Mine is the closed-back model with 2 Celestion Vintage 30s. It's got a wheat grille and is covered with black tolex. Let me say that I've gotten quite a few complements on how my setup looks (pretty funny that they didn't mention the sound huh?). The funny part is that I called them and asked if they had any scratched up models and they sold me this one for 260+shipping(30 bucks off). I got it in the mail and it took me half an hour to find the tiny little scratch. This is a great looking cabinet with your basic features:

2 16 ohm speakers wired to 8 ohms impedance
2 input jacks

Sound Quality : 9
I'm using a Gibson the Paul through some effects and a Red Bear MK60 (great sounding budget amp). I decided to get rid of my 4x12 because it was too bulky and had way more power handling than I needed.

This cab sounds great. It handles the whole spectrum very well and has a great midrange. It's perfect for the tone I'm going for... gritty mild kind of overdrive with punchy midrange.

Reliability : 10
My band has gigged a lot and this thing has already taken plenty of abuse... including scratches, dings, and a some moisture. It feels very sturdy and definately weighs more than half of my old 4x12. The tolex seems really well put on.

Never had to deal with them besides purchasing and they were very friendly. They went and looked to see if they had a scratch and dent model for me and gave me a nice discount.

When it comes to gear, I am always looking for the best value. I'm a broke college student and can't afford all the best name brands for new prices. I paid $400 for Gibson the Paul brand new, $80 for my Red Bear of a friend, and $300 for this cab shipped. This is the best value for a speaker cab hands down and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't give a shit about brand names.

Dude, it's a cab. It's got metal side handles, solid baltic-birch construction, black tolex, wheat cab, dual inputs for daisy-chaining, a Celestion Vintage 30 and 70th Anniversary speaker. I'm running it with a 30 watt single ended class-A THD BiValve head. I did hook it up to a vintage '64 Fender Princeton and it sounded AMAZING!!! The two different speakers cover the whole tonal spectrum.

Sound Quality : 10
I mostly use my BiValve and play single-coil guitars (Strats and teles). It sounds amazing. I've had my amp cranked wide open and the speakers don't fart-out a bit. I play original Christian rock along the lines of Something Like Silas, Copeland, Number One Gun, and Further Seems Forever. It only sounds sweeter the louder you go.

Reliability : 10
It's built like a tank, yet surprisingly light. Very solid construction. Metal corners, good grill-cloth, nice tolex. My only gripe is that the tolex around the open-back started to peel up when the back of the cab was exposed to the sun for a while (my own fault). However, it hasn't peeled any more since and it is still awesome. High quality speakers and wires, good input jacks...

This is where Avatar really and truly shines. They put together amazing cabinets and would be awesome even with crappy support. But Dave is THE MAN!!! He answered all my questions prior to purchasing my cab and my bi-valve, and he also was ready to ship me a brand new speaker for my bass players cab that was having issues. On 1-10, I give them a definite 12!

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 10 years and I know what's good and what sucks. Avatar cabs are incredible. I'm not only pleased by the sound of mine, I'm very proud of it. It's definite boutique quality at about 1/4 of the price. I recommended Avatar to our bass player, who purchased a cab that will blow away ANY Ampeg. I plan to buy some more cabs from Avatar in the future. No complaints from me!

2x12 cabinet

Considered to be an open back cabinet, but it's not completely open. The opening is about 1/3rd of the overall size.

This is the Avatar G212H Special. It comes loaded with the Vintage 30, and the 70th Anniversary G12H30 combo.

It also has an expansion hook up for an additional cabinet.

Sound Quality : 10
I had read that the V30/G1230 combo covered a wide range of tone. Well, it's true! I thought my Dr Z Maz 18 Jr sounded great before...... Now it's mind blowing! I had my bass maxed with a 1x12 Vintage 30. Now I keeped it dialed back to around 2 or 3.

Reliability : 10
Very well built! As solid as I could hope for.

I had a few questions before I placed my order. Dave at Avatar answered them all. Pmomptly, and with fully detailed answers. Not the little short notes I was getting from others.

Prompt shipping, no screw ups, and it arrived one day earlier than expected.

I have been on quest for tone lately. That lead to the purchase of the Dr Z head. I knew I wanted a 2x12 cabinet, but I didn't want to spend more than I needed to. The Avatar G212H Special brought out the THUNDER CHUNKING tones that I knew the Z Maz was capable of.

If I was forced to come up with one complaint........

I think that Avatar emblemb should be bigger.
