if you want a tank of a cab that is super loud (ground shaking)@ a ultra-fair low price, this is it. mind you, this IS NOT a marshall, mesa, etc. if you want those tonal ranges you'll have to spend 1000 bux more.

This is a standard 4x12 cab and it does have an open back. The open back is only about 5" at the bottom. It has the power of a monster but you will be surprised at the lows, mids and highs this cab puts out.

This thing sounds great. I am not a guitar center person. What a joke!!! I play a GNX4 straight into a Berhinger 1500 power amp into this cab and it is clean. I have have a lot of trouble with heads that make your sound different. Go into a studio and try to make your sound from a guitar head. I play Jackson guitars and Ibanez. How funny that this review is asking how brutal the distortion is because it depends on your processor. I am happy with my purchase.

A good cab for the price. Don't get caught up in a name brand like Marchall because I have owned a Marchall and for a low end cab this cab blows other low end cabs into the ground. Check it out for your self.

This guitar has some insane lows, whenever i playout the sound guys always complain of the lows this thing is ejecting. im using a crate GX900h head, i like it it sounds pretty good. My guitars are 2 Ibanez RGT 42s with Seymour Duncan JBs in them, and also i play through a Gibson Explorer, also with JB's. The clean channel is clean the whole time, the distortion is great. Ive never had problems with the cabinet clipping.

Sounds great. Doesn't break up, ever. It handles beautifuly with my Peavey VTM 60 head. It produces some of the richest sounds I've heard come out of an inexpensive amp cabinet. I didn't buy it because of the price, I bought it for the sound. When I said "I'll take it!" and flipped the tag to see this price, I almost fell over.

I've gigged with this thing once, in a field to a bunch of people, and it didn't let me down. I'm still testing the thing out, but it's built like an f'in tank.

I play a 91 USA strat with 3 Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups. I bought this because it was cheap. I even tried to convince myself that the tone was probably just as cheap. I play a vintage 66 fender bassman blackface and the tone is unbelievabe, just awesome. I don't know why? I have tried some other cabs, but this one just sounds like Stevie Ray. Very responsive to the slightest touch, and loud. I even have an original bassman cab with vintage jensens. The B52 sounds better.

I think if you stuck 1200.00 on the price tag, and said it was a marshall or something, it would get more respect. If you were Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, or Ronnie Milsap, you wouldn't give a crap what it said because you can't see anyway...but the tone would tell you that it's the real deal. I play professionally, and can only say, go plug your tube amp in it and see what comes out.

there are many great things about this cab that i like alot. The biggest is probably that you can use one of the 1/4" in/out jacks as an input and one as an output to hook up more cabs because i am all about loudness. it also responds very well and clearly whether it be as loud as my 550W metal head can go, or a volume setting of one on my 400W Fender power chorus. all in all its a great cab and it is worth every penny.

I use a Schecter C-1 semi hollow with custom duncan design humbuckers and piezo pickups. I use both a Fender Metalhead amplifier as well as a Fender power chorus. I play everything except country and this cab suits my needs with all I ask for and beyond with its phenominal clean channel response and clarity even at high volumes as well as the amazing sounding distortion channels that never get "muddy" when you turn it up. Its noise level never ceaswe to impress me from my old Fender 4x10 cab. This cab sounds amazing.

i have been playing for just about 6 years now and i also play drums so i have a set which i have also invested heavily on. If ever lost this cab or it was stolen from me I would most likely buy it again i think. the only thing i wish it had was a switch to change it from mono operation to stereo operation.

I have had the B-52 for around 2 years now. At first, I ran a 15watt Crate through it. Sounds stupid, I know, but I wanted something to beef up the sound at home. Recently I started playing with a band, and the 15watter works 1/2 decent for 1/2 the riffs. Right now I am running an Ibanez Tone Blaster 100 through it and its great. Very loud. A friend let me borrow his Randall head, though. The RH200 series. Any guitarist who wants a solid, loud, bass sound, combine the B-52 with the RH200. It sounds unreal.

I've read a lot of reviews of this product on this and many other sites. I'm simply writing this to anyone who is a serious musician and doesn't have a lot of money. What is all this talk of brand names, it seems that this is more of an opportunity for museum musicians to brag about the gear they have. Put away your peckers gentleman, this is about a guitar cabinet. I bought this yesterday and shortly after I was practicing with my band (we're all working class people, but we've been playing for a while so a new cab is a big deal) and we had a great time, good tones came out of it, very important for the style of guitar I play. The last thing I'm going to talk about is the gear that I have, but I'll just say that I have a vintage tube amp, and it sounds pretty sweet with it. To the people who say it's better than Marshall/Mesa, it's ridiculous, it's a good cab but Mesa costs as much as they do for a reason. For the other name brand snobs on this site, look into the facts before you spout off about startup companies etc. B-52 is owned and manufactured by Ampeg. Much the same way they're playing Fender's that are actually manufactured by Squire (or is that the other way around), but I'm not going to enter a pissing contest, you guys give real musicians and struggling artists a bad name, take you're major name brand gear lock yourself in your suburban houses and crank it up. Meanwhile I don't know quite how much my new cab can take, I live in an apartment in the big scary city (Seattle for you music snobs). To finish it, it really is 4 speakers in a piece of wood, how many features could it really have? The dual in/out is nice for when I eventually go to a full stack.

I'm not getting into what guitars I have, I can say, I've never touched an ESB, I have a few guitars, and quite frankly it should sound pretty good with any guitar. But I forgot that Robert Johnson wouldn't have been half the guitarist without his trusty Les Paul studio or American Strat (made in Memphis). And if you don't know who Robert Johnson is just leave this site and never come back again. Point it, playing through a couple different guitars, an electric and an electric/acoustic, it sounds pretty good, not bad at all for the price.

I've had it a day and pulled off some of the vinyl on the back from pulling out of the trunk last night coming back from band practice. But the 16 gage steel is fine, guys it's okay. I don't know how it's going to stand up on a West Coast tour we're going to do this summer, it's been with me for a day and because of the tear it looks worse than my '75 tube amp. I think it's lame.

Honestly the only cab that I found that even close to the price range is the Behringer (they make decent mixers), but I never got to try it out. The end all of it, is it's one of the cheapest guitar cabs that I've seen, and it's something that I think will be able to last a good couple of years, until my music budget can go up. Mostly I wanted to give my two cents about all these guys on this site. If you're a real musician, you're on a budget, hey this is a decent cab, it's not ugly and it works, it sounds pretty good with whatever gear I've matched it up with. It's not a mesa, or a Marshall, or a Peavey, but I expect to see some good things from B-52, but again we already have, they're called Ampeg. If you want an amp to impress your friends it may not be it, but I imagine it'll get me through a couple of gigs.
-Oh, and I don't work for guitar center, B-52 or anyother company, a review should honestly review the product to help a consumer make a decision not be grounds to brag about your gear or worthless features, I'm glad that my cab has bullet proof handles, that was such a problem with my last cab. Hope this helps someone.
