It's a 12" speaker!

Sound Quality : 10
I put 2 of these in my TopHat Super Deluxe.
I replaced the 2 Weber alnicos that I did not care for.
I don't know how they do it at Avatar, but these speakers
rule in my combo. Over the past few years I've been
using Eminence Governors or Private Jacks. I still really
like the Governors. These Avatar/Celestion G12H/Hellatones
are better. The Lows are as tight as the Governor & the
mids are even better. I'm not a big fan of Vintage 30's.
That being said I would be willing to try the Hellatone 60
at some point.
They kind of remind me of a Greenback with tighter/fatter Low-end
& far superior mids.
Great Speaker, Great Price.

I have bought 3 cabs & many speakers from Avatar.
I had one shipping problem about 3 years ago & within minutes
they took care of it!

Great Speakers. I'm sure they would sound great in a 4x12 cab.
I've been at the Rock & Roll thing for a long time. It's nice
to come across a great deal once in a while. I don't care as
much about price as I do performance.
These Deliver Killer Tone.
My first choice in any open back 2x12 cab would be the Hellatone 30.
I didn't see myself going back to Celestion speakers again.
Never say Never!

I had a custom boutique 65 blonde Deluxe Reverb made and a Hellatone 30 came with it. This speaker is "THE BOMB"! Beautiful bottom & mids with a sparkle in the treble ranges. Mercury Trannys & PTP wiring help but lets face it; this speaker sounds like nothing else I've ever heard! Anyone with a DR or DRRI would be insane not to try this pup out. I cannot say enough good things about this speaker or the people that put it out. If you have a DR or DRRI, I would contact these people immediately, you won't be dissapointed.

Celestion g12h30 broken in and relabled by Avatar--I have a 16 ohm version that I run in a Crate Palomino (Class A, 15 watt open back combo)

Sound Quality : 10
I've not heard a non-pre-broken in G12H, but, compared to the stock speaker --another type of celestion--this speaker is warmer, less boxey sounding with no shrill highs, it's quite full sounding now and overall sounds more rich. The Palomino is a great little amp, and when you get it cookin', just on the edge of breakup (Master dimed and gain btw 2-4) she just blooms with class A goodness--very responsive to touch. Like I say, the switch to the Hellatone got rid of the boxey mids and spikey highs(which I hate) and made this amp very musical. It's not a cheap speaker but it's cheaper than if they had left the Celestion label on it!

after alomost a year, she's still kickin'

The guys at Avatar are super friendly and helpful. This is the way all companies should be.

Worth the money for the tone, but not a "fanastic deal". I finally decided on this after much researching on the web...who can afford to test products you can't bring back? I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this speaker to anyone looking for what I was looking for in a speaker.

From the guys in Dalton Gardens ID. comes the Hellatone 30 ... Features? .... EASY.. MORE LOW END...GREAT LOW MIDS... BUTT-KICKING MIDRANGE... AND THE SWEETEST NON-SPIKY HIGHS OF ANY CELESTION G12H 30 EVER MADE !!!!!

Sound Quality : 10
This speaker made my Bad Cat Hot Cat 15 sound so good I could not believe it !!! More bottom than the Bad Cat modded Celestion Vintage 30... tight, solid mids and the best of all... no more spiky highs !!!! All the chime and charm of the amp still comes through, it just sounds smoother and like this speaker was made and voiced just for this amp !!!! OUTSTANDING !!!!

8ohm 12" 30 watt speaker. Only 4 holes to bolt it into my fender deluxe reverb ri which has 8 bolts, originally. I had to rip off the grille fabric and remove 4 bolts and then glue and staple the grille back together, which pissed me off, but when i plugged in the guitar it was worth it, even though the hellatone logo on the back of the speaker is at an angle...but, really, who cares. It's a broken in celestion G12 and it's cheaper than one that's not broken in but has the celestion sticker on the back!

Sound Quality : 10
Hella good. I have a tokai hummingbird. The P90s can be really harsh and piercing with the wrong speaker. I had a weber 15 watt alnico speaker before. It's a great raw sounding speaker with humbuckers on a clean setting. It was still piercing when turned up, though, and buzzed with distortion. The hellatone has a lot of depth and sounds good clean and with any distortion i put in front of it. Of course, it blows away the stock celestion i had in the fender deluxe reverb ri. I haven't heard a celestion G12 that's not broken in, but don't all guitar amp speakers sound better when they're broken in?

Reliability : 10
It's heavy. The four bolts seem to hold it to the amp fine. I've only had it about a month now.

I emailed dave with questions before i bought it and recieved a response back pretty quickly. I paid for it and it shipped out right away.

Great Deal. I'm happy every time i turn on my amp.

I believe this speaker is broken in by Avatar for 15 hours. It's a Celestion G12H30.

Sound Quality : 10
I bought this speaker hoping to improve the low end in my Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue and it did just that! I liked the high end and mid response from the stock Jensen speaker but the low end was too flubby for my liking. I was told that the Hellatone would take care of that and did it ever. Nice, tight low end without sounding stiff with a great smooth mid response. Not at all barkey, and the high end seems to be a bit crisper but without being shrill. Gave me more clean headroom also. All in all it seems to sound more detailed than the stock Jensen speaker. I use a Barber Direct Drive SS for my overdrive sounds and it sounds so much better now thru the Hellatone. A 100% improvement.

Time will tell. I'm thinkin about ordering a second one to use as an extension.

Avatar seems like a good company to deal with. I've talked to Dave on the phone and he seems like a very good guy to deal with.

I'm very happy with the way my amp now sounds. A HUGE improvement over the stock speaker. I'd definatley recommend trying one for yourself.

it's a speaker! how many features can it have? 50 ounce ceramic mag., according to the Avatar website, essentially a broken-in Celestion g12h30.

Sound Quality : 9
i'm very pleased with this speaker after about 3 weeks of use, including playing out. i'm usijng it in a Peavey Classic 30 with JJ tubes -- formerly had an Eminence Legend 122 in it, which was a big upgrade over the stock Blue Marvel, but not quite what I was looking for -- the Hellatone 30 is i think as good as it gets -- i can't see getting a better sound out of this amp, at least not due to speaker changes. i play mainly blues, and it's great for that -- i would think for most rock applications and even jazz, since it's pretty warm and smooth.

Reliability : 9
so far, so good....

i bought it from avatar -- this is the second speaker i've gotten from them, and both times i've been very pleased with the quick shipping, excellent packaging, good email responses and high quality of the product, not to mention very good prices.

Overall Rating : 9
i do believe this is as good as it gets in terms of speakers -- i would definitely use it again

30 watt 8 ohms Celestion speaker that is 'broken in' by Avatar.

Sound Quality : 9
I put this in a Bogner 1x12 cabinet after using a Weber Californian and an Eminence Tonker. The Weber was very bright, good for cleans but really harsh with the drive channel of my Two Rock Custom. The Tonker was better, but the Hellatone is smoother and warmer on all counts--great with my Budda SuperDrive II and my Two Rock (although the Two Rock would still be better served with a 2x12). It really sings on the drive channel of the Budda--sounds like much more than a 1x12. The Bogner is a good cabinet, and that's part of the equation, but the Hellatone is really nice for vintage sounding overdrive, and is very nice on cleans as well.

Reliability : No Opinion
It's gotten warmer in the month or so I've been using it. No problems at all, but I'll have to use it for a couple years before I can give a rating here.

Customer Support : 10
Dave at Avatar Speakers was great to deal with, and I was able to pick this up for a really cheap price through a lucky ebay bid (I expected to lose, but I got got lucky). I'm sure others who have dealt with Dave have had similar experiences--a very friendly guy who knows his products well and delivers excellent customer service. I'll be coming back to Avatar sometime in the future for more Hellatones to try out in a 2x12 application.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall, this is a great speaker for my purposes/tastes. I wanted a speaker that delivered warmth with a full body. This is not a Tone Tubby, but it has a full-bodied sound that is vintage in nature. I wouldn't go to it as a speaker solely for clean jazzy tones, but it's versatile enough to work in most applications. But where it shines for me is both channels of my Budda--EL84s with a clean channel that has a little sag and a touch of roughness around the edges and a very warm vintage Marshall-y drive channel. I will keep experimenting with speakers for different applications, but this is my go-to for anything in a Marshall-style rock tone. For the price I got, I would have to give it a 10, but I'm applying the rating against the normal price. We all respond differently to different sounds, but if you like a bit of warmth in your classic Marshall sound the Hellatone will fit the bill.

Phenominal sounding speaker. I replaced the stock speaker in my old Randall RG50 1x12 combo, and the difference is night and day. The speaker (which is just a pre-aged G12H30) has really good high end detail, and a good strong mid "honk." I play a lot of classic rock, hardrock, and 80's metal, and the speaker is a great match.

In the room, no 1x12 is going to sound as "big" as a 4x12, regardless of the speakers used...but properly mic'ed up, the little 1x12 with the Hellatone sounds just as impressive!

Dave is a great guy to do business with - I told him what kind of sound I wanted, he recommended the speaker to me, and it's a perfect match! And the price is right.

Overall Rating : 10
I've owned Dave's cabs in the past also - great cabs for the price. I still favor my THD 2x12, but the Avatar cabs are almost half the price, and gets the job done just fine.

i'd put this speaker in a 2x12 cab or combo, great with vintage/boutique amp setups. the 15 hrs 'break-in' on this model was genius, nothing sounds better than a broken in speaker compared to the sterility when you first get 'em. good price, good value, good quality. thank you avatar speakers.
