-Single channel, 15 watts (do not be fooled by this!!!! its LOUD)
-best sounding reverb I have ever heard...rich and dynamic
The Cub has proved to be very versatile- i really have fallen in love with the idea of a single channel amp with the best sounding clean- you can always add effects to change an amp, but its the clean channel that counts!!
I bought my Cub in TX, where i tried out nearly 20 high end amps of which the majority were less than 20 watts including Mesa Boogie Mark 4's, Dr. Z Maz 18 JR, Matchless Lightnings, Bogner Duendes..etc.- This amp made them all sound industrial and empty to me. I went home with this one!!!!
I gave the features a 9, because although I have learned to love it, the single channel does "limit" this amp if you are shopping for a versatile amp with multiple channels.

You cannot beat the sound quality of this amp- period. I play a multitude of styles ranging from southern rock, to TX blues, etc etc. I like it all and with some tweaking this amp can do it. My two main guitars are a Gibson Les Paul Standard, and a Fender Strat with Texas Special PU's. Although the price of this amp is scary, it is well worth it. The first time i played it, i found myself laughing in the shop because the tone sounded so good- play one! but be careful- you will fall in love and have to buy it!!
The only other thing i have to say about this amp is when it is paired with a Fulltone OCD overdrive pedal, there is no turning back. I can dial in everything from SRV burn to Jimmy Page marshall crunch- no problem. That would be my only recommendation with the sound of this amp- it sounds great clean- the best youve ever heard, but pair it with an OCD and the sounds you hear will make you laugh in disbelief!
Also, if this amp ever sounds bad, your guitar is out of tune!!!!!

I have never had any problems with this amp so far- it comes with a 5 year warrenty. This thing weighs a ton- solidly built with no shortcuts, and i do not foresee anything going wrong for a while.

I have never dealt with BadCat..but I will update this section if I ever have to! I will give this catagory a 7 though- because ive been waiting for them to finish their website for more than 6 months now!!! Im sick of clicking on an icon and seeing "comming soon"- cause obviously it is not!

I have been playing for about 4 years now, but those four years have been playing every day for more than three hours. I am 21 years old and still in college, so needless to say, I didnt have money to just piss away on this amp- but, it was/is worth it! I do not regret it any day- even when i am eating "cup of noodles" at college because i dont have enough money to buy more meals for my mealplan! This thing is worth it. I was just going to "settle" on a Rivera Clubster 25 doce, but a guy I jam with back at school said..."just go for it" with this amp- and i saved up some more and bought it. So, all i can say to you is....Just go for it!, you will not be disappointed i promise! Before this amp I owned a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe which I hated- I will not even disrespect my Cub by trying to compare the two amps- the Deluxe to me is not even considered a guitar amplifier anymore- the Cub has set the bar too high!
Ill give this amp a 9 on overall though- cause nothing is a "perfect ten" and the price of this amp was scary, but so worth it when the smoke clears and you get some money back in your bank account after buying this amp!

Tone monster!! It has very nice chime on clean side and peel your scalp back overdrive. I'm the token "Country Guy" in a variety band. I play small to medium size clubs 3-4 nights a wk. It covers gigs very well. Don't let the 15 Watts fool you.
It drowns out a screaming wife very well after you tell her you want to buy a pedal board and a road case for your new $2200. amp.

I've been playing for 28 yrs. I've had several amps mainly Fender products. This is the first time I have owned a "Class A Amplifier". I have entered a whole new relam of tone. I was very reluctant to pay that much money for a amp but I'm very glad I did. It has really sparked a fire in the desire to play now. The only downside to this amp is I hardly ever get to leave the stage for break. Every night there is some musician wanting to test my rig.

2007 Model.. I have a Black Cat as well. This is just as good.
Haven't used it in a gig situation yet. Tonight is the test.
I have no doubt the 15w will be enough though.

Bad Cat seem to be helpful when you're praising the product, but seem to ignore emails that may be of a trickier nature.
Bad Cat has a 5 year warranty in the U.S, but only 12 months in Australia. Why???

I was listening to this guy playing this amp in the local store. I was amazed how well it sounded, thus had to have one. I ordered this amp from Wild West Guitars who ordered it from BAD CAT. It took 4 months to get. I'm not going to mumble for hours about this amp, I'll just say this.....I've had many many tube amps over the years, NONE and I mean NONE ! sound as good as this amp. A strat sounds so F good through this amp. I'd agree that this amp is like a FENDER DELUXE REVERB, BUT !!!!!!!! 10 times better, very touch sensitive and crisp. Thats all I have to say about dat.................

LOVE IT
WISH it had an effects loop
but, i must say...this amp is so ORGANIC sounding with the most amazing feel, why ruin it by using effects.
Would I buy another if stolen, YEP.
One complaint, its expensive. But, I must say.....
try one, its like night and day compared to production amps.
you'll never want another amp

Everthing is already said about features for knobs. I think the main feature of this amp is the tone. It is just unbelieveable.
The tone and cut knobs are very interactive and accurate.
This is the way a guitar amp is suppose to work and sound,

Sound just fanatastic tone. been playing for 20 years and not much compares, except vintage stuff. maybe cause they used to build amps like bad cat presently builds them. only down side if you show up at a jam session everyone will want to try your amp it sounds that good.

It is an expensive amp but i would buy another for twice the price.
You will never want to plug into another amp again. My marshall tsl and fender deluxe reverb sit in the corner waiting to be sold.
If you are into tone you can stop, here it is.

2005 Cub II R 1X12. Tone stack can be bypassed, its like having two different preamps in the same channel. Parallel speaker out jacks and a 4/8 ohm switch is a nice feature. Reverb is OK.

I use a Grosh tele w/Fralins and this amp loves it. The amp can handle almost any style your chops can throw at it. I like to defeat the master volume and run with the volume about half way up, that way I can use my guitars volume knob to add grit. It's only noisy when the single coils are close to the amp. This amp is the best built 2 X EL84 amp out there. They all sound great for the most part.

If you've ever seen the inside of a Bad Cat or Matchless and probably Star, you won't be worried about realiability. Just keep spares tubes and fuses on hand (you should for any tube amp).

Been playing over 40 years. The Bad Cat is one of the best built amps period and I want to own one them when they become what there really worth. In this price range all the amps sound pretty good, So, I choose mine on build quality.
