The sound quality of this cab is 2nd to none. I don't know if it is the smaller size than what a marshall or mesa cab is, but it's got a tighter mid-bottom end, maybe it's just the vintage 30's. When using distortion at a louder than stage volume you can still hear, and feel, the thwump sound when chugging. It is absolutly the best. The best part is my other guitarist keeps trying to plug in his Mesa Roadking into the Avatar cab. It just sounds better than that half open back hybrid of a cab that mesa puts out for the roadking.

Avatar has been nothing but prompt and courteous with my order. I haven't had any problems with the cab or anything. Hey..If I blow a speaker, i'm the idiot right? Any emails i've sent have been answered within a day or so.

I've played guitar for bout 10 years, This is the first 4x12 cab ive actually purchased. And, yes, price was a big selling point. I had a mesa 2x12 recto cab for a while and it sounded good, but the lower end seemed muddy. This cab has more of a rounded sound. It may be the v30's that give it the sound i want, but hey, it doen't matter what the brand name says on the front of your equipment that gives it a good sound. It's knowing what sound you want and achieving it with the right equipment.

My gear:
Gibson SG Special faded...Seymour Duncan Phat Cat in the bridge (humbucker sized soapbar). And a Peavey Classic 30.
This cab sounds great. Friggin' loud. Adds tons of body and a great midrange punch. Very clear and articulate. It's stays very clear with my heavy stoner sound.

This is the 2nd Avatar cab I've had. This 412 is a replacement for my 212. There was nothing wrong with it, I just wanted more. The 212 is great, too. It's loaded with Eminence V12, which also sound great. A bit more in the bottom end than a V30, and a little less in the mids. Also sound very heavy.
But anyway, Avatar gear is super reliable. Nice and tight construction. Lovin' it.

Again, this thing sounds really great. I haven't had time to truly break in the Vintage 30's yet, but even right out of the box this thing slays. It's a bit brittle at first, but that's the way Vintage 30's tend to be. After 20 hours or so of serious play, they'll warm up. The Eminences I spoke of earlier really sounded great after a few months. And more than a year of consistent and loud play later, it's crankin' better than new.

I am currently using a mesa boogie dc-5 head through this avatar 4x12. I plugged into the avatar and a mesa boogie oversized recto cab and the avatar sounded clearer, tighter, and just better. For over half the price of a big name cab, this cab that looks and sounds better is an incredible deal. Good for all genres!

Dave is great. Very friendly and quick responding via email. I haven't tried calling. Comes with a warranty I think but I can't imagine needing it.

I've been playing around 10 years. Ive had several cabs including a marshall valvestate 4x12, a marshall 1960A 4x12, and a mesa over sized recto 4x12 before this avatar. Ive never had trouble with a cab, I've just never found the perfect tone. The search is over. It wins in every category! Looks, price and most importantly sound! ONCE YOU GO AVATAR I DOUBT YOU'LL GO BACK!
