2x12 standard cabinet. 8 ohm. eminence gb12 & v12. this cabinet was ready to go. oval back. as it breaks in, it will sound even better. for the price, it rates right with any big name company (about $300.00 less than those companies). i'll give it a 10 because it performs as it should.

it is pretty much there as it breaks in. it'll be even better in time. i go for santana tones, trower-hendrix, skynyrd-allmans-bonamassa. these are good speakers. using it with a divided by 13 ftr37. i use a tim, the amp itself on the click channel, or lovepedal kanji 9 for drive, & a music electronix ust drive for a baby fuzz tone. i have a fuchs 2x12 with the fats1 12's. it's 4 ohm at 600 watts & is very clean. the avatar breaks up nice at 100 watts. my wilson wah sounds better with the avatar. the fuchs is a quality cabinet--this isn't about comparison. it does what it's supposed to do. i just have more versatility now. sweet sounds

looks solid. put a marshall label on it & you'd say fantastic sound--like a marshall should sound. but it's an avatar--$300.00 less--& the tone is awesome. no corners cut in building. not cheap particle board. the wood looks good. looks like top notch work & quality. don't be scared to try one--it delivers. avatar has plenty of speaker options & cabinet styles. they are a candy store for musicians. i know the big name companies tune their cabinets for their amps, but that is subjective. my avatar works well with both amps. i just may put a gb12 & v12 in my fuchs & make it 8 ohms too--we'll see. with my divided by 13, i could run 4 12's. but a 2x12 is a big sound.

i've played for 27 years. i use pauls, prs', & fender teles. we record & do live work for decent sized crowds & venues--we're not a bar band. we do originals more than covers--the covers are just for fun. i use my fuchs 2x12 with an ods 100. my divided by 13 sounds great with the fuchs 2x12, but was really made to go with a cabinet that breaks up quick. i like it. my effects work well with the eminence speakers. this cabinet is ready for big time work. eminence made the fats1 speakers for the fuchs. i've had success with the eminence line. this is a damn good cabinet. not a cheap lesser grade cabinet. you should be seeing more avatars on stages in the near future.

This is an Avatar G212H cabinet traditional done with black tolex and silver grill cloth, loaded with two Celestion G12H30 speakers to go with my new Fender Bandmaster Vintage Modified Head. The cabinet is wired for 8 ohms and has two jacks in the event that you want to daisy chain the cab with another. Build quality is EXCELLENT, and how Avatar can do it at these prices is amazing. The build quality in comparison to most stock cabinets is superior.

I'm using a Fender Bandmaster VM head with this cab, and my guitars are American Standard strats and a '72 Tele Thinline Reissue. The g12H30 speakers work very well for classic rock and blues, and tame the brightness from the Bandmaster head very well, without getting overly muddy or bassy. The mids now stand out better, and when using the overdrive channel, the g12H30's provide a good fuzz tone. Cleans shine through these speakers, and the cab in not overly boomy.

This cabinet is built like a tank! Much better than the Fender Bandmaster VM cab or the current USA Crate V212T that I own. I can't see this cab crapping out on me unless I literally took a sledgehammer to it. One of the previous reviews where the guy totally trashed this cab amazes me...what cab was this guy talking about???

Dave at Avatar speakers is amazing. I must have spent a good 15-20 minutes talking to him over the phone when ordering to discuss different speaker options, and ALL of my questions were answered. Dave took the time to go over all the different speaker options in great detail. Excellent customer service.

These cabs are SOLID and well built. I've been playing guitar for 40 years now, and have owned ALOT of amps and cabs, and by far, this is the best cab I've owned. I would recommend Avatar not only for the quality of their product, but also in terms of their customer support.
I compared this to other cabs from Mojotone and Sourmash, and Avatar wins hands down in terms of price and customer support.

I use it with a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifer 100 watt head. If you play strictly music like blues and rock this cab is perfect. It's priced very nicely and built well.
However I tend to play heavier stuff like hard rock and metal, usually tuned down to D standard.
When palm muting on the lower strings it seems to be a bit woofy. Compared to my Mesa 4x12 loaded with Black Shadows, which weighs over 90 pounds, this cab sounds a bit weak. It can be a bit loose sounding on the low end. I know rectifiers are inherently a loosely voiced amp, but on a Mesa 4x12 it definetly retains more definition and has more cut to it.
The cab is pretty new though, so it may be partially due to the fact that the speakers may not be broken in yet.
If I tap on my other cabs they make a nice, solid knock... If I tap on this one it sounds kinda like the wood isn't dense enough.
Oh well, I bought it used for the same price that two brand spanking new V30s would have cost me.

I would bring a back up, just because I have spare gear lying around... Otherwise I've heard Avatar makes some all around solid gear.

I really only plan on using it at home for practicing and recording purposes.
If the woofy low end gets too annoying I may just reinforce it with a few sheets of plywood tacked on to the inside panels.

This is the nicest cabinet I've ever played through, bar none. I've been playing guitar for 20 years now & have played through many vintage/vintage style cabinets (Fender/Vox) to more modern heavy Marshall cabs & this thing blows them away. It all comes down to the solid construction of the cab & the celestion G12's. This cab packs a pucnh with lots of nice focused bass & clarity throughout the frequency range. Currently I'm playing an Orange Tiny Terror class A tube head with a Gibson SG/Hamer double-cutaway LP/Fender Stratocaster. Every guitar maintains it's unique sound. You can play any style of music through this cab & pedals sound fantastic through it as well.

Bought in Summer 2007, features include one jack to plug your power amp into and another if you feel like daisy chaining another amp. One Vintage 30, one G12H30. The only thing I wish this cab had were hard plastic corners, metal ones will rust eventually. Red tolex with a black speaker cover make this sexy as all hell.

Hot damn, I've been using a Marshall AVT-20 for almost four years now (replaced the stock tube with an EHX 12AX7 and took off the back panel to make it open), and plugging that into this 2x12 was indescribably amazing. SO much more tone, projection and volume -- seriously, it's like night and day. Every time I unplug to keep the bass down, the Marshall just sounds tinny and uninspiring. I have yet to take it to a gig, but I'm sure it'll cut through the mix with no issues.

If it was stolen, I'd cry for a while and pony up the cash for another. Diminishing returns applies in a large way when you consider products from other companies that are much more expensive than this one (Bogner, Orange, etc), sure, they may sound a bit better, but I can't justify the extra $300+ (that's going into an Orange Tiny Terror :D)

You plug an amp head into it and it makes sound....it's a speaker cabinet for crying out loud. No seriously, G212H cab in orange tolex loaded with 2 Celestion Vintage 30's. Quality contruction and sound. Much easier to lug around than a 4x12.

Sounds great. Bought this for the Splawn Competition head I ordered from a genious named Scott Splawn. Sounds awesome both clean and overdriven. Currently have a Marshall 1965a 4x10 and have had a couple of Marshall 4x12's too. I love the Greenbacks and Vintage 30's, I would never buy any speaker with a wattage of over 35 watts... I never understood these guys who buy 300 watt cabs for 50 or 100 watt heads.

Got mine on Ebay for only $194 plus $34 shipping. The regular street price is over $300, Probably so cheap because it is orange with a wheat grill. Killer deal, so who cares about color. Talked to Dave (Avatar) on the phone for about 20 minutes. Nice guy and knows his sh*t about guitars, amps and speakers. Guy is a legend in the SF Bay area. His ebay rating is 100% with over 3800 positives. Their service and product are tops.

This is a simple 2x12 guitar speaker cabinet (semi-open back) loaded with one Celestion Vintage 30 driver and one Celestion G12H30 70th Anniversary driver. I got the black tolex with wheat grill version. Long story short, this thing absolutely ROCKS!

I mainly use an old (1983) Mesa/Boogie Mark II 50 watt head, a MIM Fender Tele with Fralin pickups, and a Jay Turser ES-335 copy also with Fralin pickups. I play mostly classic and roots rock. This cab PERFECTLY suits my needs. It's got a great open and full tone to it with both the Tele and the 335. The Celestions break up at just the right volume, without being overly bright. I figured that when I first recieved the cab, I would need to break the speakers in for awhile, but that was definitely not the case. It sounded amazing right out of the box.

The construction is top notch. I couldn't find anything on this cab that might make it less sturdy or easy to break. It's not too heavy, but it seems as though it's built like a tank. The tolex job is awesome and the grill looks killer as well.

Dave at Avatar is one hellova guy. They shipped the cab the same day I ordered it and dealt with me on the phone when I was trying to make sure I sent the order to the right email address. The warranty on the cab is 1 year and they also offer a 14-day return policy. I seriously doubt I'll ever need to cash in the warranty, but if that does happen, I'm sure the guys at Avatar would bend over backwards for me as they've done for many other customers.

I've been playing for over 20 years in dive bars and large venues alike. I've gigged through many a speaker cab and amp (Mesa, Bogner, Matchless, Marshall, Vox, etc) and I definitely think the Avatar holds its own with the big boys - especially for the price!! If this cab was stolen, I'd find the guy who stole it and beat him like a red-headed stepchild...then I'd go buy two more.

This cab is constructed of 13 ply baltic birch and are made with DOVETAIL corner joints.
This is loaded with hellatone 60L speakers which are special Celestion Vin30's with extended low end and a different voice coil. These are different than the Hellatone 60's which are "broken in" Celestion V30's. I chose the closwd back version for more tight low end and punch.
The cab is rated at 8 ohms.
The cab has black tolex and a vintage wheat grill.
