Well, I'd say this a pretty darn well spec'd amp. Two channels, with two gain contrls on each, effects loop, reverb etc etc.
Considering the price, this is a darn good feature list, not that I really cared about that, I'm only really interested in the clean channel and the reverb.

Top marks for sound quality.
I bought this head simply because it has a 2x EL34 power amp stage, and I was going to use it to pull apart and make a Marshall JMP50 clone out of it.
After receiving it and playing it a bit first, I think I'll leave it as is.
The clean channel is really nice and clean with plenty of headroom, and for the brief time I'v tested the mean channel, it sounded very usable to me.
Reliability

The unit seems to be far better built than I was expecting, but I've not had the amp long to really see what the reliability is like

I've been playing for more than 15 years now, and I've owned and still do own a large amount of gear. I've got vintage fenders , vox's, an orange combo and a few other amps. This one may not beat all of them, but it certainly keeps up, and does it well.
I would not hesitate to recommend this amp to anyone.
Really, forget your preconceptions of what the Ashton brand means, forget about how you'll fell asking to try an Ashton at the local guitar shop, forget about everything else, trust your ears and try one.
