Overall Sound quality is Excellent!! Voice or Guitar. The 16 Reverb Effects are of professional quality. The Notch Filters are fab and have solved previous feedback issues. Have plugged in electrics re: Fender Teles and Strats and although not crystal clear it does produce very nice and workable sounds re: 'overdiveish' but not over
the top!

Am generally into electric guitars (20 years+) but last few years have been strumming along with accoustics. To me (and my ears), and as others who have listened and played through it, the amp sounds natural. No regrets on this piece and she's a keeper!

This is an early, MADE IN UK version. The control layout is the early layout....probably just pre 2003. I bought it second hand...it had been the property of James Dean Bradfield of The Manic Street Preachers before I got it. 2 channels, one with an Alesis effects board. This amp has gone through several versions...this early one has a 12" speaker and is LOUD. there was a later version with 2 8" speakers which was not as stage worthy....now the company have released a 12" version again for competition against the backdrop of powerful bassists!!!
I play a loada differnt styles, using a Gibson Sheryl Crow signature semi acoustic which has wonderful tones through this amp. There is NOTHING lacking in this amp when used in combination with a Gibson, to my ears.

There is NO distortion. This is HiFi at its cleanest, although dialling in the tube section of the preamp does warm your sound up noticeably. I have plenty of rock amps...Fender, Hiwatt, Matamp, Marshall, in my studio, and believe me I do not need another acoustic amp. This one does it all, and with style. My Sheryl positively glitters with this amp.

The amp arrived with a broken pot shaft on the treble pot, and my technician found layer after layer of electronics which were almost from another era in the way the circuit board was populated. The controls, case, finish, is beyond industrial...the whole thing feels almost agricultural, in an Indian motorcycle sort of way.

I contacted the company, they let me have a schematic immediately. I contacted them again saying I needed a new treble pot and a knob. They sent me one out free of charge by return. I contacted them again to say that the pot was the wrong type. They apologised, and said they'd send me another out straight away. Very personal service, very helpful. No other company I've dealt with other than Acoustical Manufacturing (Quad), who are the Rolls Poyce of HiFi in the UK, have come anywhere close to Ashdown. THOROUGHLY recommended.

This is a pocket rocket. It's a real find for me....I was wondering about an AER or a Unico, but I am REALLY happy with this. It's a keeper.

This is a top of the line acoustic amp. I have the latest version made after 2003. Many upgrades from previous reviews. 150 watts for lots of power. Two channels, one from guitar one for microphone. 5 band EQ. Excellent shape botton that does a quick EQ fix for typical acoustic guitar. Each channel has a good notch filter which killed my feedback issues. 16 Digital reverb affects. Much simplier to use than previous configurations. DI out the back, effects loop, lines in. Can only take combined channels out the back.

I think the sound quality is excellent. Warm and clear. Excellent for voice. Digital effects give you flexiblity and a professional quality.
Some slight residual noice but hardly noticable.

I have been play 30 years. My only other acoustic amp has been a 200 wat t Genz Benz. That is a very good amp but this one I think sounds a little more natural. Also this one is a little more portable. Still at close to 50 pounds it is not a portable as some. I have to believe it is a good compromise between having some that can fill and room and something small enough to carry in. Has a really quality feel and look. This one is still made in England and seems like it will last a long time

2 channels, 7 band eq each, 120W, mute switch, vu meter, DI out, effect loop and so on. Wish it had names on the built in effects, but ater a while you get to know what is where.

this thing sounds great! I played nice and crappy guitars through it and the eq is very effective! Some distortion occurs at higher volumes, expecially if you plug in a mic for vocals. It looks like the cone cannot keep up with the power amp, but again, you have plenty of power. To bad when your bass player has a 500w monster... no way you can keep up with that, but again, an acoustic guitar would feedback way before the match is even!
by the way, the double notch filter is incredible: you can avoid feedback without killing your sound.
don't use the tube stage very often, but it sounds nice on some guitars.
tried to plug in a strat and turned the tube full on... sounds very warm, kind of a tube screamer but softer..

I tried every acoustic amp out there before getting this one. With my guitar and my stile it was perfect (I haven't given a chance to the AER, but they sound a little to bright to me...)
if it got stolen... I'd look for the thief to kick him! It would take me years to save that much money again.
not worth it if don't have a nice guitar (it might cost more that the actual guitar...)

this is a new acoustic 125 watt amp. It is strictly made for acoustic guitars only. I play all types of music from jazz to rock to country and use a great carvin ae 175 electic acoustic with active electronics. The amp has 2 channels-one is tube, the other solid state for various sounds and a special 8 inch speaker. It has an digital effects built in by alexis which sound ok at best. The amp has no ex. speaker cab-a big drawback when you consider all there is is one 8 inch speaker.

The amp looks absolutely beautiful with a wood cabinet, vu meter and cane speaker cover. But the amp itself-despite its ton of buttons and knobs does not perform as it should. The acoustic sound is decent but not as natural as some others. To make matters worse it distorts at any real volume and makes all the 125 watts pretty meaningless. The real topper is this amp sells at 1399!!!! Fortunately it was a loaner and I returned it utterly heartbroken because I really hoped to get this amp built on its look and hype.
