First, the 2 dudes under me are DUMB AS HELL! #1, DONT EVER USE A DISTORTION PEDAL WITH A 5150! I run mine out of a 5150, and would never do somthing like that, the gain and sound is so versatile. You've only been playing for 4 years, GET MORE EXPERIANCE AND KNOWLEDGE! and for the next dude, you got you probably didn't break the input, quit bullshittin to sound cool.Oh yea, Lead 80's DEFENITELY DO NOT sound like black shadows. black shadows suck! I've had my cab for 3 years. NEVER EVER a single problem. Cab still sounds amazing for what its worth. Of course its no mesa or 1960. But if you want one of those... GO BUY ONE. Not an Avatar. An Avatar is for someone who knows about speakers and knows what their getting.

Honestly, this thing sounded terrible. I don't know what the hype is about, maybe i got a bad one. I opened it up, and it looked okay. Everything was working okay, but it was just muddy as hell, just like the guy below me said. I've found no matter how good reviews are, you cannot rely on them. You must listen first; I didn't and i ended up selling it.

He's a great guy and all, but I couldn't really do anything about it. He offered a speaker change since i was looking for a smoother bass, but I still had to pay for it. I turned that offer down, since i wouldn't be able to just try it.

I've been playing about 4 years, but very talented for my age. My rig is: Agile LP2800 With EMG ZW's > Boss SD-1 > 5150 > Mesa 2x12. I was so glad I could sell it to get this-sounds amazing. If it was stolen, I would be pissed, because I wouldn't be able to sell it. If I lost it, I would have to be pretty fucking stupid.
All I can say is test things out before you try them, no matter what.

This cabinet had 4 lead 80's as I was advised by the person on the phone would sound similar to my Mesa 2x12's with Black Shadow speakers.
The cabinet was much smaller than I thought it would be.

The cabinet sounded muddy as hell. I tried to add presence but it sounded terrible which is why I returned it. It sounded about 50 times worse than my other guitarist's B52 cabinet.

The cabinet itself looked rock solid but the input on the back broke within a few days of having it. It had very cheap inputs.

They were very nice on the phone but obviously didn't get me the sound I was looking for so I returned the item. They made me paying for shipping to my house and when I shipped it back so I was a bit annoyed at that.

If you would like a cheap cabinet that is probably decent at best, go with a b52 for $300. I would definitely not get an avatar. I ended up buying a Mesa Boogie Recto Cab and it sounds 1000x better and is built like a tank. I was more than disappointed with this cabinet after reading all these reviews on it.

2004 model slant g4x12 avatar cab! vintage 30 speakers 4ohm stereo cab
this this is the ultimate death metal cab, the vintage 30 speaker have great low end, and tons of chunk for my palm muted riffs, they have beautiful highs for my solos. im using it with a marshall mg100hdfx head thats 100w through the clean channel with a boss mt-2 metal zone pedal and its just freakin sick man. i suggest this cab with vintage 30s to any one who plays death or any other extreme genre of music.the only flaw in my opinion is the surface area on the top of the cab, its not very big. your going to need casters for this sucker, its 78 pounds.

Beautiful mid-to-lows. I wouldn't reccomend it for someone who wants a lead cab. I use this with my Ibanez RG320 which has a Dimarzio Super Distortion with a Dimarzio Fred (both humbuckers) and my Pignose G60VR Combo which has an eminence legend M12 in it. The mid to high range of the M12 balances perfectly with this cab. The clean channel is beautiful all the way up to the 120 watt peak that my amp puts out. I also noticed that even the distortion channel was clearer during solos. I would absolutely reccomend this for all types of music. I play anything from hard rock/metal to blues and classic rock. It is obvious that this cab is well built. There is absolutely no extra sounds coming out of the cab...just pure tone.

This relatively new cabinet, a 412SL, was purchased primarily to be an extension cab (replacement in a sense since it requires that the internal speaker be disconnected) for a peavey Calssic 30.
While the Calssic 30 is not the very best amp ever made, with decent tubes (mine are from eurotube.com) it sounds pretty dang good for a cheap amp.
The 4x12 cab was intended to be a componant upgrade.

My normal set up is a Fender Strat with Texas Specials and (now) a compressor in line, and I tend to play a clean sound 90% of the time, at moderate volumes. With the Emminence speakers - and I forget which ones exactly it has, but the top two are one type and the bottom two another - it really does sound full and richer. One surprise was that it makes the Peavey LOUDER, which I really don't need, and don't understand why. But hey, you should know... I am 100% satisfied with the sound.

First, Avatar was very helpful about emailing me with answers to stupid questions, which are my specialty.
Third, I never did totally grasp the concept of how to calculate ohms.
I would have to say, based on my communication, they did a great job in this department.
I do feel slightly guilty because I stumbled over an ebay auction for the speaker and got a great price on it from that source instead of buying directly from them. Sorry Avatar guys! But it is a great product. And I guess a strongsecondary market isn't the worst thing for business.
Overall Rating

One of the main reasons I wanted an extension cab rather than replace the speaker in the Peavey, is to allow amp experimentation, and this cab is perfect for that purpose.
I am looking forward to getting some low power amps through the speakers, and am considering the zvex.com half watt, and/or the ax84.com P1 project amp. (Other suggestions welcome. I'd love the JTM-45 sound at a much lower volume.)
I cannot imagine how anyone could be disappointed by this product, and I will look to Avatar first for any new cabs I need. You should look on ebay, cause sometimes the company sells there also, and the deals are pretty good.

I play through an ESP MF-207 with a true EMG-707 upgrade. My head is a Line6 Spider II HD. This head combined with this cabinet is the most brutal thing I have ever heard! I play death metal (www.omichron.net) and no matter how fast I play, or how much gain and lows I dish out to this thing it never gets muddy. I have some very pissed off triple rectifier owning friends that wish they would've saved a couple grand and went with my setup because it sounds better!

I've been playing for 13 years. I own 3 crate amps (hey, gotta start somewhere) a line6 POD (great for recording) but my Spider II and my Avatar cab take the cake. If somebod stole it I would kill them and take their wallet so I could buy a new one. I will depend of Avatar for every cabinet and speaker I ever need in the future. The only thing I compared it to is the original Spider II cabinet.. Don't make this mistake! This one is $60 more and worth thousands more (in my opinion) as far as quality and versatility. It also sounds good next to a Mesa for less than 1/2 the price.

My G412 was made in January of 2004, its a 16olm. I play music for my church and I have a small band that I use it for. The only thing is that the box for the speakers isn't very good, the day after I got it the rubber that it sits on fell off, but nothing big.

I play it though a Marshall 100 cd and a Washburn with 2 humbucker pickups. Right now I only use it for my band which is rock. It gets loud for the amout of money i paid for it, distorted or clean. This amp is good for the music I play. It sounds good loud however I wish it had more low end.

I've been playing for about 5 years all sorts of music and this is definately better than the marshall MG's and as good as the JCM 2000 cabs. I had a line 6 412 cab and this was definately better. If it were stolen i would probably get better speakers than the ones I got. I chose this product over the marshalls for its price and sound.

My Avatar 4x12 was made in February 2004. I had Dave put 2 Eminence V12s and 2 Celestion Seventy 80s in it, and it sounds great. It's perfect for my style of music (rock/punkrock/emo/indiecore) but it seems to be very well suited for many styles of play. My band hosted a jam night at a local bar and one of the bands played some fairly heavy metal stuff out of it and it sounded just fine for drop d power chords.
Don't really know how feature-intensive a cab could possibly be, but this really isn't lacking anything (except casters! i forgot to order them when i ordered this cab. I wish dave would offer them over the phone!). I had mine wired 8 ohms mono.
Sound Quality
:

I use mine with a Gibson SG special with stock pickups, and again, it sound perfect. I seem to be able to get any range of sounds out of it from nice and warm to sharp and biting. I use a JCM-900 50 watt head with it and they complement each other nicely. With the high efficiency speakers (I think each of them are above 99dB SPL) this thing can get VERY LOUD even on the low power 25 watt setting on the amp.
Reliability
:

Seems to be built very well, the bassist in my band is a bigger guy and he's sat on it with absolutely no problems. It's not as heavy as I was expecting; on the website, Dave advertises it as "75-85lbs depending on speaker load" but I'd be thoroughly surprised if it was more than 60lbs. This really isn't a bad thing at all, especially since I haven't had time to put casters on it yet.

Avatar might be the best company I've ever done business with. I placed my order over the phone (as I'm wary of transmitting my credit card number over email) and to my surprise I spoke with the owner himself, Dave! He was a great guy and we talked for several minutes about what speakers would benefit me the most, and we ended up going with the eminence/celestion combination. The warranty is (i believe) one year, but I can't imagine anything could go wrong with this thing in 10 years. Shipping is super fast too, only took about 3 business days.

This is my first 4x12 speaker cab, but I may never need another one (unless I want a second for a full stack -- we'll see), but if i do you can bet your bottom dollar I'll go to Avatar. I was a little concerned that because this cab is smaller than standard size (Dave is limited as to how big he can build them so that shipping doesn't get outrageous) my amp might hang over the edges alot, but it's really barely noticable.
If it were lost or stolen I'd order another one and never play that venue again! I love the fact that it sounds phenomenal and that it's very light for a 4x12. I wish Dave would offer the casters when you order but if you forget like I did, you can pick some up at Home Depot for like $10 and install them yourself.
Didn't really compare it to any other products, a friend of mine has the same amp and plays through a JCM-900 1960a cab and I honestly can't really tell a difference. It sounds loads better than my other buddy's B-52 4x12 Cab.
Overall this cabinet and Avatar Speakers itself is a tremendous value. You really cannot beat it for the price (if at all!). Very highly recommended.

This is a new 4x12 cabinet loaded with my choice of speakers, finished in black utility carpet and metal grille. The only think it's missing is casters. (which I added myself from Home Depot)
My cabinet (Dave will build anything you want) is wired in Stereo at 16 ohms per side with Eminence V12's on bottom, and Celestion 70/80s on top.

Dave's suugestion for speakers was terrific. I play mostly hard rock, part-time these days, and didn't want to spend much on a cabinet.
Dave applied no pressure to "upsell" me to the more expensive options.
The V12's have a great low end, and are really "tight". Better lows than the Celestions, but the Celestions have a tremendous highs... SO, together they sound super. And Dave kept it at the low, low price of only $249. The drivers alone would cost me this much...
Stereo wiring gives a nice effect when I am near the cabinet...

I have never seen plywood that breaks drill bits, when predrilling for casters....
The inside of the cabinet is clean, wiring is clean, the metal grill is great, (and looks neat too...)
Jacks and jack plate are steel, not plastic, and labeled for your individual configuration.
The carpet covering is extremely durable and very well applied. Just vacuum and go. :-)

412 guitar slanted cab, celestion 70/80's, 8 ohm mono, black w/ metal grille. BEST CAB EVER!!! Fits my music amazingly, I play anything from pop/punk to metal to acousticy clean stuff and it does it all, and very well. You would think this was at least a $1,000. The whole cab is cheaper than the speakers alone from musicians friend. Enough power, makes my amp loud, rh200 randall (May I SAY, AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT THIS HAS ALL THE FEATURES OF THE $500 RANDALL CAB SAME SPEAKERS BUT IS 200 CHEAPER AND SOUNDS WAY WAY BETTER) House shakes at 2, never had this happen before.

I AM GETTING ANOTHER ONE, Cause I love it soo much. I love the sound and affordability. The black carpet and metal mesh face screen LOOKS AWESOME. ***I WISH IT HAD A LARGER TOP SHELF AREA....most heads are too large to fit on the top and not hang over... Also these cabs are slightly Smaller than the new straight cabs and DONT MATCH UP perfectly....maybe they should make an ADAPTER BOARD with the corner protectors on it to go between them...

This cab was made in 2003, and was bought Brand new From Avatar with my personal choices for speakers. This Cab is made with 3/4" void free plywood and is covers with Black Carpet. On all corners of the cab it has plastic protectors that seem very tough and there is a metal mesh cover over the speakers.
For Speakers i got 2 Eminence Legend V12 for the bottom and 2 Celestion V30 for the Top I also got to choose the Impedance I needed wich was 8 ohm mono. To carry this cab around there are side mounted handles that are flush into the cab, Casters are optional which i got from Dave and makes the cab a lot easier to move around

Well any new speaker system will sound stiff at first and need to break in but after a couple of hours of playing i could already hear the speakers getting smoother. My Amp is a Mesa Single Rectifier and my guitars are PRS McCarty and a Fender Fat strat Texas Special and Both Guitars feature Bill Lawrence pups.

I got mine with eminence v12's in them. I heard that the celestions were the shit, but i wanted the eminence, and it couldnt be better. I got mine in 4 ohm stereo. Built like a fuckin tank.

Like i said, i got the cab with eminence v12's. I use that with a Jackson Dxmg > crybaby > Ada mp-1 pre-amp > Marshall 8008 Valvestate power amp > Avatar 4x12 cab. I play heavy metal with it, and i have to say, the eminence really do have more of a bottom end with it. my tone improved soo much when i got it. Probably the best part, was the way my clean sounded through the cab. Using stereo chorus, it was soo nice.

Overall, this cab kicks major ass. Ive been playing for 3 years, and i used to have a small 2x12 crate combo, and let me tell you, the tone that i have right now, kicks any crates ass. If someone were to jack it ( and they could have fun moving it ) i would definatly chase that person down and beat his ass. for the price, nothing beats Avatar.

I bought mine this year (2002). You can get your cab "customized" the way you want it, but I got mine in a x-setup with two V-30's and G12H30's speakers. The V-30's have a better clean higher tone and the G12H30's have a bit better basser tone to them. I did it this way to have a little bit of both worlds. I got my cab setup in 8ohm mono wiring, cause it would work best for how I'm powering it. You got the choice of having it in one of the configurations: 4 ohm mono, 8 ohm mono, 16 ohm mono, 4 ohm stereo, 8 ohm stereo and 16 ohm stereo. And if you ever need to change the wiring for some reason they have the wiring diagrams on they're site. It's also a soild back with two input jacks. The cab is made out of pile wood with metal handles on the side and has a metal screen guard on the front and it's wrapped in carpit.
I'm going to rate it a 9 on features, cause you have to rewire it to change the wiring, but yet, it's easy to do and for the cost it's well worth it not having a switch that changes it to a 16 ohms Stereo.

Sounds great! For now, I have my older 2x12 120-watt Crate combo powering it. I unplugged the Crates speakers and just running the amp into the cab untell I'm able to afford a nice tube amp. I'm thinking of getting a Peavey 5150 II. Any ways, so far it's great! Very nice clean, clear, bassy, heavy tone(s). I haven't had one dispointment with the sound, it seems to do whatever you want. It sounds good quite or very, eat bleeding loud.
Far as styles I play; I play a bit of everything. From Creed, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Metallica, Tool, Deftones, Zao, Linkin' Park, Hoobastank...whatever...I play anything from finger picking classical to heavy streaming stuff, but mainly stuff my band and I have written.

Seems very well made. And heavy too! It's like 80lbs. Just like anything, if you take care of it then it will last you. If you throw it out of a moving van then that may hurt it a little...like rip the carpit...hehe

It comes with a one year warranty and 14 day return policy. If you don't like it for some odd reason, then you can send it back within the 14 days, but, of course you have to pay shipping costs. Dave seems like a awesome guy and hopefully I won't have to deal with him except of course buying more cabs from him for the rest of the band. Plus, he'll talk to you on suggestions on how you want your cab and answer any questions you have.

I've been playing for about 6 years. If it was stolen, then yes, I would order another one. I did compare this cab to others such as: Marshall, Johnson, Randall, Line 6. I gotta tell you, it's a very good cab for the money that gives you a very good sound that sounds as good, if not better then cabs that will cost you $300+ more. The only bad thing (besides only one wire configuration) I heard on the slant top the the top is a little too small for some heads, it's not like super small either thou...I guess I'll find that out when I get a head for it.
That's about it...if you're on a budget and looking for a good cab, then Avatar is a very good choice!

My cab has the Emninence speakers in it. The Legend V12's. 8 ohms mono. I wasn't a believer before but I am very impressed with the Eminence speakers and the bottom end they have. I originally ordered a G412 cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30's but the forces of nature delivered one with Eminence speakers. Dave, who answers the phone everytime I call sent me 4 Celestion Vintage 30's immediately. I put them in, plugged in, played, then took them right back out and asked Dave if I could just keep the Eminence speakers. The Vintage 30's to me are just too mid-top end sounding. Weak is how I would term it. There was no oomph. Dave agreed with my opinion and apologized for the original UPS delivery mistake. So I sent the V30's back. If you are looking for a very nice heavy and solid sound, go with the V12's. You will be very happy. The price is right too. I am not really into the bright sound of the Vintage 30's so those didn't work for me. I'd like to hear a combination of the two and I regret not having tried that since I did have the speakers all available. Don't forget to order the casters. Picture yourself gently pushing your cabinet instead of trying to carry 80 pounds of wood and steel. Get the casters.

I use two Peavey Wolfgang Specials. One stoptail and one with tremelo. 3 different Marshall 2555SL SLASH heads, so obviously I am looking for a heavier sound and I get it with the Eminence V12's. I am in love with the sound that they give me. I tried the Celestion Vintage 30 route like I said before and I personally didn't like it. The combination idea really has me wondering. Interestingly, I believe that Slash has Vintage 30's in his signature cabinets and I like his sound.

Covered in a very tough, heavy duty looking black fabric. Sort of like a really thin carpet or astroturf. I did not like the idea when I was originally ordering, but I like it now and it looks cool as hell. Not a whole lot is going to damage this thing outside of dropping it out of a 3rd floor window. I recommend ordering the casters. If you have ever owned a 4x12 cabinet without them you'll know what I mean.

Another well deserved ten. My cabinet has two G12H30 across the bottom, a V30, and a Greenback on top. This setup rules. I've got all the tones covered, from ripping highs and thumping lows. I play through a PRS, and a Soldano HR 50+XL head. I have a hard time leaving the house because this combo sounds so good you want to keep playing.

If you are in the market for a cab, get on the phone and call this guy. You can pick out your setup exactly how you want it. I just can't say enough, you will be happy knowing you got things exactly how you wanted it, instead of having to settle for less just to have a cabinet with the same logo as your amp head.
BTW, the Avatar metal grille compliments the Soldano metal diamond pattern well.

This is an Avatar slant cab with 4 Celestion Vintage 30s. It's covered in carpet, not as durable as tolex. Great heavy-duty steel handles on the side. I ordered 4 castor wheels for the bottom, and assumed they would be put on for me. They were simply enclosed in the box, and no screws were provided. The only other thing I don't like it the surface area of the top. It fits my amp ok, but it's pretty small.
Despite all these minor things, I'm confident that it will last a good long time and it looks freaking brutal.

I'm playing a Ibanez RG450 through a modified 5150 head into this cabinet. The V30s are the greatest speaker in the world. It sounds amazing. I recommend Avatar to any lead player. Because that cabinet is not as deep as most, the sound stands out even more.

Not sure yet, but as long as I take good care of it, I'll have it for a long time. The beauty of it is that I got 4 - $110 speakers in a cabinet for $450. Do the math and it doesn't matter if it lasts or not, cuz I only paid $10 for construction.

I've been playing for over eight years (I'm only eighteen). I've done a lot of research on equipment, etc. This is the best deal for cabinets in the world. If you are not rich, and need speakers, there's no reason not to get an Avatar. I plan on upgrading to a full stack with a set of Eminence V12s on bottom in the future. Great company with a great idea and great product.

4X12 Avatar slant cab - here's the direct link: http://www.avatarspeakers.com/g412sl.htm
metal grill - good protection and looks very good
2 jacks in the back - one input, one to go to another cab. 8 ohms
Not stereo, but still an excellent value.

I use a 1984 Ibanez X-series guitar, blade humbuckers. Run through a Randall RG-100 ES head. I play hard rock and metal.
First off, I suggest the Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. Great full sound, perfect for hard and heavy sounds. No rattles, squeaks, creaks, or anything that sounds weak in any manner whatsoever. Solid sound, from low to high volume, clean or dirty, through and through.

I've only had it for about 2 months, but I can tell you this: it's built like a panzer tank. All plywood, none of that cheap cardboard crap here. Dead solid construction, 85 pounds tough (I know..... I forgot to order the damn casters!), hard corner protectors, good metal grill up front (functional and fashionable). This one will take a lickin and keep on tickin.

These are awesome closed back speaker cabinets with your choice of stereo or mono wiring schemes and impedence ratings. Along with this, you get to choose from an impressive selection of speakers. The cabs are covered in a carpet type material which I think dampens the chaotic frequencies such that these cabinets sound much better than with a tolex covering. Much more durable too. It would take a pretty bad snag to tear the covering on an Avatar speaker cab. Daily bumbs and dings won't phase them at all. The cabinets are constructed of thick playwood and dadoed for super strong joints. An occasional vacuum job is all it takes to make them look brand new after a little dust collects.

This is where these things really shine. Not only are they strong, durable and good looking, they sound incredible. I am the proud owner of two Avatar Speaker G412 cabinets and I will own others down the road.
The first cabinet I bought was an 8 ohm, loaded with the standard Eminence V12's. Frankly speaking, this is the absolute best 4x12 cabinet/speaker combination value in America today. The Eminence V12's make every amp and guitar I own sound like concert quality. I couldn't be happier with this cabinet. $199.00 plus $49.00 shipping is all it takes to enhance your tone! Your cabinet will typically be ordered one day, built and shipped the next day, and at your front door in 3-7 days after that. I live in Reno, Nevada and my cabinet was delivered in flawless condition 5 days after I called Dave to order it, including a weekend!
My second cabinet was an 8 ohm G412 but this time I ordered it with Celestion Vintage 30's. This was for a specific reason although there are other benefits too. The primary reason I bought this second cab with VIN30's was to compliment the first cab with the Eminence V12's. I called Dave to talk about the speaker characteristics before I made my decision.
In a nutshell, the Eminence V12's are strong on the bottom end but very responsive to EQ adjustments. The VIN30's are really good across the entire spectrum but really good with the mids and highs while still sounding warm. But here is where things become totally amazing . . . stacking these two speaker types/cabs on top of each other takes you guitar tone into a whole new realm! I put the cab with the VIN30's on top of the cab with the V12's and I almost had to call 911 because my heart started pounding out of control the minute I started playing!. I use a Carvin all mahogany DC127 with a quilt cap and pplay with 3 tube amps, a Carvin Bel Air with the GT12's, a Peavey Triumph 60 tube head and a Sovtek MIG-60. Each of these amps have found a synergy with this speaker cab configuration that takes each of these amps and enhances their capabilities beyond anything you can imagine.
This is the benchmark in what a stack should sound like and there is no better way to acquire this tone than with two Avatar cabinets with complimenting speaker types. I am in total awe every time I power up!

I am a big man and could stand on top if these cabinets and there would be virtually no movment in these cabinets. They are as solid as a rock. No rattles or funny noises. Just pure tone, especially with the V12/VIN30 combination . . . Just amazing. . .

This is another strong point. The Avatar service and support is beyond the scope of what you are paying for these awesome cabinets. Make a call or send an email for any reason and you'll be heard and taken care of. Not only do they stand behind their products but you can get professional answers and counseling to help you make a very informed decision on the speaker cabinet you need.

Any Avatar cabinet is going to sound as good as any other brand of cabinets with the same speakers but you're going to pay hundreds more for names and tolex, both of which mean nothing to your tone. If you combine complimenting speaker types like I did, you'll never look back and will see other cabinets in a totally different light for their lack of value when compared to Avatar. Forget the gripes about no casters. As you know by now, they are right at the size limit for UPS shipping so save yourself some money and stop griping about wheels. Avatar's optional wheels are cheaper than your local Home Depot by far and with a handful of 1 inch wood screws and 15 minutes, you have wheels too.
I have to emphasize again how the tone of the 2 cabs with V12's on the bottom and VIN30's on the top is. WOW! Tone from the heavens!
There is no better value for speaker cabinets anywhere. You can try but you won't find a better deal anywhere.

4X12 Slant Cab that I had Dave install with 4 Celestion G12H30's. Has two jacks in the back for rigging up to other speaker cabs. 8 ohms. Metal grid which I think looks pretty awesome, and black felt covering 1/4 plywood. Very sturdy. I was impressed when I first saw it. Who is that cracker that complained about the back being about 1/4 inch set in? Talk about a nit-picker. This cabinet is very well made.

This cabinet sounds great. All the lows I could hope for. The Celestion G12's sound beautiful -- nice n' warm w/ plenty of crunch. Sounds almost like a cocked wah w/ my Super Distortion pickup in my SG. I play with a hot rodded Marshall JCM 800 and it sounds fab. I'd be curious to hear how it sounds mixed with two Celestion Vintage 30's, as I read some other people are doing -- but I don't really see the point since the soundman usually only mic's one speaker anyway. When my band gets its own soundman I might try a combo 2 G12's w/ 2 Vintage 30's cuz then I can work with the soundman to get a perfect mix of the speakers out on the floor. But most soundmen at clubs don't give a hoot and they'll just pop a mic on a speaker and not really care about getting the sweet spots.

I recorded some tracks with this thing right after I bought it, and they were the best sounding guitar tracks I've ever recorded. Both my Marshall JCM 800 and my cheesy-as-hell ART 80/80 (which I use sometimes for getting a particular sound) sounded incredible to tape with the Avatar. Just stick two Shure SM-57's on this biotch, and you're sure to get a great recorded sound. I enjoyed my sound on stage too, although it's harder to tell b/c my band plays so blisteringly loud. But I've sat around my house for hours playing this thing and the overtones and beef and warmth and everything about it -- sounds very good.
