I'm playing through a '62 reissue Strat through the following signal chain Vox V847 Wah-> Analog Man Mini Bi-Comp-> Sovtek Big Muff-> ProCo Rat-> Visual Sound Jekyll and Hyde-> Voodoo Lab Microvibe-> Electro Harmonix Electro Mistress-> TC Electronic Nova Delay-> Orange Tiny Terror-> Avatar G112 Vintage Cab w/ 15ohm Celestion Gold. Only a small bit of hum, but that should be expected with single coils and a tube amp.
I liked my setup quite a bit before when I was playing through a closed back Avatar G112 with a Celestion Vintage 30, but after switching to the open back Vintage style cab with the Celstion Gold, it's amazing. First off, there is a noticeable volume increase thanks to the effeciency of the Gold, and the open back combined with the Gold gave the set up a lot more of the trebly high end chime that you would expect from a Vox. The cleans are great, very Beatle-esque while the overdrive and distortion were creamy and just flat out incredible. I would say this cab would be great for everything from clean to just short of death metal, but I am a huge David Gilmour fan and feel that all the higher gain and fuzz Floyd stuff sounds spot on through the Gold.

I've only had this cab for a few days, but I have no reason to expect any issues from it in the future. As I mentioned before, I had an Avatar G112 cab before buying this G112 Vintage. I wouldn't have bought another product from Avatar if I wasn't impressed by the first one. I bought this cab as it is simply better suited to sounds and styles that I like to play. I do not play in a band so it won't be traveling too much, but I have confidence that if I ever end up playing somewhere, the cab would be more than up to it. Looks solid all around.

I've e-mailed Avatar with a few questions and always gotten an answer within 24 hours. They are easy to deal with and have shipped both of my cabs very quickly and through DHL at very reasonable rates.

This cab looks really cool, and sounds awesome. It's got Vintage in the name because it looks like it would fit in well alongside some classic amps. If this cab were lost or stolen, I'd no doubt buy another. There isn't anything I hate about it, the price is what it is because of the quality of the build and the sound. Buy a cab from Vox with Blues or Golds in it and you are going to pay hundreds more than a cab from Avatar. If you are looking to upgrade your setup and aren't up weeknights watching Metal Mania, this cab and the Gold would sound great. Seems perfectly suited for some country, classic rock, and blues. I've played Beatles, U2, Zeppelin, Floyd, Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, and other bands through my set up and all the sounds/styles worked great.
