare and few produced. Top of the line AMPEG, better than my reverborocket II, the reverb is huge in stereo and the stereo sound in general is great. 2 12's mine has replacement eminence legends and it sounds HUGE, as good or better than the original Jensens IMHO. The Jensens were nice but getting older and it was time for the swap.

Great JAZZ TONES, GREAT ROCK, Blues!! Just a wonderful amp. Built like a tank and with a footswitchable tremelo and reverb. I agree with the other reviews about the clean tones being superior. It doesn't tube overdrive like a vintage fender though. Crystal cleans, balanced tone , ample bass, and just a great amp. Can;t say it is the only amp I play but it gets played a lot out of my amps. For Jazz and Blues it is the ticket!!!! I actually love Supros for Rock too, and I have FUCHS ODS matched with a great Two rock cab with eminence also. FOr me if I can;t have a vintage JBL or ALTEC then the eminence PA speakers or legends are the way to go. Clean and flat. The jensens in my SUpro royal reverb and Supro made Harmony H-415 sound like a perfect match, but Ilike the eminence better in this ampeg. This amp was reviewed by several sources as the greatest stereo amp and I would certainbly say I love it. Haven;t tried the Gibson stereo, but have no need.

Changed one output transformer, which would normally suck, but fitted a Mercury Magnetics AMPEG replica and it is just spot on!! They make great output transformers at MMag. No static, low hum, but enough vintage hum to keep its vintage character.

I have only owned this for about 2 years now. Bought it on ebay . Hate buying like that, but couldn't resist as you don't come across one of these often. Luckily the seller was great and packed it meticulously. Condition is close to excellent. Sounded immense out of the box. It is a family heirloom now. Will never sell it. You couldn;t find a boutique amp builder who will build something so unique and distinct like this. They could replicate it, but how many boutique amp makers are truly creating novel products with unique tones. This is a wonderfully designed amplifier that was built with top quality components and it emits serious MOJO and not because it is old but because they captured some great tones with the design of these OLD AMPEGS. Not just AMPEG but they are certainly one of a dozen or so really top quality tube amplifiers IMHO. Some one here mentioned Standel tube amps. They ar another example of a vintage compay breaking ground and building the best quality amps possible, regardless of finances, maybe to a fault. The earliest Standels built by Crooks still marvel the audiophiles in quality of components and custom tone. The second run were in line with these amazing ampegs. Not all built by Crooks but still amazingly built amps. I sold my 30J15T but still have a second run S80 piggy back all tube Standel and have my eye on a reissue. Buy AMPEG, if you can find an ET2 that needs only light work, a Reverborocket, or some of the JETS. preferably form the late 50's early 60's you wouldn;t be disappointed. They will only gain greater value as they are under appreciated, but gaining steam. I paid 1700 and it a deal to me. But you can still find reverborockets for under 7-800. As an old friend used to say "shoot the lock, kid".

THis is a vintage 60's Ampeg Echo ET2 Bad A*s Stereo 2x10 combo all tube, including tube rectifier amp. It has 2 Jensen speakers, and true stereo function, both amps powered by 2 6v6 and 6sl7 preamp tubes. This amp has a footswitch for its amazing echo reverb and tremelo. Cool vinateg AMPEG tolex. Nice big transformers and a beautiful but simle design, much like the delux reverb but two into a songle combo, with KILLER KILLER REVERB!!!

This is my personal favorite amp. I saw one other review and there are not many out there as they were rare and expensive amps at the time. They are sought after but not as much as they should be. I own 2 vintage blackface fender deluxes and had many more, dearmond 210T, Matchless DC30, NAU Engineering deluxe reverb custom, Holland Kenny Burrell, and a Bruno Cowtipper. This amp is the one I play everyday as the reverb is just stunning and the clean tone is just gorgeous with anything from a strat to a full size 17 inch archtop. I am priamrily a Jazz Player but i play some aggressive jazz often and use distortion pedals and overdrive regularly. This amp is the nuts!!!!! I was a big fender deluxe guy for years and stumbled upon this ET-2 about 12 years ago. LOVE everything about it except that it is vintage and I cannot take it out of the home, just wouldn't want to damage it. I take the Holland and Matchless out or one of my solidstate jazz amps if small gig. Ample headroom and just 3D CLEAN!!!!!!

This again is my go to amp!! Not for the road, but for personal tonal fulfillment. Vintage MOJO all the way and gorgeous clean fat Jazz tone too. This amp is hard to find but if you can find one for less than 1800 go for it. They are killer and built like tanks. Jess Oliver is still around in NY and he can fix any problem basically and he has a great deal of NOS ampeg parts. I haven't needed him for this particular amp but he did some amazing work on a vintage reverborocket AMPEG i had.

This amp is from the prime "blue check" New Jersey, USA era. Built in 1962. This is a true stereo amp based on two 6SL7 pre-amp tubes and two 7591 power tubes per side. It also has two solid state rectifiers and one 5Y3GT tube rectifier for power. It has a pair of original Jensen C12Q speakers - wired one per side. The two amps can be hooked together for 30+ watts of mono powere or the two amps can be split as individual mono amps at 15 watts or the two amps can be run together as a stereo amp for a stereo guitar (like a Rickenbacker) with each pickup running one amp. For example the bridge pickup can run the right channel and the neck pickup can run the left channel. Very cool. It also has a HUGE reverb and tremolo for each channel - which can be run dry on one channel and wet on the other channel OR run with effects on both channels at the same time. Massive variety of tones and effects. Foot pedal is hard wired in - which is great. No wonder it is considered by many amp critics to be one of the best guitar amps ever made by Ampeg.

This amp sounds very, very sweet. Wonderful clean jazz tones, meaty blues, classic 60's rock. This amp can do pretty much anything you want except hard core. The 6SL7 pre tubes have a much beefier bottom end than 12AX7s. Smooth mids and very clean highs too.

Never had to use Ampeg support. Still some great Ampeg techs around if you need one for the old vintage stuff.
