Load w/4 Eminence Ramrods, black tolex, wheat Grill, white grill piping around edge, partial open-back, recessed metal handles. 8ohms - w/speaker out. The build quality is outstanding - no issues, looks beautiful. Fantastic value for $389.

Compared to my other cab, a open backed 2x12 (celestion V30 & G12h), this cab is a bit darker, less high-fi, more of classic rock tone. Earlier break-up, but still pretty tight - never mushes out (my main amp is Dr.z 6545). Has a pretty aggressive rock tone, but not harsh - sounds great to me.

Reliability : 9
1 year and counting, no problems.

These guys are the best. period. I've ordered a few cabs and speakers over the years and these guys are great. Something is holding up your order for a day or two, expect a call explaining and apologizing for the dealy and for them to throw in a t-shirt to ease your pain - so cool! Seriously, I support these guys all the way, high quality products at reasonable prices with oustanding customer service - I mean does it get any better than that?

Overall Rating : 10
This is great cab. And with the new cabs coming out with much more styling I just can't see any reason to look elsewhere. And these cabs sound fantastic. Would I replace the 4x10 - yew, but I'm kind of a gear pig, so I'd try other stuff first. But I will also know this cab is GREAT match for amp and quality rock tones.

I picked the wheat colored grill and it is beautiful addition to my stage rig. The recessed handles are comfortable and make the cab very easy to carry. In addition to the nice handles, the cab size is very managable and light weight. The tolex was flawless, and there is two inputs on the back at 4 ohms.

My only complaint is that the speaker cloth was a bit loose, but I dont think all the cabs have this problem and was easily fixed with a staple gun.

Im playing through this cab with a 50 watt Randall higain tube combo, and a Washburn Idol guitar. Immediately my amp tone had to be adjusted because the closed back cab packs a lot of punch, and by punch i mean bass. But after rolling back the bass this thing sounds amazing. My dirty channel sounded more clear and fills the room with sound. If i turn up the bass its good for metal and rolling it back gets a great rock tone. It was worth the purchase for the projection alone, my amp only has one speaker and this cab breathed new life into the tone and fullness of my sound. The four Celestion G10 vintage speakers sound infinately better than the celestion seventy eighty thats in my amp combo. Soaring highs, ripping mid range, and given the closed back of the cab tight, thunderous bass.

Reliability : No Opinion
There is no reason for me to believe this cab won't hold up in the elements of regular gigging, its very solid and I've had no problems.

Dave at Avatar is an awesome guy, and makes sure every customer is satisfied with their purchase. The cab is well made so I probably will never contact them about repair.

I've been playing for about five years and this is my last major purchase as guitar player. If some goon stole my cab i wouldnt think twice about replacing it with the same cab. I love the tone, and think it's the best 410 on the market (and extremely affordable). If i were to order the four speakers from a catalog it would have cost me more than I paid for the entire cab, so its a steal at the price and clearly the best choice you can make. You will never regret buying this 410.

This is the latest offering, to the already outstanding, Avatar speaker cabinet product line. I believe this 410 configuration was just added about two months ago.

It's a compact, closed back cabinet, featuring the same solid construction as the other cabinets that Avatar is well know for. It's built from 13-ply voidless Baltic Birch with rabbett and dado interlocking side joints, this thing is furniture. It weighs in a 55lbs. The classic black tolex covers the cab. I chose the wheat colored grille cloth. Very beautiful, if one can refer to a speaker cabinet as such.

Like their other cabinets, two very solid metal handles are recessed into the sides of the cabinet. I prefer this arrangement to leather or plastic "dog-bone" handles on some extension cabinets, (My mind is always thinking, when are the screws to one of those going to let go?). The Avatar 410 removes this fear and provides the user with a pro solution and total peace of mind.

The closed back cab is set-up with two inputs to facilitate daisy chaining this cabinet into another extension cab.

The size is just right 24 x 24 x 12 inches.

Avatar seems to have a way of picking the right speakers for their cabinets. They chose to install 4 Celestion Vintage 10's. More about them later.

My rig, for use with this cabinet, is essentially a 1966 Fender Bandmaster head. That amp has the same AB763 circuit as the Super Reverbs of that era. Without the reverb, but with the Tremolo, I thought maybe this cabinet would give me that Super Reverb tone in a more portable package, (head/cabinet).

I plug in and voila! Damn close. Actually better with the Vintage 10's, because the break-up of the Super Reverb's Jensens C10R's is a bit more coarse an earlier on the dial. The Celestion Vintage 10's get some nice break-up higher on the dial, and then clean-up when you roll back the guitar volume. The Celestions are rated at 60w, where a vintage Super Reverb with the C10R's were rated at 40w.

A friend brought his 1967 Super Reverb with C10R's over to A/B them together. In the interest of accuracy, I had played the Celestion Vintage 10's for about 8 hours total, to break them in. I would think they will reach maximum tonality within a few months.

Over the course of an hour, we put both amps through the paces: with pedals, without pedals, Stratocasters, Telecasters, Les Pauls, SG's, ES-335's. At the end of this session, we determined that the Vintage 10's were excellent with all combinations.

Was it exactly like the Super Reverb's Jensen's - no. But overall, the range of tones was more pleasing and versatile.

I had initially thought to swap out the Vintage 10's for some Jensens. Not now, since I've heard the Celestions. This is a GREAT speaker with this Bandmaster head.

I have not used any other head with this cabinet. It's just perfect for my needs with the Bandmaster.

This is my second cab from Avatar. Bought the 212 Special cab with the Vintage 30 and the 70th Anniversary. Never a problem. No reason to assume I will have any problems with this cab either.

Just read the other reviews. As I said earlier, these cabs are extremely well built.

Dave, the Head of the Cabinet over there at Avatar, embodies the definition of customer service. He's eager to help, he often answers the phone himself, and he does what he says he's going to do. His warranty is solid - like his product.

I've been playing for over 40 years; gigging, recording, jamming, etc. I've bought and sold 40 year's worth of amps, guitars, and effects. I've had to rely on my equipment to perform, better than I do. The Avatar products that I own, go beyond expectations on all accounts.
I can think of no downside to this cab or dealing with the company.

To compare this cab to other manufacturers is best done with reference to the price point. I won't say this Avatar cabinet is a stunning example of exotic covering, or presentation. It's a working piece of equipment that makes no pretense at being anything other than a solid 410 cabinet, that will translate the signal from your guitar, to your amp to the speakers without fanfare. Who really needs anything more?

Having said that however, my 66 Bandmaster Head looks elegant sitting atop the cabinet. It just happens to be the exact size of the Bandmaster head - a perfect fit for any Bassman, Bandmaster, Tremolux, Showman head of that Black or Silver face era.

If you need casters for the cabinet, Avatar offers that option. If Avatar sold covers for the cabinets, that would be the total package.

Great product, at fair price, with excellent service and reliability - the personification of value.

Sonic Furniture of the highest order.
