The black carpet/metal grill cab. Celestion g12h80's on top and emenince V12's on bottom. Oh yea, for features: it can grow wings and fly to your gigs.

Sound Quality : 9
First, the 2 dudes under me are DUMB AS HELL! #1, DONT EVER USE A DISTORTION PEDAL WITH A 5150! I run mine out of a 5150, and would never do somthing like that, the gain and sound is so versatile. You've only been playing for 4 years, GET MORE EXPERIANCE AND KNOWLEDGE! and for the next dude, you got you probably didn't break the input, quit bullshittin to sound cool.Oh yea, Lead 80's DEFENITELY DO NOT sound like black shadows. black shadows suck! I've had my cab for 3 years. NEVER EVER a single problem. Cab still sounds amazing for what its worth. Of course its no mesa or 1960. But if you want one of those... GO BUY ONE. Not an Avatar. An Avatar is for someone who knows about speakers and knows what their getting.

Reliability : 10
I've dropped it off 4 foot stages, stairs, and out of the van! Still NEVER EVER a problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've never called back, never had to!

Overall Rating : 10
If you do enough research and take care of it. You will never have a problem. It's really worth the money.

Stereo cab, loud, tough, clean, you know the features. Best features a cab can have, eh? Vintage 30's in mine.

Sound Quality : 3
Honestly, this thing sounded terrible. I don't know what the hype is about, maybe i got a bad one. I opened it up, and it looked okay. Everything was working okay, but it was just muddy as hell, just like the guy below me said. I've found no matter how good reviews are, you cannot rely on them. You must listen first; I didn't and i ended up selling it.

Reliability : 10
Perfect, worked great.

Customer Support : 8
He's a great guy and all, but I couldn't really do anything about it. He offered a speaker change since i was looking for a smoother bass, but I still had to pay for it. I turned that offer down, since i wouldn't be able to just try it.

Overall Rating : 5
I've been playing about 4 years, but very talented for my age. My rig is: Agile LP2800 With EMG ZW's > Boss SD-1 > 5150 > Mesa 2x12. I was so glad I could sell it to get this-sounds amazing. If it was stolen, I would be pissed, because I wouldn't be able to sell it. If I lost it, I would have to be pretty fucking stupid.
All I can say is test things out before you try them, no matter what.

This cabinet had 4 lead 80's as I was advised by the person on the phone would sound similar to my Mesa 2x12's with Black Shadow speakers.

The cabinet was much smaller than I thought it would be.

Sound Quality : 4
The cabinet sounded muddy as hell. I tried to add presence but it sounded terrible which is why I returned it. It sounded about 50 times worse than my other guitarist's B52 cabinet.

Reliability : 5
The cabinet itself looked rock solid but the input on the back broke within a few days of having it. It had very cheap inputs.

Customer Support : 5
They were very nice on the phone but obviously didn't get me the sound I was looking for so I returned the item. They made me paying for shipping to my house and when I shipped it back so I was a bit annoyed at that.

Overall Rating : 5
If you would like a cheap cabinet that is probably decent at best, go with a b52 for $300. I would definitely not get an avatar. I ended up buying a Mesa Boogie Recto Cab and it sounds 1000x better and is built like a tank. I was more than disappointed with this cabinet after reading all these reviews on it.

2004 model slant g4x12 avatar cab! vintage 30 speakers 4ohm stereo cab
this this is the ultimate death metal cab, the vintage 30 speaker have great low end, and tons of chunk for my palm muted riffs, they have beautiful highs for my solos. im using it with a marshall mg100hdfx head thats 100w through the clean channel with a boss mt-2 metal zone pedal and its just freakin sick man. i suggest this cab with vintage 30s to any one who plays death or any other extreme genre of music.the only flaw in my opinion is the surface area on the top of the cab, its not very big. your going to need casters for this sucker, its 78 pounds.

Sound Quality : 10
im playing with a esp ex50 with lh100 pickups
the whole rig just suits my metal style perfectly theres nothing i would change about it.

Reliability : 9
this is a freakin tank man you aint breakin it, drop it from a plane at 30,000 feet. its just awesome just very heavy but thats a good thing get the casters from avatarspeakers.com there only 9bucks.

Customer Support : No Opinion
dave avatar is god, nuff said. he will go to the end of the earth to help you.

Overall Rating : 10
iv been playing 2.5 years how can you lose it, its too heavy. i would buy another one for sure.i love the metal grill on it. its great and it looks brutal as all hell.

It's a cab. Mine is 8 Ohm Mono. What features do you want from a cab.

Sound Quality : 9
Beautiful mid-to-lows. I wouldn't reccomend it for someone who wants a lead cab. I use this with my Ibanez RG320 which has a Dimarzio Super Distortion with a Dimarzio Fred (both humbuckers) and my Pignose G60VR Combo which has an eminence legend M12 in it. The mid to high range of the M12 balances perfectly with this cab. The clean channel is beautiful all the way up to the 120 watt peak that my amp puts out. I also noticed that even the distortion channel was clearer during solos. I would absolutely reccomend this for all types of music. I play anything from hard rock/metal to blues and classic rock. It is obvious that this cab is well built. There is absolutely no extra sounds coming out of the cab...just pure tone.

Reliability : 10
I would most definitely use this cab in any gig. It is built like a rock, and i have never heard a better sounding cab.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Bought it through ebay.

Overall Rating : 10
I definitely give this Cab a 10 overall. I have been playing for about 3 years now and i would replace it in an instant. I don't think i would be able to get the awesome price that i got on it this time though.

This relatively new cabinet, a 412SL, was purchased primarily to be an extension cab (replacement in a sense since it requires that the internal speaker be disconnected) for a peavey Calssic 30.

While the Calssic 30 is not the very best amp ever made, with decent tubes (mine are from eurotube.com) it sounds pretty dang good for a cheap amp.

The 4x12 cab was intended to be a componant upgrade.

Sound Quality : 10
My normal set up is a Fender Strat with Texas Specials and (now) a compressor in line, and I tend to play a clean sound 90% of the time, at moderate volumes. With the Emminence speakers - and I forget which ones exactly it has, but the top two are one type and the bottom two another - it really does sound full and richer. One surprise was that it makes the Peavey LOUDER, which I really don't need, and don't understand why. But hey, you should know... I am 100% satisfied with the sound.

Reliability : No Opinion
Hey, how should I know about its life span.

Customer Support : 10
First, Avatar was very helpful about emailing me with answers to stupid questions, which are my specialty.

Third, I never did totally grasp the concept of how to calculate ohms.

I would have to say, based on my communication, they did a great job in this department.

I do feel slightly guilty because I stumbled over an ebay auction for the speaker and got a great price on it from that source instead of buying directly from them. Sorry Avatar guys! But it is a great product. And I guess a strongsecondary market isn't the worst thing for business.

Overall Rating : 10
One of the main reasons I wanted an extension cab rather than replace the speaker in the Peavey, is to allow amp experimentation, and this cab is perfect for that purpose.

I am looking forward to getting some low power amps through the speakers, and am considering the zvex.com half watt, and/or the ax84.com P1 project amp. (Other suggestions welcome. I'd love the JTM-45 sound at a much lower volume.)

I cannot imagine how anyone could be disappointed by this product, and I will look to Avatar first for any new cabs I need. You should look on ebay, cause sometimes the company sells there also, and the deals are pretty good.

Just bought it last week. I got it loaded with 4 Celestion Vintage 30s and never want to hear a negative comment about these speakers again! The ultimate death metal cabinet!!! How meany features can you actually ask for in a cabinet?

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I play through an ESP MF-207 with a true EMG-707 upgrade. My head is a Line6 Spider II HD. This head combined with this cabinet is the most brutal thing I have ever heard! I play death metal (www.omichron.net) and no matter how fast I play, or how much gain and lows I dish out to this thing it never gets muddy. I have some very pissed off triple rectifier owning friends that wish they would've saved a couple grand and went with my setup because it sounds better!

Reliability : 10
I'll go ahead and give it 10 because of what I've heard. I haven't gigged with it yet. But this saturday it will prove itself!

Customer Support : 10
Daev is the man! He know exactly what each of his products is good for and he will spend as much time on the phone with you as you need to get the right setup for what you're looking for.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 13 years. I own 3 crate amps (hey, gotta start somewhere) a line6 POD (great for recording) but my Spider II and my Avatar cab take the cake. If somebod stole it I would kill them and take their wallet so I could buy a new one. I will depend of Avatar for every cabinet and speaker I ever need in the future. The only thing I compared it to is the original Spider II cabinet.. Don't make this mistake! This one is $60 more and worth thousands more (in my opinion) as far as quality and versatility. It also sounds good next to a Mesa for less than 1/2 the price.

My G412 was made in January of 2004, its a 16olm. I play music for my church and I have a small band that I use it for. The only thing is that the box for the speakers isn't very good, the day after I got it the rubber that it sits on fell off, but nothing big.

Sound Quality : 9
I play it though a Marshall 100 cd and a Washburn with 2 humbucker pickups. Right now I only use it for my band which is rock. It gets loud for the amout of money i paid for it, distorted or clean. This amp is good for the music I play. It sounds good loud however I wish it had more low end.

Reliability : 8
Very reliable

Dave was very nice and knew alot and what I sould get, I thank him for that. However, they only send the product though fed-ex and fed-ex didn't get it to my house for 3 1/2 weeks. I wish they would use UPS.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for about 5 years all sorts of music and this is definately better than the marshall MG's and as good as the JCM 2000 cabs. I had a line 6 412 cab and this was definately better. If it were stolen i would probably get better speakers than the ones I got. I chose this product over the marshalls for its price and sound.

My Avatar 4x12 was made in February 2004. I had Dave put 2 Eminence V12s and 2 Celestion Seventy 80s in it, and it sounds great. It's perfect for my style of music (rock/punkrock/emo/indiecore) but it seems to be very well suited for many styles of play. My band hosted a jam night at a local bar and one of the bands played some fairly heavy metal stuff out of it and it sounded just fine for drop d power chords.

Don't really know how feature-intensive a cab could possibly be, but this really isn't lacking anything (except casters! i forgot to order them when i ordered this cab. I wish dave would offer them over the phone!). I had mine wired 8 ohms mono.

Sound Quality : 10
I use mine with a Gibson SG special with stock pickups, and again, it sound perfect. I seem to be able to get any range of sounds out of it from nice and warm to sharp and biting. I use a JCM-900 50 watt head with it and they complement each other nicely. With the high efficiency speakers (I think each of them are above 99dB SPL) this thing can get VERY LOUD even on the low power 25 watt setting on the amp.

Reliability : 10
Seems to be built very well, the bassist in my band is a bigger guy and he's sat on it with absolutely no problems. It's not as heavy as I was expecting; on the website, Dave advertises it as "75-85lbs depending on speaker load" but I'd be thoroughly surprised if it was more than 60lbs. This really isn't a bad thing at all, especially since I haven't had time to put casters on it yet.

Customer Support : 10
Avatar might be the best company I've ever done business with. I placed my order over the phone (as I'm wary of transmitting my credit card number over email) and to my surprise I spoke with the owner himself, Dave! He was a great guy and we talked for several minutes about what speakers would benefit me the most, and we ended up going with the eminence/celestion combination. The warranty is (i believe) one year, but I can't imagine anything could go wrong with this thing in 10 years. Shipping is super fast too, only took about 3 business days.

Overall Rating : 10
This is my first 4x12 speaker cab, but I may never need another one (unless I want a second for a full stack -- we'll see), but if i do you can bet your bottom dollar I'll go to Avatar. I was a little concerned that because this cab is smaller than standard size (Dave is limited as to how big he can build them so that shipping doesn't get outrageous) my amp might hang over the edges alot, but it's really barely noticable.

If it were lost or stolen I'd order another one and never play that venue again! I love the fact that it sounds phenomenal and that it's very light for a 4x12. I wish Dave would offer the casters when you order but if you forget like I did, you can pick some up at Home Depot for like $10 and install them yourself.

Didn't really compare it to any other products, a friend of mine has the same amp and plays through a JCM-900 1960a cab and I honestly can't really tell a difference. It sounds loads better than my other buddy's B-52 4x12 Cab.

Overall this cabinet and Avatar Speakers itself is a tremendous value. You really cannot beat it for the price (if at all!). Very highly recommended.

This is a new 4x12 cabinet loaded with my choice of speakers, finished in black utility carpet and metal grille. The only think it's missing is casters. (which I added myself from Home Depot)

My cabinet (Dave will build anything you want) is wired in Stereo at 16 ohms per side with Eminence V12's on bottom, and Celestion 70/80s on top.

Sound Quality : 10
Dave's suugestion for speakers was terrific. I play mostly hard rock, part-time these days, and didn't want to spend much on a cabinet.

Dave applied no pressure to "upsell" me to the more expensive options.

The V12's have a great low end, and are really "tight". Better lows than the Celestions, but the Celestions have a tremendous highs... SO, together they sound super. And Dave kept it at the low, low price of only $249. The drivers alone would cost me this much...

Stereo wiring gives a nice effect when I am near the cabinet...

Reliability : 10
I have never seen plywood that breaks drill bits, when predrilling for casters....
The inside of the cabinet is clean, wiring is clean, the metal grill is great, (and looks neat too...)

Jacks and jack plate are steel, not plastic, and labeled for your individual configuration.

The carpet covering is extremely durable and very well applied. Just vacuum and go. :-)

Customer Support : 10
I wish I could give a 20 or 30 here. 10 is not enough. Dave is a great guy who takes care of business.

The packing was impeccable.

He responds to emailed questions immediately, and will ship same day, Fedex, for dirt cheap. He sent me some cabinet feet for no charge, and sent them Fedex Saturday delivery, packed as if they were Faberge Eggs... Amazing... No charge...

Overall Rating : 10
Amazing, even at twice the price... BUY THESE CABINETS!!! Eventually Dave will realize what he's doing, and the prices will go up!! Even then, they will be THE BEST SPEAKER BUY AVAILABLE !!!
