Plenty of settings with this amp. The Low Resonance knob adds something a little different. The reverb functions fine, and the contour knob on the dirty channel lets you dial in a more modern tone if you so choose.

Sound Quality : 10
I love the sound of this amp with all my guits. It does great with double humbuckers or my strats so I cannot complain here. There are more modern distortion tones in this amp but I dial down the gain and get some great vintage tones as well. I have plugged this into a marshall 1960a cab for some shows and it can get loud enough for anywhere. Clean is just that, nice and clean. Unless you want to go deaf at a young age, you will not be forcing overdrive out of this channel. I thought the factory power tubes to be a little harsh so after playing for a few hours to break them in, I switched them out with some mesa's I had laying around and that makes this amp killer!!!

Reliability : 10
So far so good. I have had it two years or so and it was used when I bought it. I have gigged with it and used it at a lot of rehearsals. I heard someone say they had an issue with fuses but mine are still original.

I have not had to deal with them for anything so cannot say.

I have tons of gear and this amp keeps up with the big boys. I have a Peavey Windsor, Peavey Valveking, Peavey XXX, Mesa DC-5, Laney LC50H, (Marshall TSL sold), Epi Valve Jr w/mods. I mix up these heads depending on the needs with a 5150 peavey Cab, Marshall 1960a, or a vintage Marshall with pre-rola 55hz 12's.
I have lots of home brew guitars since I like to mod them.
2 LP Classics with custom wound pickups, Several strat clones and a 1991 Am. Std.

I'm sure the specs have been mentioned before. Mine is 2006 model that was purchased at a Guitar Center (in Boardman, Ohio of all places).

Pretty basic 2-channel all tube combo. 60W. etc, etc.

Sound Quality : 7
For pretty much the first half a year of use, the amp functioned relatively well.

When I had initially purchased it, I had a very different mindset about playing as well as equipment. I was running a heavily modded Kramer Striker through a GT6 into the front of this amp. The amp doesn't really color the sound of the signal from the processor, but rather adds more clarity and warmth to it - mind you I was running the signal through to the clean channel. This amp can definitely go pretty loud on clean, and when you really max out the clean channel, it distorts fairly OK. But this thing can go loud enough to cover small gigs (without being mic'd) pretty well.

Since last year, I've changed my playing dramatically, and have been running an American Deluxe Strat with Bill Lawrence SCN pups straight thru to the amp's front end. For the first time the clean channel of the amp really shown through. Warm, pristine, clean sound! With the reverb it adds a nice touch, for anything between idyllic washy trippy cleans, to sharp edged tight twangier sounds - and with my guitar I could routine coax splendid clean blues and jazz tones out of it.

The OD channel's distortion is sufficient to cover metal with the right kinda guitar (enough gain, and you can always throw in one of them distortion stompboxes to up the gain). However, when running my Strat straight through I never really liked the distorted sounds with the gain set to very high, it lacked warmth and cohesion; tweaking the contour knob higher makes the sound muddy. By turning down the gain, and setting the volume at 12 o clock, I got better results - with my guitar I could coax out a decent jazz fusion sound; cross between Jeff Beck and Derek Trucks maybe? but I never really got that "sweet spot" and I have never been satisfied completely.

NOTE: I haven't run any stompboxes or boutique pedals in front of this thing, and I have no idea how it reacts to them. The GT6 in front of the clean channel worked OK.

Reliability : 2
This is where the amp really let me down. Within days of getting it the footswitch which came with it busted. I could toggle the reverb on the amp, but couldn't switch between dirty/clean channels - I didn't bother about it initially since I was exclusively using the clean channel - obviously gigging with this thing though is out of question if you're planning to toggle between channels.

Secondly, the FX loop never worked, would have liked to use it, but just did not work.

Finally my major hang up with the amp was brought on by some serious issues. Last year while I was practicing by myself, the clean channel just died. No warning signs, nothing - the clean channel simply went dead. Since I wasn't actively gigging then, I got through for a while by running through the dirty channel and toggling the levels and gain by manipulating it through my guitar. Eventually the dirty channel started developing its own problems - the gain started to emit the proverbial "farting" sound and the amp got extremely noisy. I eventually had to get it shipped to an authorized service center for repairs.

After repairs, the amp was working fine but as of earlier last month; the exact same problems happened again! Ditto! When I had gotten it repaired the first time, I was told by the servicing guys that it was simply a case of "loose tubes". I doubt that could've repeated itself again, or maybe they didn't do a great job fixing it.

Bottom of the line: this amp is completely unreliable.

Customer Support : 7
B52 pro audio have a helpful customer service; I'm sending my amp for repairs again, and both times they have facilitated the process efficiently.

NOTE: the company does not cover shipping charges to their authorized service centers! (I was also covered under guitar center's performance guarantee, so they covered the shipping).

It's a 5 year limited warranty, that does not include damages made to the tubes or the speaker cab.

Overall Rating : 5
If the amp would have ever actually functioned in its entirety, I'm sure it would be a decent working horse inexpensive tube amp. Unfortunately it never worked as well as it should have, and thus I never really got into it. Sure you can get some good sounds out of this thing, but given the reliability issues, I'm trying to get rid of this amp and buy something from a more established company like Fender, or ENGL.

This is a decent entry level tube amp, and for it's price would be a strong competitor in its market, but reliability issues are bringing it down majorly + it completely lacks that sought after vintage vibe.

If it got lost or stolen, it'd honestly be a load of me mind - I dunno how much resale value this amp has.

AT112, 60w - 2 channel, effects loop, footswitch.

I bought this amp a year and a half ago, and right away it started blowing fuses. Nothing in the diagram that came with it showed the fuse I found just under the power cord prongs (on back of amp). After going through about 50 fuses, and wondering why there is an apparently large cooling fan that draws a lot of current at power up, I put a 4 amp fuse in (don't do this if you don't want to risk it all!), and haven't had a problem since- with that anyway. The clean channel has always hissed a lot, but I mostly use the maxxed out O.D. channel because it just sounds so good- harmonically complex. The effects loop does not work, but I don't need it.

Customer Support : 2
I live on an island, and getting it serviced was impossible even under warranty- they do not cover shipping, and it would almost cost as much as the amp did to travel to a service center. Communication with B52 was prompt, but they couldn't tell me anything.

Overall Rating : 7
Despite the flaws, I have gigged this amp in terrible places. It has gotten wet, kicked, and played at top volume, and as long as I brought fuses with me, I had no worries. It sounds great at low volume also. Maybe they will iron out the kinks by the time I upgrade to the 212, but I'll put up with it anyway.

Features have all been listed. Clean channel is pretty loud at 60 tube watts, and the lead channel can get pretty loud without a lot of distortion. Heavy, but the casters are great. Not exactly sure of the year, but I think this line was new for the first part of 2006. Most stores were not yet carrying this amp when I bought it.

Sound Quality : 8
The day I picked this thing out I played it next to a used Marshall JTM-30, a Crate Palomino 16, and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, all of which were similarly priced. Here's why I picked it. The clean channel really does stay pretty clean until around 7 1/2 or 8. It's very natural sounding, but darker than Fender's clean. Compared to the JTM and Palomino, the gain was smoother, and much more versatile. With the contour knob you can make it a bit crunchier to match the Marshall and Crate, and it certainly had way more gain than the Hot Rod. Only the Hot Rod came close to matching the B-52's volume. I play on an Epiphone Casino and an Oscar Schmidt OE-30, upgraded with Gibson PAF humbuckers. Lately there has been a bit of hissing and popping from the amp, but it sounds more like it is just in need of a good re-tubing.

Reliability : 8
About a month and a half after I got it, it starting blowing fuses, but I honestly do not know enough about amps to say whether this was a malfunction in the amp, the power cable, or simply poor care on my part. For a while afterward I turned every knob down to zero to power on and off just in case, and that seemed to do the trick, and it hasn't blown a fuse for over six months. Some of the tubes are starting to lose their life, but I did buy the floor model, so that is to be expected. Other than that, I have had no problems with this beast.

Customer Support : No Opinion
No experience in this category.

Overall Rating : 7
Before this amp, I had a Line 6 flextone II XL, so I was itching to get into the tube amp world. Honestly, I don't think I could have picked a better amp to get into tube amps. The clean tone is not as good as what I've heard from Mesas (esp. the Nomad 45), and the lead channel certainly doesn't have the ability to bring out a guitar's natural tone like say a Matchless or Orange does, but for the price, this was the right amp for me. If it were lost or stolen, I probably wouldn't buy another one, because it would be a good excuse to upgrade, but I'd certainly be broken up about it.

Has 4/8/16 ohm impedance selector, long tank spring reverb, and Tubes! looks very impressive. Separate gain control on lead channel and mid scoop control. Has master reverb and Resonance.

Sound Quality : 2
I only listened to the dirty channel since that is the only one that worked! It sounded great to me, and very loud. The clean channel did not work at all, so I could not buy the amp, more on that below.

Here is what I ran into searching for this amp. First store - AT112 had no workiong clean channel. Yes we tried the footswich. Second store - had one AT112 but needed "repair" - they were not specific. Here is the killer - Third store - Two AT112's - niether one powered up! ok, this is redicluos! Four out of four? That's not all - I called a fourth store about 150 miles away - that's how bad I wanted to hear one of these. Here is what he said - i kid you not: "yes, we have had one for a week now, but you better get here soon before it dies" That type of sales pitch did not instill a lot of confidence in me. That's not all: I tried two AT212's, one did not power up, the other had a service tag still on it. Folks, that is 6 amps out 7 from B-52 that did not work out of the box, one only after repair - but oddly they were selling it as new, some one forgot to take the repair tag off the cord.

Customer Support : 1
I feel very sorry for the people at B-52. Some engineers should be fired, and quality control is non-existant. I would have been exrtemely angry if mine crapped out during a show. Equipment like this should not be on the market. They get a one becuase they work for a company that produces such garbage.

Overall Rating : 1
I have been playing 30 years, since i was in diapers. I had my heart set on buying one of these for a practice amp, if I could have found one within a 200 mile radius of where I live. There are 12 Guitar centers in my area, none had a working AT112. That is sad. Yes i could go mail order, but what are the odds I would get a good one? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I got a Vox instead. I'll take my chances with Korg.

2 channel, 1-12 inch speaker, 60 Watt, 6L6 or 5881 tubes, 5 12Ax7 tubes (4 for pre-amp). Line out and effects send and recieve (with level controls). Speaker Ohm selector (16, 8 and 4). Two speaker outputs. Overdrive channel has it's own tone controls and a contour switch for extra tonal adjustment. Control for adjusting Bass resonence. Reverb.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
This amp was a supprise in the tone department, the clean channel is better than my Mesa Boogie F-50, more dynamic and it does not have the ice-pick highs that plagued my Mesa-Boogie. The clean reacts dynamically a lot like a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe but not quite the same tonally, the clean is great for Jazz, Blues, 50's etc. With the stock speaker there is late break up so the clean stays clean at high volume levels (this changes with a speaker swap and you may get ealier breakup). Pedals work well, sounding smooth and not transistorish. Reverb is fine, works well.

Distortion or overdrive was a big suprise, it works really well, the contour knob is the feature that really helps one get the overdrive dialed in right. The overdrive is not fizzy and retains clarity even even when maxed out, it can be thin or fat depending where the contour knob is set. It can be bluesy when the gain is at 2 or 3 and your guitar volume rolled down to 5 or so. The amp has lots of distortion and yet retains quite a bit of smoothness, not grainy. It seems to need a low gain pedal like a Digitech Bad Monkey kicked in when using the overdrive channel to really drive it into Metal land.
The stock speaker is not bad for a variety of styles but a speaker upgrade can really help move the amp closer to another style, a Jenesen helps bring out the amps Fender quality and a Celestion Vintage 30 helps bring out the Britishness. Using the stock speaker with the stock tubes the bass seemed undefined and the bass resonence knob made it worse, I would just leave it off. A power tube change fixed this and made a big difference, I pulled the Sovtek 5881WXT's and replaced them, now the bass is defined and I can use the bass resonence knob effectively.

Not sure, I know there were problems with the B-52 AT 212, I havew not heard much regarding reliability issues with the AT - 112.

I paid $400 for this amp used and for that price it's a great deal. I have seen them selling for $545 and for this price it would be hard to find anything of this quality sound. This thing is built like a tank and has the largets transformer I have seen for a 60watt amp. It's faily heavy, about the same as a Mesa Boogie F-50 but it comes with casters!

It's a 60-watt, single 12-inch combo with reverb, contour, and low-resonance controls. Seperate bass, treble and mid for each of the two channels. The tone controls respond just like a boogie, that is, if you turn bass, mid and treble to zero, then you get no sound at all. Somewhat of a mesa rectoverb knockoff. This one doesn't have the triple rectifier like the other B-52's, but that doesn't seem to have any negative impact on tone. Effects loops with level controls, line out with level control. 7 freaking tubes! 5 12AX7's and 2 6L6's.I can't think of anything you could possibly ask for more of from a measly $549 amp.

Sound Quality : 10
The clean channel is good, but the distortion channel is brutal! Absolutely the most shred-tastic amp I've ever played through. Sounds great even at low volumes, but this thing is surprisingly loud for it's size. Classic rock and blues tones are difficult to achieve, but they are there if you're willing to tweak the tone for a while. It's like a smaller, more portable rectifier. I'm highly impressed with the sound so far.

Reliability : 6
I'm going to give it a six for this category because the first one I took home from Guitar Center had a problem with the clean channel (it wouldn't get very loud at all). I took it back and got the dinged up floor model, but it's working great so far...

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't used them yet, but some of the other comments in the other amp models make me a little worried.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for about 12 years or so. I've owned almost every amp imaginable, including numerous Boogies, Fenders, Carvins, Ampegs, and Peaveys. This has the best distortion channel I've heard so far. It is at least equal, if not slightly better than any of the boogies I've owned, and its a quieter, far less noisy amp. As long as it holds up I don't ever see myself getting rid of it, unless it's to get one of the bigger models. For $549 it's an incredible deal!
