Not sure of the year, only a couple of years old. Got it used at Guitar Center for 199.99, including the warranty. This is a very versatile amp, it can handle any style of music. I am running a Peavey 5150 II through this bottom and it sound killer. Though I am not in a band, I use this amp to jam at home and my brother comes over to play drums and his buddy comes over to play guitar and we rock it occasionally and this amp sound great with everything going at the same time, I can hear it great.

I play a Fender American Stratocaster through this and am currently using no pedals and it still sound excellent. It handles the distortion of the 5150 II with ease. The lows and highs this thing puts out are amazing. The clean sounds great through it, it really bites you.

I've had it for over 2 months now and even though it was used I have had no problems whatsoever with it. It does have a few dings and scratchs in it but it affects the sound not at all. Its made of really thick wood too, so it should withstand about anything.

Havent had to deal with them. But seeing to how I have the warranty through Guitar Center I would probably deal with GC anyway.

I've been playing guitar for 8 years and most of my playing was through a Peavey 112 Express so this is definetly superior to that. For the price that it lists at it is one of the best amps out there for the price. Even though I got it at a steal, I was prepared to pay the 400.00 for it when I walked in the door. Cant wait to get a couple of pedals to play around with, I'm sure it'll sound even better.

This cab shines in almost any situation,I run a Mesa MarkIII simul class head through this with a DSP16 processor,an OD pedal, and a cry baby wah,I play 80's metal and some folk and blues. No matter where I point my amp this cab follows with precision,I tried Marshall,Mesa,Peavey,Line6,and Crate. To me the B-52 rivaled and surpassed all on my head.I gig with this setup and a couple of guys that were using marshall cabs went and bought this cab after hearing it!Tonal beauty here guys!

Again been playing 35 years ... Use a 96 Fender Lonestar (Fat Strat SSH), 52 Tele RI and last night I got my 1980 ES-335 out of the closet to play with this set-up.....WoW! Wish I would have had this stuff back in the 70s. I have only played through Marshall at large outdoor venues (borrowed from music store) but, I would not hesitate to set this against a Marshall stack any day any place, any time. I would suggest that you try this out before spending the big bucks (unless you have them)...I buy quality guitars for the re-sale investment value....not sure that it works with Cabs. So if you need a great sounding, hard working, good looking 412....check this out.

Stereo 8ohm, mono 4 or 16ohm, 13 ply birch (!!!!) and MUCH better made than my old Peavey 5150 cab or my Marshall 1960A. Or at least much more SOlid and less rattle than my 1960A, definitely better MADE than the Peavey which costs more. IT looks REALLY nice, if it had a Mesa badge on it, would definitely sell for $800 easy. Has every feature a cab could have really. And at nearly 500w power handling, with incredible efficiency to begin with, what more could you ask for in features?

Very wide range frequency response, that includes the low end response which we metal heads absolutely LOVE. Does not mean its a bass heavy cab, it means its capable of handling tons of it if you want to dial it in. It seriously handles more bass than any cab i've used so far. The frequency response of this cab is very flat and VERY VERY clear. I'm not talking sterile modeling amp (line 6) crap speakers, they definitely have lots of character and the accuracy is AMAZING, even the bass follows your strings vibrations instead of a hazed over bass you hear in other cabs. You hear and FEEL the low E string vibrating! It responds SO well to an EQ, if you want an incredibly harsh sound, or an incredibly warm sound, a classic fuzzy sound, or a clear live sound, a studio recording sound, or a concert raw sound, its possible.
Many cabs i've had are prevoiced and really, that voice comes through no matter what, which is great if you like only that one signature sound, or have tons of money (and space!) to buy 4 or 5 cabs, 1 for each type of sound or amp you have. But for others this cab is PERFECT, you can voice it however you like!

no need yet, why do people even rate this when they haven't even contacted them before? I see people rate things at like 5 or 6 and say from what i'v eheard they suck.........or i bet they would suck. I mean come ON if it doesn't apply don't rate it!

I've had a Mesa oversized Recto cab which is my favorite cab, and this one comes close to it for sure, at less than 1/2 price. 2 of these could CRUSH a single mesa for sound, so i'd much rather have 2 of these than 1 Mesa at the same price.
Even if i could only have 1 reguardless of price, this one comes close to sounding as good. I hate people who hype things up, and even worst is the opposite, people who are very narrow minded and give bad reviews of things that they don't know how to use very good, or don't use it for the right purpose or what it was meant for. Or people who compare everything to $5000 heads or cabs, or expect WAY too much.
I will be the first to rate something bad if i don't like it, and i feel i can confidently say this is the best cab available right now for under $800. Now i've heard the tolex sucks and that is true for almost all amps and cabs. Manufacturers need to find a better alternative to tolex, its obviously not holding up to even mild collisions or sharp objects.
If you are a metal head this IS your cab. If you are a clean player this IS your cab. You can voice it to sound like a classic cab, a metal cab, anything. IT seems to add so much character to any voicing you give it. It won't hold your tuning back like most voiced cabs.

Ok to start with I am a union stagehand so I am going to address a lot if techincal stuff for those like me who give a damm.
Basicaly they seem to put a decent prodect together for the price. Skimped where things were not as crittical. But for the most part tried to put together a good product for the price point.
Cabnet is mostly 1/2" baltic birtch ply. The back is the exception it is partical board. From what I can tell without cutting up the outer covering the joints of the cabent are just butted together and reinforced with a strip of ply as a corner block. Only a small amout of batting on the back of the cabnet. Steal corners. Ok removable casters, a little small for my taste. Nice handles, the back if the handles are rubber covered and the contour of the top of the handle inset is tapered nicely so it dose not press against your wrist when you pick up the thing.
The speakers are B-52 AT1216 x 4. They make them themselves. 12', 16ohm, 120watts each. The cabnet is wired for either mono or stereo configerations via a toggle switch. Mono ratted at 480watts at either 4ohms or 16ohms and stereo at 240watts at 8ohms a side. The switch and two 1/4" input jacks are mounted on a single sided PCB with big fat traces. The cabnet is wired with 18awg.

I was looking for cab to use for both guitar and Chapman Stick. My guitar sound is pretty stright forward metal. My stick sound is either clean or with heavy effects and synth patches. So a semi full range cabnet with good guitar voicing is what I was looking for. I play a Les Paul, an Ibanez S series, and a Ibanez RG 7 string along with my purpleheart Stick. Most of my amp gear is old ADA stuff. MP-2, MB-1, Microtube 200 and Boss SE-70 plus a Rane SP26 line mixer to mix the preamps down to a stereo signal.
I tested this cabnet against a few cheaper and a few more expensive options. including a Marshall 1960 lead, Ibanez's equivlent, the Line6 cab, and a H&K cab. I liked the stick sound better though this cabnet than any of the others. I have been playing the cab for a week or so. It did fine with a pretty loud jam session the other week. Sound good with the low C on the Stick. Stays pretty well balanced with highs, mids, and lows when you hitt it hard with the distortion. Only have to adjust the presestiance on my amp to compensate for lost highs when playing at lower levels. But that is pretty typical with closed back cabnets. I am pretty happy with it so far. I just got my power amp a few days befor I picked up the cab so I am still working things out. Only potential major draw back so far is it seams like the speakers could have a little longer voice coils. Hit them hard and really loud with distortions and it is not to impossable to make them hit the limit of their travel. But I am playing a 200 watt power amp. Cranked half way around 100 watts where most people top out I do not get the problem.

Haven't delt with them. Heard they are realy good at taking care of their pro audio users.
Waranty, lifetime on the cabnet, 5 years on the speakers.
Better that most of what is out there in the under $500 range. I did not get to try the Randall 2X12" + 15" cab I wanted to thought.

Got my B52 cab yesterday, Monday. Got my B52 AT-100 amp head today.
The cab at 399.00 is the best deal going today.... I plug my 65 Fender Twin Reverb into it and man it really brings the twin alive. I never thought that the twin could sound better but this cab really makes it shine. For an ever better sound set the cab on the left of the twin and use the speaker out on the twin to go into the left stereo of the cab into 8 ohms. This gives it the tight sound of the cab plus the loose sound of the open back twin. Amazing sound.
Now that I got the AT-100 amp today I find the cab to be better than any cab I have ever played. That includes Mesa, Marshall, Crate, or what have you. The quality of this cab lets you know right off that the sound is going to be good. Its unreal that they can sell this cab for 399.00 at Musicans Friend.
This B52 company really means business. And I am sure that they are going to give the competition a real big run for the money when musicians get the word that B52 is Better than the top name brands on the market today!
Everything from the quality birch wood construction and quality casters to the 120 watt speakers spells "This company means business"!
I might add that I have been playing electric guitar 40 + years and tested the B52 equipment out with two of my guitars, My Gibson Les Paul Standard and My G&L S-500 with single coil pick ups...

its fikken heavy tho, and i workout!! it heavier than my friend's marshall 800 model cab.... it looks nice too, very sleek off black and shiny n smooth... but yesterday i noticed that the vinyl started peeling on the bottom which pisses me off! cause ive had it only 2 months and i got it brand new...i might try to talk to guitar center to see if they'll help me out...of course the sound is unaffected and is worth every penny...i gave it a nine rating because of the peeling vinyl...

New from B-52 is the AT series, & yesterday, I picked up an AT-412 straight cab. Your basic 4x12 cab, a whopping 480 watts handling power, & made of Baltic Birch wood ( that was the seller for me really, I hate mdf ). Also has a switch to go from 4 ohms mono, to 8 ohms stereo & also 16 ohms stereo.

Sounds great to me. I needed a cab for the punk band I am playing in, & I use a Marshall VS-100 head ( alot of people hate these heads, but I love it ). Very very good punch, ungodly loud, & didn't woof at all. The new speakers they are using in this cab ( to me ) have way more punch than the LG cab. That must be the wood. Also, unlike the LG B-52 cabs, the back is closed all the way on this cab, no open back. Gave it a 9 cause there is always room for improvement.
