This Panther was one of the earliest models with a single defeatable master volume. I do not use MV's, so I gave it a whirl just to see how it works and it is fantastic! Those who use MV's will dig it. This 6V6 powered amp features to independant channels (inputs techically) which can be toggled between via footswitch, or blended! The first input is the cleaner 12ax7 side, and feature vol, bass, treble, mid, plus a 5 way mid boost which is really cool! The second input is the EF86 side which is fatter and rounder. Both sides love pedals (I am specifically talking OD pedals and of course the others work great as well), but I tend to lurk on the 12ax7 side. The EF86 input featurs volume, cut, and a 5 way tone switch which takes it from a thinner sound to a super thick round tone. At 40 watts there is plenty of headroom! I mostly play country, but we also mix rock and gig 2-4 nights per week. This amp would be at home with any style except metal, and a pedal can even get you there!

My main axe is a Fender Custom Shop Relic Nocaster. The amp lets this guitar sing! I also have a few other Tele's and a G&L ASAT Deluxe which see's a lot of stage time. The ASAT has splittable humbuckers and the amp was killer in either setting.

James's builds tanks....everything is over the top quality wise! Better yet, if something does go down, Bad Cat has excellant customer service.

They are very friendly and eager to help you find your sound! I have been through a lot of amps and Jame's has even helped with those! Not that he would do this as a service for anyone, but I just wanted to make the point that he does go the extra mile.

I've been playing for 25 years and own a number of top quality amps. For my day gig, I am the North American OEM Sales Mgr for Celestion and deal with a lot of really cool people and have the opportunity to play a lot of cool amps. James has a winner with this one! If it were stolen, I would be very bummed, cry, go through the stage of anger and rage, and then go to James shop and order another!

Made early this year. not a production amp yet , 2 channel switching amp. 40 watts , 4 - 6V6. tube rectifer. non verb

great sounding amp ..... the feel is a very touch kinda amp . you get what you play here. pleanty of gain to spare. almost more than I need , I tend to like the clean end better and get the dirt with an Exotic AC booster or a Zen Drive. this amp does it all!!! blues, rock, country. has no verb so I put a T REX Room mate in front of it and its just fine. being a Super Reverb guy for 30 plus years I like a little verb
