What you would expect from a standard Head unit, 2 drive channels, 1 clean, reverb, effects loop, two speaker signal outputs.
Would have been nice to have separate EQ on the two drive channels, but it does have independant EQ for the clean and distortion.

Sound Quality : 7
It's no tube amp, but for the price you pay it's a decent sound, and has decent volumes too.

I play frequent Jazz gigs, playing an Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II straight into the amp, the EQ works well to get a decent tone.
Reverb is unusable past around 2 on the clean channel, because it buzzes a bit, which you don't notice on the distortion channel.

Distortion isn't too bad for a cheap solid state, I think that partly has to do with the dynamics of the 4x12 cabinet, as this distortion sounds fatter than the 1x12 combo version of this same amp.
My main complaints about the distortion channel are that:
A) You can't get a really mild distortion (with gain on 0 there is still a fair bit of distortion!)
B) The channel itself isn't loud enough, the clean channel is a LOT louder, it is possible to balance it up by turning the clean channel volume down quite far and turning Dist. channel volume right up.

Reliability : 10
Never had any problems with mit breaking down, but the footswitch played up a bit, but I managed to fix it without any hassle, it just required me to re-wire the plug.

I gig all the time without a backup :P

Customer Support : No Opinion
Havn't had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 9
Having this amp has been a learning curve about amplifiers and speakers, and with that in mind I probably would not buy it again, mostly due to the fact that I have more money now that I am gigging frequently, and am actually looking at buying a small fender combo amp for jazz gigs, but I will still use this stack for metal and hard rock in the mean time :)

For the price I paid for this amp it has had a lot of use and has been very enjoyable.

Got enough features shamhe it sounds like ass

Sound Quality : 1
sounds fucking terrible

It is absolute crap compared to a real tube amp, this thing has no definition & sounds sterile. Sure it has tones of gain, reminded me of the time i trapped 8 bees in a bottle - all buzzz. Clean is horible & lifeless

I laughed at the below reveiw, they must be comparing to other solid state heads because the clean on this is shit as well. Might be ok compared to MG series Marshall but i guarantee it wont touch anything tube driven

Reliability : 10
It wont break, i know this because i've kicked it off the top of my 4x12 hoping it would die but it didn't

Cheap ass made in china amp didn't fricken break. I'll try it again one day and see how it goes. deserves a 10 here

I actually got this amp in a stack version and i think for the price it gives a good range of features, reverb, 2 distortion types, clean, Eq's etc.

Sound Quality : 9
I'm running a Epiphone les paul thhru it and may i say it is perfect for the style of music i'm playing. i think it has one of he best reverbs i have ever heard thru amp (not effect) and has a beautiful clean tone. Distortion is very nice aswell, if you have it turned above a 7 standard it can get a little loud and chunky, but you would never need it that loud.............if i could say it reminds me of any amp, i would say Mesa Boogie

Reliability : 10
I would use this amp for anything, great durability

Customer Support : No Opinion
3 year warranty, i've had it for 9 months and have had no problems.

Overall Rating : 9
For the price, i would pick it over a marshall mg100 stack anyday.......it has a great clean tone, with a good distortion. unlike marshalls that have only good distortion, this amp has good dist and clean......great reverb. i would suggest this amp to anyone.

Quite versatile in the price range (ie very cheap solid state head)

Sound Quality : 5
Not crash hot, it sounds just like a solid state amp but unfortunately this just gets worse when the amp is at stage volumes, the distortion sounded better when it was at bedroom levels. It did get a bit better when i used an eq in the loop.

Reliability : 10
SO far so good. it's not my main amp now (I just use it as back up)but it feels sturdy enough

Customer Support : 10

Overall Rating : 7
For a cheap solid state head it's not too bad, but don't expect it to be as good as their Viper series.

the shton ga100h wasmade in australia whick i like
i play heavy rock (metallica,ac/dc,iron maiden, black sabbath) i neva use the effects loop because i nevery use effects i ike to plug strait in it has a footswitch with 3 switches clean, dirts, boost
this amp is probably the most powerfull anp ive played i use it for gigs and occasional rehersals and its pleanty loud enuf

Sound Quality : 10
i use it with my epiphone g400 sg, it sounds awsorme with the bridge humbucher itsgets a bit noisy sometimes up loud and high gain
this amp is very versatile i can make most sounds with it
the clean channal stays clean all the way up i dont recomend doing his its lound it hurts your ears on 3
the dirty channal is asourme its like th early metallica but the real fun comes in with the boost its loud and very heavy likesorta pantara distortion.

Reliability : 10
i dont have enuy money for a backup (im 15 ) BUT i would gig without a backup.
the amp has never broken down on me

Overall Rating : 9
i have been playing for 3 year and this is my second amp my first amp was peavy 15 watt rage (very loud for 15 watts) i play it through a g400 sg and a eg112 yamamha.i would buy it again if it was stolen or lost. i love the colour of the light that tells you the amp i on itslike a fluro blue. i dont like the input sockets they sometimesgt a bit loose.
i chose this over the marshall mg100fx and the ashton kickeed it in sound ad loudness.
i only wish you could get a little 1x12" cabinet because the 4x12" is heavy to drag to rehersals

The amp is fairly new and I have owned it for about 6 months now. I generally play melodic death metal in the vein of soul devoured, dark tranquility, at the gates but it goes right through to brutal death/grind like aborted, dying fetus and cryptopsy. I also play very clean stuff so this is not completely biased.

This amp has the ability for an external footswitch, which I have not used and thus will not comment on. It has a SEND/RETURN which works great with pedals and external processors etc. It also has a headphone jack but I have not used it.

The amp has 3 channels - clean, dirty and boost. I have used this amp at rehearsals, at some gigs and alot at home. It has the power!

It has a 3 band EQ, an inbuilt reverb, a master volume plus a seperate volume for the dirty/boost channels and the clean channel - good for foot switching. It also has a 'contour' control on the dirty/boost channels which acts like a mid scoop.

Sound Quality : 7
I've tried it with a gibson and two jacksons with EMG-81's and it worked well. It's quite chunky for melodic death metal but it is not suitable for the very brutal ie cryptopsy and aborted. The clean channel is whisper quiet. The dirty channel can get noisy but thats only when the gain is too high to sound good anyway. The clean channel remains clean at all times which is good and the distortion as I said, is rather good for the more rock or melodic death metal.

Reliability : 9
As far as reliability goes, this thing is gooooooooood. I have used it on gigs without a backup and it's worked fine. It has never broken down in any way, shape, or form. I even dropped it once somehow hahahaha and it was absolutely fine. I havn't had it forever but its been so good this way I'll give it a nine.

Customer Support : 8
Mine came with a 3 year warranty but fucked if i'll need it! ;)
Ashton seemed cool and down to earth to deal with which I like. Plus they are aussie.

Overall Rating : 7
I own many other amps and this one was up there with the top ones. If it were stolen, i'd beat the wigger who stole it and take it back for some melodic goodness. If it were lost, suck shit to me for being a lazy fucker. I wouldn't buy it again because I play mostly grind and brutal death but if I were to do another melodic project I would probably invest in one again.

This is an Australian made solid state amp, that features 3 channels (dirty gain, boost gain, and clean), it has just a standard three band eq for the clean and distortion channels. I came with a 4x12 quad featuring 4 rocket 50 celestian speakers. The amp also features a head phone jack, reverb and 100watts rms of pure power! To begin, I use this amp in my band (for gigging and rehersal) our music style is mainly industrial - combining metal, melodic, techno, punk, hardcore, & sampling elements. The distortions on this amp are good (depending on your style), similar to that of a marshall stack (crisp and bright) the only drawback being they create a constant hush noise - this can easily be fixed up with a noise gate, reverb on the amp is ok when used with the clean channel. The volume of this amp is one of its high points, for playing gigs one would not have a problem being heard.

Sound Quality : 8
I am currently using an Ibanez rg270 with stock standard pickups, I run this through an ax1000g effects processor. This amplifier on its own would not suit our style of music, I need to use wide variety of guitar sound and this amplifier does not provide for that. I find the distortion lacks for our style of music and that it is too noisy to be used without a noise gate. The one thing I would strongly recommend is to use your effects on this amp. The clean channel on this amp is great, very full and not the slightest bit noisy (even when the volume is on full), you can get some great blues sounds out the amp's clean channel.

Reliability : 10
I have owned this amp for a little over 2 months. It has been used constantly for gigging and rehersal since the day I bought it. It is a very reliable amp, I have had abosutely no problems with it, and as it is a solid state amp it requires next to no maintanance.

Customer Support : No Opinion
The amplifier comes with a three year warranty, you can register with Ashton online which is pretty handy. I have not yet delt with the company.

Overall Rating : 8
I have been playing guitar for 11 years to date and I have used many different ampliers. I find that the Ashton GA100H is a great value for money amp (a full size amp and cabinet for under $1000!). If I was to campare this amp, it's quite like a Marshall JCM 900. The amp could do with less noise in the distrotion department but apart from that this amp is great. Very affordable, reliable and most importantly LOUD!
