Clean is great the distortions leave something to be desired, to sterile and lifeless. Takes well to pedals though.

So far so good.

No dealings, requested a manual because one wasn't in the factory sealed box. No reply or manual yet. Just looked it up online at the website.

Best solid state head. I will be buying a good tube head later, looking at Bugera and a Peavey VK. Still researching those though. I do use a Windsor cab which I rewired to four ohms for optimum sound and it is really quite good sounding. The clean channel is almost tube like but you need to tweak it like any other head to get it into the sweet spot but once there it is o.k. I use a Boss OD3 with the gain setting low and the it did enhance the tube like response on the clean channel but as I stated before the distortions sound solid state and I thought virtually unusable.

New for 2007 model. Has three channels with thire own volume. The clean has a mid cut switch and bass, treb and mids. The two over drive channles share a bass, treb and mids but they both have a contour assing switch with a dail for the contour. You can have the contour set for both overdrive channles or just one. The contour gives a nice scooped mids sound. There is a master volume and master reverb. The three button foot switch lets you turn on or off the reverb and lets you switch bettween the three channles. There is an effects loop with a dail for the in and out settings for the effects. Two speaker out puts with a 4 ohm min. knocking off one piont for a master reverb. Its also very light weight which I like alot!

The cleans are very what I like to call PUNCHY. It cuts through well and the EQ works well on this channle. The two overdrives are great. I can get a awsome distortion on the first and then use my guitars volume to bring it down some for a nice but wicked overdrive. This leaves the other drive channle for my lead. OR you could use the first drive channle as an overdrive and the second as a metel sound with the contour kicked in and then run a volume pedal in the effects loop for you lead work. I have a triple rec head and this B-52 holds its own pretty well. Its a 100 watts of loud! and I'm itching to use it live to see what it will really do. I have to give it a 9 here becouse its the closest thing to my Mesa Boogie that I have found so far for $299 The reverb is nice too.

I had a B-52 AT-100 all tube head and had no trouble with it. But so far so good. seems well built.

I love my Mesa Boogie triple rec head but this is a very nice close second. Not sure I would have paid the $1200 for my used Mesa if I would have seen this first. The only real difference is the Mesa has a SOLO channle that is switchable from the foot switch and it is on all three channles and each channle on the Mesa has diffrent settings switch for Raw, Modern and Vintage sounds. I think B-52 did a nice job on this head for the price. I play in a coverband and we do some original stuff too. Looking forward to testing this live in two weeks. I will post another short review then.
