Manufactured in 2004. This amp has reverb although I only use a small amount. I play roots rock, Black Crowes, Stones, etc. It is a simple, single channel Class A amp with 15 LOUD watts....more than enough power for me. It has a speaker impedance switch to change between 4 and 8 ohms, although there's no discernible change in sound between the two. There is no effects loop. One (small) gripe I have it that the master volume makes a significant jump in loudness at about the 9:00 position, from practically off to LOUD. In a band situation, it's not a problem, but at home, it can be a bit much. That being said, the louder it is, the better is sounds. It is very heavy but build like a tank.

Sound Quality : 10
This is a great amp for the style of music I play. Some would call it a one trick pony, but it's a great pony. By itself, you will not be able to achieve massive overdrive or thick distortion. However, get a tube screamer and dyna-comp in front of it and look out. I am able to get fantastic clean tones out of it as well. It is very pedal friendly. I use an American Strat with Duncan Duck-buckers and an American Tele with Duncan "hot" pickups. This amp sounds dramatically different with different guitars.

Reliability : 10
I have had no mechanical problems whatsoever. I will say though, that the cabinet covering (some sort of faux leather) is very soft and tears quite easily. I cover or case is recommended if you don't want it beat up quickly.

I've been playing 25 years and this is by far the best amp I've owned. I've had Peavey's, Crates, Fenders, A great sounding amp. Very under-rated power spec. I've had no problem keeping up (and sometimes exceeding) 50 watt Marshalls, Boogies, etc. If it were stolen, I'd probably get another...if I could afford it. When evaluating this purchase, it came down to the Cub II and the Matchless Lightning. I found them to be essentially have equal sound quality but went with the Bad Cat as it was a little less $, slight more tonally versatile, and had reverb. I love the tone. The covering should be tougher for a boutique amp. An effects loop would be nice for delays, chorus, etc.

This amp was made in 2005.
Very simple amp, only one channel, two inputs(high and low), interactive bass and treble, cut(presence), volume, master. And two very special features one switch which can bypass the two interactive tonecontrols and another switch which bypasses the master volume and turns the amp into a mastervolume amp, very VOXish.
Two Celestion 10" speakers.
The 15w classA are more than I'll ever need. Playing live the amp is miked.
I wish this amp had a line-out for homerecording(at night).

Sound Quality : 10
I play telecasters. I don't use many effects only a Fulltone Clyde, a Fulltone FD2 and a Golmer 60's Trem.
What impressed me the most, about BADCAT amps, was how low the level of noise was. I have owned several tube amps, from JCM900's, Bluesbreaker, Mesa's to a Twin. The Twin was supposed to be clean but is was too noisy. This amp can give a really clean sound but can also deliever a solid chunky crush like a good Black Crowes-rhythmsound.
The amp has a very warm sound. A versatile professional tool.

Reliability : 10
Solid, solid and solid.

Never dealt with BADCAT HQ.

I bought the amp from the danish BADCAT-dealer, Wood Sound in Copenhagen. What I liked about buying the amp was that I was given all the time in the world to try out many different BADCAT models in the shop. I went to the shop three times to try out the amps before buying the CUBII. I even brought my own guitar and pedals.
I know that many people do shop for bargains on the internet, so do I but only for cheap cd's and book's. To me the service before buying an amp(at a price I do not dare to mention to my banker) is a important as the service afterwards(which is covered by a 5-year warranty anyway). Mayby I could have bought the amp cheaper in Klondyke but I just can't afford to buy the wrong amp.

Overall Rating : 10
The best amp I have owned so far. It put my Fender Twin on ebay.
If it were stolen I would buy a new one.

I love this amp and am quite impressed with all BADCATS. If you are thinking about buying one of these amps take your time and find the one which suits your style of playing. They are all good amps but very different.

My Cub was built in 2004.
It is a Class A Amp with 2x EL84 Power Section which delivers 15 Watts. Simple to use, the tone pots have a big effect ond the sound because they are active with an extra 12AX7 tube.

It has 2 fantastic sounding Bad Cat moded Celestion 10" Speakers.
In comparison to the Boogies I owned befor this amp is lightweight. Buil quality is top of the top, looks great to. Very Nice!

No effect loop, no reverb. Both is not needed on this fantastic amp - sounds so pure and 3D.

Sound Quality : 10
I use different guitars; PRS McCarthy, Tokai Love Rock Japan with Seymour Duncans, a Fender Strat with Texas Special Pickups(they are very low output), a Strat Plus with Lace Sensors. All this guitars sound wonderful with this amp. Like you can read on the Bad Cat webpage, this amp is a tonemonster! from amazing clean over harmonically crunch to fat Overdrive and distorstion, you get it all from this baby. I' coudn't believe what I was hearing the first time I plugged in a guitar. I never heard something like this before..
Very harmonicaly (amplified from the 10"), so fantastic dynamics, youo can hear and feel every nuance of your pick, this amp is just great. Responds well to your Volume pot of the guitar. You don't need more than this single channel. This amp breakup sone and you won't get this steril clean on loud settings, but you can mic it, if you need.
This amp is not noisy at all. The distortion goes from soft chrunch to fat heavy distortion, depending on the pickups, the volume Pot and your picking.

Reliability : 10
I did 15 shows so far with this amp and i never had a problem. No need for a backup. Built like a tank, military spec, etc.
Beautiful work also for the look, especialy with the shining Bad Cat sign. Very nice!

The only thing to notice, the vinyl looks not very resistant to me, but no problems so far.

I'm playing for 17 years now. I use the amp live on stage here in switzerland. I had a lot of amps(Boogie Mark III, Boogie Mark IV, Mesa Maverick, some old Fenders, a Plexy which was a tricky pony) before the cubII. I sold them all. No need anymore for them. Maybe I will get another Bad Cat (maybe Hot Cat 15) just because I love the fantastic tone the cats produce. This amp make you want to play day and night. Maybe I'm addicted to the Bad Cat tone... damn, it's so good..
There is nothing I hate on this amp. I compared it to VOX AC30, Matchless DC 30, but I luckily got this nice CubII. I'm so happy with it.

If you got the opportunity, go and try one of these amps, the are so fantastic...
